Jay Cutler to be traded. Pat Bowlen just released a statement saying that Jay Cutler will no longer be a Bronco and will now field offers for a trade. Breaking news on the Denver tv stations, they just read the Bowlens statement on air.
saw that report on the NFLN. man id be pissed if im a Bronco fan. first Bowlen fires a hall of fame coach with plenty of coaching left. then the snot nosed puke he hires estranges himself to the most promising young qb in the league. talk about a crappy off-season.
Not so sure about that I'm sure that the GM and the owner are involved in this in a big way, so I really doubt that it's all McDaniels.
What has McDaniels ever done? So far his resume includes screwing up his relationship with one of the most talented young QB in the NFL. Like all the others before him, McDaniels is a product of BB and Tom Brady's success. Without a QB, McDaniels will be finding work with another team soon enough. What a dumbass that guy is.
Heard the same thing last year about Brett Favre. The Broncos need a Qb who can play from Day 1, the Jets don't have on to offer, the Browns do, if Cutler does become a Jet it will cost dearly, maybe a Herschel Walker type deal...
I'd love to know why the Browns would do this deal and why can't the Jets and Browns do a 3 team trade like EVERYONE on Sirius NFL Radio was talking about a week or two ago (you know, the most reliable source, with NFL.com that you'll find). And Favre was 38/39. Cutler is 25. And the Jets improved their defense and will be an entirely different scheme, the Raven scheme. But keep hating padre. Fact is with or without Cutler, the Jets will be better.
Why do you suppose the "3 team deal" wasn't done weeks ago 124? Could be the Jets don't have much to offer, or if they do, Mangini will mug you guys for all the value possible. As for being better then 10-6...doubt it, 09 is going to be tough year for everyone in the AFC East, you guys don't have a Qb...
I can't get over how stupid the Broncos are. This is a very good young QB who will only get better. They don't come around too often, you get one, and now want to trade him? Who's going to the play QB now? Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
it was the cute blonde chick reporting. just said that bowlen tried for 10 days to get in touch with cutler , as did McD. no success. so they're gonna get him traded as he wishes.
Let them have him. This is pure win for the phins. Another AFC team that was on the rise just self destructed. And Cutler while talented is a bit of a crybaby. If the Jets mortgage the farm for him and he has an off game the New York fans will tear him apart. He thought he had it tough in denver? Imagine hordes of people in nasally brooklyn accents talking about how small your manhood is! Fuhgeddaboutit!!!
What do you all think about the Jets offering Darrell Revis for Cutler?? I have a feeling that could work for both sides, with some picks thrown into the equation.
Jeez, I guess the Broncos never heard the phrase 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it." They didn't have a problem with their qb, they had a problem with their defense giving up so many points a game. Nice job by the new coach, now they can rebuild the whole team.
Funny thing is, the Broncos have already stopped selling Cutler jerseys at their store according to Pft, which is ominous to say the least. "Culter? Who is this Jay Cutler, does he play for the Broncos? Never heard of him" Culter is a hot hot commodity at the moment, with 4 teams with legit Qb needs and a Franchise type Qb on the market, someone is going to overpay big time to land him.
All you need is a Game Manager with the team we have. A guy like Cutler makes it a lot better, but all we "need" is a Game Manager. Clemens or Ratliff can do that.
Keep saying it over and over and eventually..it will come true. btw...have you been to www.jetfanblooddriveforcutler.com? Now you can really "bleed green" for your team 124.
I cant believe the Vikes arent gonna make a serious run at Cutler. Really? Your a QB away from a championship and you wont pull the trigger? Childress' manlove for Jackson is killing that team. I wonder if AP goes postal and kills them at some point when he realizes hes the new Barry Sanders. That said, as much talk as there is for the Jets, there are teams with alot more to offer, this will be very interesting to watch.
Anyone think that this could be a reoccurring theme with Cutler from team to team just like Owens? Whoever ends up trading for him already knows they have to wipe his *** every time he farts. Otherwise Jay will throw a tantrum and go to a new team.
http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80f8f152 Here's a video where Sapp and some other guy (LB from somewhere) do a march madness type tournament (dear god when and where does march madness end?) to figure out where Cutler goes. For those not wanting to watch the whole thing... They say the lions.
I read that they were originally interested btu have since changed their mind. They have a couple options. They could pick up Vick, trade for Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn or could draft Josh Freeman. I heard that right after the announcement was made that he was taken off the roster on their website. Something turned off the Vikings. Maybe it's just how this whole thing turned out thy don't like his maturity? One other thing. Everyone is talking about Cleveland getting involved and trading Brady Quinn to the Broncos. But honestly why would they do that? They invested 2 first round picks in the guy. I could see them trying to trade Derek Anderson and keeping Brady Quinn. Unless Quinn is stinking it up in practices or something I just can't see what Cleveland gets out of it. You should see some of the crap that broncos fans are fantasizing about. I've seen them suggesting 2 1st rounders and a second. Some are talking about the old Herschell Walker trade. They really expect some team to beg the Broncos for the privilege of being robbed. I think if some team pays more than 2 firsts for him they deserve the long term failure that's going to result. Draft picks are valuable!! Teams that mortgage their future for another team's players lose out more often than not. Just because a guy was a star on another team doesn't mean the stars are going to line up exactly the same way for you guys. Anyway it's going to be interesting to see where he goes.
I would agree it would work for both teams. However I don't know how any team can let a franchise QB go. Broncos were dumb to fire Shanahan and this will put them at ****** level. People starting to give Al Davis a run for his money
I just heard on NFL Network (just got it, thank goodness) that the Redskins are working HARD for a deal for Cutler.
My guess is, and I hate to say it 124, that the Jets will not get Cutler. I say this because there is a lot of interest for Cutler coming from NFC teams (Tampa especially) and I think Denver would if relatively equal deals are on the table ship him out of the AFC. Plus McDaniels and Belichick have history and that would be another possible reason the Jets won't land him. Also there is a rumor that the Broncos want a QB and defensive help out of this which neither bodes well for the Jets that don't have a QB to offer and Ryan will be stingy with giving up defensive guys. I'm not saying it won't happen but if it does I agree with Padre that the Jets may have to give up too much.
Maybe the Broncos send Cut-it-outler to Buffalo for Trent Edwards and a franchise to be named later.....
Now SI has an article up that when a Foxsports.com writer asked Cutler if he wanted to be traded he said "no" and that things have went to far. So who knows what this could lead to, but Cutler may actually be the next Favre. Link: http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/97592-cutler-changing-his-mind-on-trade?cnn=yes
Yeah this whole thing is just bizzare right now. I think there is a lot of blame to go around between the Broncos owner, front office, coach, and Cutler himself ofc. One of the stranger situations I can think of certainly. And the Redskins? Man, that franchise is just a mess, I cant wait till they post another 9-8 season with Fat Albert and Cutler lol.
I think what Cutler wanted was the Broncos to commit to him. Offer him some more money, tell him he's there guy now and forever stroke his ego a bit. I think he was trying to play hardball trying to get a better deal and some more love or get traded. I think he honestly thought they were going kiss his *** some more and offer him a better contract. But he wins either way. He wants to be the guy, he wants to be wanted. So if it's not at Denver he goes to a team that does want him. He'll be fine wherever he lands.
I wasn't sure of his contract, but according to the tv stations here in Denver, Cutler's got a 49mil contract.
True but still why make things worse. Just say that you want out and go. Not a big deal really since everyone already knows what's going on.
