I say he goes in the 1st round, too many teams are looking for a 3 - 4 DE who can get to the QB.

That is a sick 40 time for a man of his size and strength.

i think beanie wells had a 10' 7" broad jump. that's pretty incredible for a DE. also, the 37 vert at being 6'5"

His athleticism was never in question, it was his instincts and run stuffing ability. He has the prototypical size for a 3-4 DE but would definitely have to be molded into being a system guy. On the other hand, he would be an above average pass rusher for the position.

This may sound stupid, but could he play SOLB?

Rex Ryan got a first hand look at my favorite defensive prospect in the entire 2009 NFL Draft.

    I like.

I'm just saying, we threw Holiday back there at one point, and Gilbert seems a lot more athletic.

I still can't get over the jumping out of the pool video. This kid has made himself a LOT of money. He is still a bit raw, but I could definitely see a team like Baltimore or Pittsburgh taking him in the 1st round. In fact, I think several 4-3 teams would be interested in him as well.

And hey, if the Jets want to take him at #17, sweet! That would certainly increase the chances of a guy like Maualuga falling to us.

He is an intriguing prospect. He is certainly a physical specimen. But I have doubts that he'll make it into the first round. It's not impossible. But I see him possibly falling into the mid- 2nd round. You never know though. We've all witnessed plenty of surprises on draft day. I mean, Wanny sure as hell surprised us a lot!!
