I thought the same thing too, man that would just suck....IMO how in the world could they justify that. That would be massively dissappointing.
Barracks... Processing Center, whatever... haha So essentially the idea is that the Others (Richard, Ben and Co.) were living amongst Dharma signs and pictures on the wall of people they murdered? The building was walking distance to the dock (which Ben identified) where Sun and Lapidus came onto shore, so its not like the Others weren't aware of this area. It just doesn't add up.
Thing is, we don't actually see how far Sun and Lepidus walk. During the processing, Chang/Candle/etc... asked Jack who his shuttle driver was (he said Lafleur). So the dock must be little ways away from the processing center and much further are the barracks. The Barracks are way inland and there is no way to dock anything, as seen here: Sun and Lapidus went to the docks and then found the processing center and met Christian. The Others would have no use for it, and likely let it decay.
well? thoughts? I'm a little disappointed. My buddy on the east coast told me this episode was "siiiiiiick"- yet I found it to be at about the same level as last week. A lot of the revelation moments were more like "well duh" moments or things that you would have assumed anyway. I did like that they tried to use hurley to clear the air a bit about the entire time travel deal. it seems like they were even poking fun at it a bit, so i really do believe they're just going to stick with the "you can't change anything" idea, which will lead the show down more of a morality/thought path over just crazy sci-fi lets do this so the future will change thing. i foresee a lot of moments like tonight where they were torn over saving ben, but knew it had to be done one way or the other. The kate/aaron storyline is just annoying to me, I don't like it. when they brought up about ben maybe remembering sayid shooting him, i was excited as to the possibilities of finding out ben knew all along. But then they just ended that with richard saying ben would have no memory of what got him there. the temple is definitely some sort of mind altering station.. and apparently has healing powers too. thoughts?
So was I. It was a bit disappointing to learn that he had would grow up with no knowledge of the event. It also throws out the theory that Sayeed's actions actually caused Ben to be the way he is.
I thought the banter between Hurley and the guy whose name I'm forgetting but I find hilarious... was well, hilarious... They could have done an hour of just that.
not really. Ben wouldn't have been given over to the Other's if Sayid hadn't shot him. Richard said "If I do this he will be one of us forever," and also "it will take away his innocence" or something like that. So Sayid is still the catalyst that changed Ben.
i thought the show was really good. I liked seeing Sawyer make the decisions he made. My one concern for the show has nothing to do with the show, I am a Life on Mars fan also and that series finale last night sucked. I HOPE HOPE HOPE Lost does not do the same in 1 year
Decent episode, liked it better than the past 2 weeks, they definitely are covering their *** with the "ben wont remember a thing" disclaimer and im wondering how far back his "memory loss" will go. He clearly remembered his dad during the purge so hes got to have some memories of the past. I like the mention of Ellie and Charles at the very end as leader of the others. I hope they start exploring the Others soon and give thise season some life. Next week looks like its a Ben/Locke episode tho (which bores me a little). on a good note, jack doesnt bother me as much as he did for a while there in seasons 3 and 4 - kate might not like it but i like new jack. Hurley is kind of useless this season - theyve thrown him in without any explanation of anything, he's almost an extra at this point. Where is Desmond and Faraday!!!
also, what do you guys think about sayid now? its a little too coincidental that hurley/miles made the point that they can die b/c it is their present now. did sayid just fulfill his purpose by creating the new ben and therefore has a date with the smoke monster soon (on a side note, how did the master assassin sayid not kill ben with a point blank shot)? Im dying to know about the temple and smokey!!
What was strange to me was that when they showed the flashback of a young adult Ben killing the Dharma people a few seasons ago, his dad was still a big drunken ***hole. Shortly before Sawyer and Kate took kid Ben to to Richard it seemed like Ben's father might have been realizing the error of his ways and that he wasn't the father he should be. So what causes him to revert back to the old way?
Hurley has always been a big extra. He's the mouthpiece for the fans. Same as Faraday is the mouthpiece for the producers, explaining time travel. The conversations Hurley has are very indicative of what the fans are saying. When Hurley told Miles he was confused (fans being confused) and Miles replied (get used to it) it was a conversation between fans and producers. Hurley is suppose to be the average joe thrown into the mix. Except he has a history and past. Plus he is the comedic character. I imagine he'll get more interesting when the numbers come back around to focus (they've appeared twice in big parts this season) and we'll see why he came back. As for right now, he's our us. I think Sayid is dead.dead.dead. He became a torturer/Killer, redeemed himself, became a torturer/killer, redeemed himself, became a killer, redeemed himself (this last time building houses for homeless), and is now a killer once again... As far as I'm concerned, that's too many times around the merry go round. After attempting murder on a 12 year old kid, what else can you do? Certainly not mundane island things... So, I'm betting he'll be getting axed and I bet it will come via the monster.
Yup, it loks that way for Sayid. As far as faraday goes, the producers better get "their mouthpiece" back onto the show and better getting into the details about the Others b/c the others is much more interesting to whats going on that Dharma.
If you're interested in Faraday, I have a very minor spoiler. No episode info though. You can feel safe clicking, I'm not typing details or anything. Spoiler Faraday will be back, although I have no idea in what capacity. He has a centric episode coming up, episode 100. Since it's a milestone, I except it to be god awesome. For a little more detail on the above minor spoiler, click here. Spoiler It's titled "the Variable" and is supposedly a spin off of "The constant" from last season. The constant was such a trippy great episode, so I have high hopes
This is a long read, but it's a good one. I've bolded the part that most of you will be interested in reading.
I hope Sayid lasts till the end of the show, he's one of my favorite characters. He (like Hurley) asks the questions that reasonable people would ask under the circumstances... not like Jack (duh duh duh, I'm gonna make a sandwich)....
By the way, you guys heard the conversation between the guy, who was escorting Kate and Sawyer to Richard, and Richard... "Ellie and Charles"... and what if they find out, Alpert says he doesn't answer to either of them... Charles Whidmore right? And isn't Ellie Faraday's floozy?
here you go Paul. Hurley and miles behind the scenes time travel discussions. Funny stuff. http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/index?pn=podcast#t=3421
from another message board ********************************************************* i think ben does remember all of this. why did he want kate and sawyer ? they were on the list...they were good people because in his past, they helped ben. why did he have such an infatuation with juliette? because in his past she tried to save him. why did jack not really belong? because he didn't want to help young ben. if you remember, jack wasn't on "the list" and the presumption is that he is only brought to the others because of his ability to help ben with his tumor. i think hurley is on to something. wouldn't ben remember? although richard says he won't, perhaps it's a subconcious thing...i don't know...just got me thinking. ******************************************************* ...so picking up on a thought I had earlier, if Widmore and Hawking are the co-leaders of the Others, it gives credence to the theory that Widmore is Faraday's dad.
i think i have a lesser view of juliet because she only (and always) makes that same face. but she is certainly hotter than kate. then again, I also think sun is much hotter than kate. Kate really only beats charlotte, who scares me
I don't really agree about Ellie being a co-leader. she had no animosity towards Ben. I suspect she had an important role within the group, but Widmore was in charge. Which is why he hates Ben. I don't think Hawking was exiled like Widmore either.
Spoiler alert. This spoiler is about Lost mythology of sorts. The first spoiler is not in detail, just a taste for what will come. It's pretty awesome. Spoiler We will see the Temple from the inside in the Finale For a LOT more detail... Spoiler The Temple is Egyptian looking. There are large columns with tapestry on the walls. The images depict Egyptain figures kneeling to a sun (CK: Ra?... I'm going to study up on the description and see if it relates) and the sun has an eye in the center. The suns rays have hands. There's also a spinning wheel. The spoiler guy wonders if it's somehow related to the donkey wheel of time travel? Ben, Locke, and some unknown guy were involved in the scene.
Attention all you LOST fans. I've been in a debate as to who is the hottest character on Lost. I posted a thread complete with pictures in the Ladies Lounge (not obscene or anything no worries), and would like for you all to vote and comment on it. In case you are afraid of the other threads in the Ladies Lounge, here is a link to the thread http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?t=30021 I'd like to know what you all think. I would have included some more characters on the thread (like Naomi, Amy, Nadia, etc.) but I only did the main ones for now. Feel free to name whoever you want.
