Boldin is going to be 29 this season and coming off an injury. Nicks is going to be a rookie with lots of upside and potential and could be a productive reciever for years to come, hes the type of WR we need wholl come at a fraction of what Boldin could cost in $ wise and would increase in value in the long run.
I'm loving the attitude. I've always been one to think that our receiving core could be great if they are given time and keep working hard. I'm a believer.
I hear what your saying but do not agree. Boldin is a proven player that rebounded two weeks from his injury with no noticeable change in his play. He has the veteran leadership that could help along our stable of up and coming wide receivers. That alone coupled with the fact that Nicks is a question mark in terms of translating his skills to the NFL is enough to sway me in wanting Boldin over Nicks any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Nicks could turn out to be the next Boldin or Ward but that is not a certainty. What is a certainty is that Boldin is a Pro Bowl caliber wide out in his prime that has produced at the professional level and would help out this team now and for years to come. His age is a non factor to me because players of his caliber have been able to play well into their 30's.
I'd get Boldin for a second. Parcells has not been much of a guru at drafting great WRs, so I'd be happy to get a proven one for a second. Then again, I'd also be happy to trade Joey Porter while his value is still high and get a second round pick for him, then to use that pick to get Boldin. This Front Office will be batter at drafting pass rushers than WRs. So, draft OLBs to replace Porter.

Gee, wasn't Kiper the one who put Ginn in the top ten of his draft back in 2007 ?? I think Kiper holds a grudge when teams don't pick the guys he thinks they should, especially the top 10 guys... Seriously, I think London taking this personally and showing the leadership is great. But if they do draft Nicks, London might just be the guy on the PS. Cammy and Wilford are probably safe due to the cap hit (Cam was just re-signed in November and we all know the Wilford saga). Ginn has what the others don't, speed. He showed a lot last year and I don't think they want to give up on him yet. Bess showed he is a viable 3rd or 4th WR and has value as a return guy as well. Where does that leave London ?? He is the most unproven guy we have. He has some upside, but obviously Nicks, if he's drafted would be safe...same thing applies to acquiring Boldin although I don't think that is going to be an option...I think he stays in the desert and despite the gibber-gabber from he and his agent, it's where his heart is (and his contract) anyways.
Love London being a stand up player and not taking it.... Man...Vernon Davis could be a beast with the right coaches......
I agree that Camerillo and Bess can and do get the job done, but as far as Ginn goes he needs to start playing allot better. This is his third year coming up, it's make it or break it time. At this point I see Ginn as a bust or a goof pick, so it is up to him to learn to be more physical getting off the line of scrimmage and learn how to run patterns.
no one knows what will become of London, but what is most definately good is that he will have the whole offseason to learn and grow with this offense. i do expect to see improvement from him ... the question is just how much.
We can agree to disagree, but Ginn improved a lot last year. And, he still has what can't be coached...speed...and yes, he has to make another step up this year, to show he can be a solid WR...
