well hopefully we can look at this thing and come to an understanding. on one hand its completely understandable to have more "serious" talk and less "filler", if you want to call it that . but as long as Sick assures us that we can still have fun while keeping it a bit tamer, im all for it. Lets get this thing going and hopefully it can lead to bigger and better things. GO PHINS!
Sick, I mentioned it in a post earlier, but it either got overshadowed or it was just stupid, but are you sure the radio site doesn't hold any rights to your show? If so, you might want to double, no triple check before the format change.
whata you mean? my show can be changed anytime i want it.....its a free site, and im not making money or being featured by them.....it asks everytime i schedule a show....what the subject is, what the title is, and what the length is.....i can literally have a different topic and different title to my show every night....
I'm just saying, to be careful, check the fine print. For example, if I buy a rights managed photo from a web site, I can manipulate the photo however I want, but still have to pay royalties and what not. Point is, just to be safe, double check the sign up agreement, and make sure they don't 'own" a piece of your show for hosting it. I'd hate for this to take off, (I think it will) then you turn around and get screwed, that's all.
well if it does take off (please god...haha) i signed no contract, and i never signed a no compete clause.....there are other mediums out there if i need to switch

We want this to be legit, and not to stain ThePhins.com name, so we need to control ourselves. Yes last week was not my brightest spot, but from now on you can count on me, and I believe the majority of us to be on our best to help this show grow. Guys be on your best behavior, because this could lead to real big-time interviews and guests like, Henning, Sparano, Pennington, Ginn Jr and Long, etc. If you want to perhaps have the chance to talk directly to those guys, and ask questions, do what you can to help Sick and 124 put on a great, clean and family oriented show.
Finsane, go ahead and start your own show. Canvass opinion from Sick, Celt and 124, and Sam who are all media savy and do it. It could be a compliment show to Sick and 124, maybe a one-hour show that has lighter content, maybe content towards gaming, entertainment etc.....if they do 2 hours and you do 1 hour before or after their show it would be the usual 3 hr block that most radio shows have.
Dude I believe in you and you've known that for a while now. To see you write this confirms why I had a belief in you. You will have my support 100% for this. You and 124 will be a huge hit I can see you having 50+ regular listeners in just a couple of months, and then a lot more in a few months. I have to admit, that will be the toughest thing for me to get over. I will not listen if you have a Sid Rosenberg type as a guest Count me out on that one Celt what happens if one of our favorite hosts *cough, cough* tries to do a Jests segment ? As a Dolphin fan I will have a problem with that. Maybe some ground rules about that need to be set ahead of time, and inform us if that is going to be allowed.....I will make sure I to have something else to do during the segment (just jerking your chain 124 ) But really could we keep it to Dolphins content or not ?
The guys host a sports show, not just a Dolphins show. That gives them the best chance of drawing the largest audience IMO.
I agree, Sick is still the main host of the show, but it is nice to have a different perspective on the outlook of the AFCE, and the rest of the NFL. 124 will do a great job, as long as he keeps the Pennington bashing to a minimum.
You guys are dreaming big with some of the "franchising" ideas that is for sure and best of luck to you. Also I am welcoming a more serious focused show which I think will benefit the listeners and help the future success of the show.

Well they can do what they want with the show, but I really don't believe a show sponsered by a Miami Dolphins message board should have a NY Jets (of all teams ) segment. It sure dampens my enthusiasm for the project, and it frankly disappoints me that managment would be willing to even consider it. I don't frankly care about other teams, and rah-rah'ing for them, ESPECIALLY the New York Jets of all teams. 40 years of hating that team, getting into shouting matches at Dolphins games with them, and being abused at work by them, having a boss who was a Jets fan, and his abusive treatment of me when the Dolphins would win, has made me a very bitter person towards them. EDIT : I know that I am but one person, and not a member of the staff that makes any decisions at ThePhins.com . However I believe I share a lot of the same outlook that many DolFans hold, and that is a major dislike of the NY Jets and any of the other of our AFC East Rivals. Any "moderating" of the show to neutralize the Dolphins flavor of the new show would, I believe percieved negatively by DolFans such as myself, and I think will lessen the impact the show will need to grow faster and gain a loyal audience. I know that I will be less inclined to listen to the show, and I think many others who are DolFans will do the same. Just my unsolicited opinion, but that is what this board is for I believe. Maybe it will be percieved as arrogant & presumtious on my part to think that any of my opinions are expressed on this matter. But again I will emphasize the fact that I think I am the pretty typical DolFan when it comes to this, and I will feel a bit cheated if a show on ThePhins.com doesn't focus mainly on the Dolphins, but on a "sports neutral" content.

I thought I did too, but it looks like the management and the hosts wish to do a show that won't be as I had envisioned when I wrote my post. Very disappointing
Can we all just WAIT and HEAR the show first before we criticize it? Cripes, they haven't even had a show yet and everyone is ready to severe some heads. I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised.
who said anything about a jets segment? i am a dolphins fan, he is a jet fan....will those teams be brought up? most defintley. will the show lean heavily on just those 2 teams? absolutley not. i want a broad audience. how many 1 team oriented shows do you see out there?! not many. this will be a sports show. we WILL talk about baseball, march madness, nba, nfl, and also non sports related stuff, like maybe movies or tv shows. does that mean its a entertainment tonight type show? no. we want the opportunity to reach a bigger perspective listenership.....we can do that by giving different types of fans what they want. thephins.com is a dolphins site. but we have a popular other sports forum.....a popular pofo, a popular lounge, and a popular music and movie forum. this show can and will reach the ears of different fans. so we will cater to what they wanna hear. besides. we wanna know what we are up against this season when it comes to the jets? our most hated rival? well what better then to get that information from a fan that knows a hell've alot about them? this will do nothing but better our show imo. i understand your love for the dolphins kevin. and i understand this is "thephins.com" but think about this.....would you want thephins.com to be dolphin fans only?!?! if it was......celt and muck would lose members.....clumpy, 124, shelby, soundwave to name a few....are opposing fans....but they were welcomed here, and some are even paying club members. and it gives us dolfans a different perspective and a different conversation then a "the dolphins rule!!!!" attitude from dolphin fans. its humbling. and a good thing for this site....and this radio show. im excited for tonight, i hope you'll be there kevin. i think and hope you'll be pleasantly surprised
News: Miami Mike's is hosting the live radio show both days of the draft so, if you are in the area, please stop by Miami Mikes and buy lots of beer and food. We won't know for sure until we get closer but there is a good possibility that Chris and Joe will be able to interview Anthony Fasano during the show and our Gurus are scheduled to call in as well.
