Picked Cleveland State to win and barely missed on my other upset (Utah State lost by 1). I had Florida State and Utah in the sweet 16 and WVU in the elite 8. Not horrible.

I hate Louisville. I had a 6 team parlay bet to win $200. Lousiville was -21. And they win by 20. Texas, ASU, Dayton, Xavier and Siena all covered for me. :(

I feel ya man. Thurday I had a 6 game parlay and had Maryland, Washington, Texas, Michigan and and VCU cover for me.
And then had Binghamton to cover 22.5
    They lost by 24.
    I hate Duke.

and this is why you dont do 6 game parlays...there's always one team that just misses the cover. Anything more then a say a 3 game parlay is a sucker bet.

Sorry for the bad luck guys. If both of those teams lose this round I wont be upset at all. Actually Texas should beat duke if they play the way they can. And Louisville I had losing to Wake :tantrum:

I guess I missed a pretty bad game. But it was a rebuilding year anyways and heart wasn't in it like previous years. A disappointing season but lots of hope for a bounceback next year. At least it gives me one less distraction now.

Yeah but it's a way to take $5 and make $200. I usually only do a few teams but I had a good feeling about that one. Sigh.

    A few thoughts so far:
Loved that WKU-Gonzaga finish, and CBS redeemed their awful screw up with failing to switch away from the Cornell-Mizzou dog by cutting to the last 20 seconds. That was as awesome a finish as I expect to see.

In watching the Duke-Texas game, I thought "man, this is a sloppy game for two well coached teams", then I caught myself and thought "man, this is a sloppy game for a well coached team and a team coached by Rick Barnes." The difference in coaching was never more apparent than in the last couple minutes, when Duke did all the little things right, and Texas did every damn one wrong.

Speaking of that game, I'm not sure how I feel about Gerald Henderson. Seems like he looks for his own shot WAY too much, though he's got the skills to be a good passer. I like how he drives to the hoop, I like how he doesn't back down from bigger guys, and I like his work ethic, but his jumper is mediocre.

I think I'd give $1000 to never hear the term "x-factor" again (unless you're talking about the Marvel comic for some reason). An X-factor, by definition, is undefined. You can only figure out after the fact what the X-factor was. A bad call, a bench player having a big game in relief of an injured starter, an unexpected injury, a boneheaded coaching decision; these are X-factors. AJ Abrams is NOT an X-factor (yes, CBS actually claimed this). If he plays well, Texas probably wins. If he doesn't, they probably lose. How is that a mystery?

I think Clark Kellogg is rather vanilla as a color commentator, but that's still light years better than the excrement-flavored ice cream Billy Packer was serving to viewers for years. God, Packer was a jerk. I still wish they'd make Bill Raferty the #1 color guy, though.

Love Chase Budinger as a potential pro. I love those "fill up the box score" kind of guys. With luck, he could be a homeless man's Scottie Pippen. And yes, that's a compliment.

Tyler Hansbrough should have gone pro last year. He probably should have gone pro 2 years ago, actually. He's the same player now that he was as a sophomore. If he enjoys college, that's great, and goodness knows, a degree from UNC actually counts for something, so if that was part of his decision, fine, but I think he cost himself a good amount of money by not going pro before this year.

Questionable athletic ability going into the next level, lacking next-level defensive ability and awareness, sub-par ball handler doesn't even come close to Scottie Pippen or even a homeless man's Pippen. We're talking maybe a homeless man's Pippen with 2 legs and an arm amputated with a lobotomy. I consider him a Luke Walton with a better shot.

I don't know about the athleticism, I think he's got plenty. Defense is an area for improvement, no question, but you can say that about 90% of kids coming into the NBA. He's heady enough and a good enough worker to become a quality defender. (By comparison, Pippen was one of the all-time great defenders, pretty much right out of the box, so in that respect, my analogy was overly ambitious.)

I forgot to add one other bullet point to my post: I'm sorry that UCLA's out of the tournament. Not that I'm a huge UCLA fan or anything, but rather, the Bruins consistently bring the absolute hottest cheerleaders to the tournament. Sorry to see them go.

He is a high IQ player for sure but even though he can also jump and run, I worry about lateral quickness especially on the perimeter. He can give up shots on bad recovery defensively as well as have a tough time with quicker forwards who slash to the basket, which was Luke Walton's issue as well.

Amen to that. It's why I was there (even though it didn't work out with one of em after 3 weeks). :knucks:

Missouri and Pitt had me sweating yesterday. I have Pitt winning it all and Missouri in the final four. Thank God they were both able to get it done.

Pitt has looked shaky so far and they better get it fixed before Thursday.

Did ok in the first two round and still have all my elite 8 teams in it.

Both of the early games have been exciting, albeit a little bit sloppy. Right now, it looks like I may be 1-1.

The team I have picked to win it all, Pitt has looked sloppy and disorganized against an Xavier team that's playing pretty well. Not good.

UCONN has continued to simply fend off Purdue, and the Boilermakers aren't helping by missing open 3s. UCONN looks like they are playing their best ball of the tournament.

Pitt just doesn't make it easy for me . What a great game that was though and they did what they had to do at the end to win. Great defense, made their free throws and how about that 3-pointer by Levance Fields to give Pitt the lead for good? Incredible.

I'm 2 for 2 so far because UConn won, and they have looked great so far in the tournament.

Now, let's go Missouri and 'Nova!

Memphis forgot how to play defense and shoot free throws. They win that game if they can hit free throws down the stretch, and they put up any kind of defense against Mizzouri.

    :pity:

    Bracket Busted. Go Jayhawks.

Yeh Memphis officially ruined me. Stoopid Calipari, teach your guys how to shoot! Tereke Evans carried that squad. He was like 9-9 at the line, the rest of the team was 5-22 or something...:pity:

And I should have known better than to go for Duke against Nova.
