Keyshawn is well versed in NON ELITE WR, Being he wasn't one himself. I am not yet sold on whether Ginn is or isn't a #1 WR or elite. In two seasons he has been in 2 offenses with 4 different QBs on a pretty bad passing team. He didn't have the coaching in year one and with how that season went south so fast, probably wasn't a priority. Last year, as it went along he was showing signs of improvement, when he wasn't getting double covered because we only had 2 WRs in the game. OK elite WR have to fight off those coverages, agreed. But he isn't there yet, may never get there or he may. Keyshawn is hardly one to talk. He was never a #1 WR himself even though he spent a great deal of time telling everyone he was.
The problem is the inference that Ginn will never be a #1 WR that upset some...As you said, the jury is still out on him and he has improved from year to year...having a second year in the same system will improve his game as well. This regime likes bigger WRs, that's a known fact. That doesn't mean all their WRs have to be in the TO, Keyshawn, Patrick Clayton mold. There is still room for a Terry Glenn type WR...Ginn has yet to show that consistency but this will be the year to see that happen...
Ginn has driven me mad with that That is the one thing that has driven me mad about Ginn, him running out of bounds as opposed to fighting for the extra yard. OK, don't want him to take stupid hits and get hurt, but too often I see him making a b line right to the sidelines. Started to refer to him as ViGinna!
Keyshawn reached 1000 yrds in a season 4 times and never once hit over 1200.... He was never close to elite. Heck his stats say he was never a number one Wr let alone elite. As for him hitting the nail on the head with Ginn. You're correct. He sure aint but, and I'm not saying Ginn will be like him, but Marvin Harrison was just average in his first 3 (one missing 4 games) seasons. It takes some Wr's time to get used to the NFL. Getting a Qb like Manning, who is accurate and can wing it, helps too....
While by no means do i think Ted Ginn is elite yet, who cares what Keyshawn says? He doesnt know what hes talking about half of the time anyways. His veiws are useless.

Ted Ginn isn't elite. He's not a number one receiver at this point. Both Davone Bess and Greg Camarillo are more productive at this point. Hell Ronnie Brown and Patrick Cobbs are better receivers. Personally I'd love to trade Ginn but I doubt it's going to happen. Failing that I'd love to see him live up to his draft pick. He's got all the talent in the world. I just wish he'd play as hard as Camarillo and Bess.
Why do people keep comparing Ginn to Bess? Bess benefited GREATLY from being on the field with Ginn. Ginn ran completely different routes than Bess, and it just so happened that Bess's routes were more condusive to Pennington's style of play. Bess does not have the potential to do what Ginn has the potential to do. Not to mention, Ginn had what, 800 yards last season? Not bad for a reciever in his second year with a QB who doesn't throw many long balls at the helm.
Yes I know that they are RB's. However they are RB's with good hands and speed. When they catch the ball they work for it and make the most out of it. Ginn has had a couple of good catches. But for the most part he's been a disappointment til now. I'm hoping this year that the light switch goes off in his head and he starts playing like the WR he could be. EDIT I don't like Ginn as a player. I never liked his selection. However after posting this I went back and looked at his numbers. He had the most receptions and yards and highest yards per catch between himself, Camarillo and Bess. Also the longest reception at 64 yards. He also had 2 TD receptions, 7 receptions over 20 yards, 4 of them over 40 yards. Teddy had 3 fumbles though. So maybe Teddy is a little better than I gave him credit for. He needs to be more consistent though and stop the fumbling. I still don't think he'll be elite but maybe he will develop into a solid #1 after all.
I'm not a football guru and I don't claim to be but I will not go against all my instincts on this. When I watch Ginn run with the football, he doesn't look like he is not thinking about getting hit. Watch a Steve Smith make a catch, even earlier on in his career, and make pretend like there's not a guy with two arms around him as he spins, fights, muscles for whatever he can get. He is not thinking as much as reacting. I have yet to see this from Ginn. I still believe that Ginn can be extremely special/productive because of his speed but IMO Ted Ginn Jr. will never become an elite WR. Put an Anquan Boldin on the other side of him, a QB under center to get Ginn the long ball (a future Henne), and we might be talking about an offense that can put up 40 points per game.
