He didn't want to participate in the off season program in Miami either, after he was done with the show. Once traded he actually DID participate in the off season work outs with the Redskins.

Can you blame him? All those poly tick types running around that city. The fans in the stands wearing plastic pig noses on their faces, etc...

Who knows, maybe it was an evil plot cooked up by The Tuna and Jason to get an extra pick

I was thinking the same. If the FO pulls this off, would we be seeing, "Parcells is god" comments & banners? Since we got a 2nd and JT at a discounted rate? Hypothetically speaking that is.

With all due respect, I tend to disagree. At least to some extent. Will they still focus on selecting a player, or players, that will improve their pass rush? Yes, I'm sure they will. But, I think it does change their draft board. At least as far as that first round pick is concerned.

In other words, instead of (possibly) feeling they have to take the best available DE/OLB, or hybrid at #25, with Taylor in fold they can focus more on using that pick on a WR (presumably Nicks), a CB (possibly Butler or S. Smith), or trade down to pick up more picks.

I think signing Taylor gives them more flexibility in the draft. Especially in how they use that first round pick.

    JMHO...

No issue here. We all have our own thoughts. But I gotta think even with JT there are still too many "what if's" with him. I would think of him more as a luxury than an every down player. If they bring him back and expect the JT from 2007 and get something closer to 2008 and passed on an opportunity in the draft because of him I would think that was just bad planning. I would not change my draft board one iota if he was re-signed.

Which sound right, JT would be an upgrade over Roth, but only on passing downs, which is really where he is suited to play, 3rd down pass rusher and back up OLB.

If money wasn't his motivation, why didn't he suggest to Mr. Snyder that he reduce his salary to the vet minimum since JT didn't feel like he earned his salary the previous year ?? That solves the cap issue for the Skins and at the vet minimum, JT would 'feel' better about his not playing up to where he thought he should ??

Money was part of the issue, no doubt...
