This is actually quite valid too. Roth was a monster at Iowa, and it's not like he lost his intensity or passion for the game. He is still progressing/improving and that is a good thing, right? He just hit his 3year curve so I honestly feel he could be due his breakout season, if that doesn't sound crazy. I see flashes of it from time to time.
Maybe we do go wideout like Nicks #1 if we miss out on Boldin....and grab a pass rush specialist like Butler later on if it's only extra QB pressure that Tuna wants? Amagine our offense with a healthy line, Ronnie, Hakeem, Fasano, and maybe adding a TE James Casey or Beckum for an extra dimension! We could be dangerous very quickly. That still gives us room in the middle for an ILB, CB like Sherrod Martin or Byrd, and Ziggy/Dorell Scott.

How would you go if we had to take this approach? If Barwin's there, this nullifies everything though:D

Thanks Aqua. Crunch was nice enough to give me a 3 day pass last week. Needless to say it got more use than a Kleenex at the Wankorama! :D

At wife and I just dumped a bunch of money into moving, so I'll have to wait a few weeks to be able to rationalize spending money on talking football with a bunch of Dolphin fans. LOL.

Aqua, I've got one for you...go to the "Hakeem Nicks" post from last week in the Club room and look for all the Smilie faces somewhere around post 85-100 range. Hopefully you get a chuckle from it;)

To me the guy on the bubble is Akin A, we just re-upped Channing and it's common knowledge he cannot blitz worth a darn.

I could see us going with a younger version of Vonnie Holiday, more a DE then a OLB, a guy like Gilbert or Sidbury but we can snag that type of player later at #44 o \r #57.

Dmart could be on the bubble as well if we can find a more well rounded Te.

Maybe, IMO head to head we go Johnson over Barwin and Barwin over English.

Here's one for all of us that we haven't thought of. Maybe...just maybe Tuna has no intension of drafting a Hybrid with pick #1, and talk of it is just a smokescreen that the Pats have bought into hook line and sinker just like all of us have! ;) Hmmmm?
    Just food for thought.

:shudder: The top CB's are going to be gone when our turn comes but there's still going to be top notch talent at LB. There's going to be Barwin, Sintim or Matthews at 25. I really would prefer strong, pass rushing lb. I wanna see Cameron Wake hit Tom Brady high and Connor Barwin hit him low. That's not too much to ask is it?

    Good thoughts.
Yuck on Johnson though! I'll become a Pats fan if we were to take him over Connor.
How about this: if we took Barwin 1 to play strongside opposite Wake and took Sintim at 2a as a our playmaking, blitzing MLB? if he falls that far

correct the FO did not specifically state which position, but the intent was clearly to be able to put more pressure on the QB ... which would have to relate to OLB or DE. We took 2 small baby steps towards that in FA with Wake and McDaniel ... i would expect the same from the draft.
