Henne in small doses

:wink2: I think (depending on his training camp) that we will see chad henne in certain game situations this season. i think that in downs that will require any down field go pass formation that henne may be put in to make the defense think deep pass to pull the DB's in more of a prevent allignment and he either dumps the pass for a first or the wildcat is switched into....so i think that henne will be used this year (besides getting game experience) as a change of pace QB and a deceptive weapon to keep the opposing defense off-balance. I know they say that if you have a two QB system,....you have NO.. ..QB at all. So I'm saying that i think the dolphins will use Henne sparingly as a small part of the game plan on certain Sundays and Pennington is still the main weapon this year. jmho

obviously this is my opinion, but i seriously doubt it.

Unless we are blowing the other team out, are getting blown out, Penny gets hurt or is playing terrible. those are the only scenarios i see Henne playing this year.

Agreed, Roots...if we start to see Henne after the season starts, it's because Penny is hurt or we're completely out of the race towards the end of the season...the only scenario I see Henne earlier or more regularly in would be if he actually blows us away in TC and makes the regime think harder about whether the starter is going to be Penny...

you guys are probably right....i was just thinking of the little twist they put in last year with the wildcat and this year they may try some mis-direction with Henne.....prob. wrong though

    No way, no how.

Unfortunately, Penny has only played in 16 games twice: 2008 and 2006. I'm not saying he's gonna get hurt in 2009, but let's just say the odds favor that situation. The Trio know this and they know there's a good chance Henne will see some game action without forcing it.

I was leaving his health out of the equation.....of course if he's hurt the entire year will be rethunk

    I understand all that.

However, because of Penny's injury history, the odds are Henne will see some playing time this year...and therefore won't need to be inserted into certain spots during the game.

Of course, Pennington could play better than he did last year and start all 16 (plus playoffs and Superbowl) games. A boy can dream.
