Actually, considering that they only stole around $100 worth of stuff, I would say the $33/month bill does NOT make it worth it. Unless of course, they are getting ripped off more than once every three months...

 

For mental peace of mind it is worth it alone.

 

Not really. Most people don't even use the alarm systems they buy, rendering it useless.

I say get a dog. A mean looking bully breed of a dog. Noise is the biggest deterrant and loud barking does just fine.

Plus, you get a companion. You can't hug your alarm system. Well, I suppose you can, but it won't hug you back.

 

FPL is horrible. During the hurricanes a few years back some people waited nearly a month to get power back on. FPL was accused of turning the power back on for their "Rich" customers first and leaving the lower-class neighbrohoods powerless the longest.

They've become like any other big corporation. Greedy and money-hungry.

 

FPL ... wow, that brings back memories. Do they still have the Sparky (or whatever his name was) mascot?

I have a love/hate relationship with FPL.

 

If you had LWU you would long for FPL like Borat longed for Pamela Anderson.

 

In Ft. Myers they have LCEC, whom my Dad works for. I interned (sp?) for them in High School and can say they are an excellent power company as far as service goes.

Granted, they are a much smaller company compared to FPL.

 

Yep, you are correct. LCEC used to send ME a check every year. It was always a nice surprise.
I moved to South Fort Myers so had to go with FPL.

 

LWU was blasted a couple years ago for using antiquated equipment. The worst part is I'm like the last ******* on their grid. To the West and North of me is all FPL. I can stand on my darkened porch and see the lights on in my neighbors' houses.

 

LOL Opfin, I hate it when your sweating in darkness and your neighbors are watching a good movie in air conditioned comfort.

You are always so happy, all the time, you're like a ****ing cartoon character that has mainlined sugar for 10 days straight, not sleeping, not eating, just shooting up pure sugar into the bloodstream. You probably whistle zippity do dah out of your ******* and need plastic surgery to take the smile off your face. I bet you're so happy that when you walk by a black and white TV it suddenly bursts into HD color, with surround sound. Dogs probably start humping each other when you get within 10 feet, babies stop crying and a hole opens up in the stormclouds bathing you with a gentle beam of Sunlight.

Actually it does, because I save $ 810 ($ 67.50 a month) on my homeowners insurance by having an alarm system

 

The police detective seemed to think that it was someone....maybe a kid who lives in the neighborhood and might have a drug problem. That was the profile they are looking at right now.

I was out 5 days after Katrina, and then 6 weeks later was out 15 days after Wilma. Yes FP & L sucks, but I have to give them a little break, as my dad worked for FP & L for 38½ years, only retiring in 1998 when his multiple sclerosis became to bad for him to continue.

He was # 3 in longevity out of 20,000 employees when he was forced out. Its a shame because I think he might have made the record if he had been able to continue to work there until he was 65. He had to retire at 58. The other two gentlemen ahead of him were both 61 and only had 6 months each on my dad in longevity.

So FP & L did put the food on my table, clothes on my back and roof over my head. That I have to be thankful for.

the best tv in the house went out tonight..right when i was about to watch march madness, and tonight the blazers have a huge game

now i have to set up the satelite dish in my parents room and watch the blazer game in there

Tell me about it, it was hell after Wilma in 2005. Every subdivision around us seemed to get lights a week before we did. They kept on claiming it was "the main line from the substation that is being repaired". That didn't explain why everyone north of SW 16th Street, and south of Coral Way got their lights back 7 days before we did. It was a royal pain.

 

Ummmmmm, this is a MIAMI Dolphins message board......that could be sorta a reason.....not sure but it could be a contributing factor
