The Giants discovered the template of how to beat the Patriots. You don't try to outscore them in a track meet type game, you pound them, on every play, play good defense, and do not give up the big play. The 1st half ended 7-3, the giants played almost perfectly, even though they were behind, the game was shortened so the Patriots thoroughbreds did not have the chance to change the game. There four down lineman were stout enough in both pass rushing, and stopping the run allowing the LB's and CB's to play soft zones, but to make sure tackles, the Giants did not give up the normal amount o YAC that the Patsies are used to getting. INOW, they had to earn everything, no cheapy 40 yd Td's, every series was a battle. Now the NFL is a league that chases innovation, most teams do not create new systems, they copy other teams systems, but the Giants have managed to find a front 7 that could do much more then the average group of players can. On offense, Eli managed to be just enough of a caretaker and playmaker to win the game, he was called on to make one play (1) a escape from a sack and a thrity yd completion down the field, but that was enough.
HAHAHA 18-1 BTW, why is it that I can access this site but finheaven.com seems to be inaccessible from the traffic? Come guys get on a real server!
Well I would bet that every Fins Fan who ever accessed FN has just logged on replete with pictures of Belicheat.... Funny thing, Jeremy Shockey being out of the game was supposed to be a disadvantage, but Boss and Tyree made the biggest plays on offense. In Title games, sometimes you just never know who will step up and make a play.
Actually I think we laid the groundwork for how to beat then LAST season when we shut them out: Get pressure with the front four, allowing LBs and safeties to help in coverage and take away options, cause Brady to have to check off more than he likes and HIT HIM every chance you get!! I'll be wearing this to work tomorrow! There is a HUGE Pats fan at work who wore a Patsies shirt ever day this past week
I beg to differ, me thinks the Dolphins showed the world how to beat the Pats. Thing is only the Giants were paying attention.
