Ok so now that he goes out with a championship, which is cool for him. It says alot that these kids stayed in school, IMO. Now we can get to a new debate, is Tyler H. a modern day Christian Laettner? What kind of pro does he become? And do Ty Lawson, and Ellington stick around another yr?

Here's my view: Tyler will be another Sean Mays in the NBA, IMO. He will never be a star and will be forgotten in a couple of yrs. He will never be anything more then a role player. The reason why I say this is simple, look at history. How many college basketball players who stayed all 4 yrs and went the NBA have become successful players? Okafer,Mays,Morrison,on and on....dear lord and they all played for the Bobcats at one time.

Ty Lawson on the other hand, has the potential to be a very good G in the NBA. His stock right now is high after winning a championship, AND all the hype put behind him being the X factor in the Heels championship run. Ellington, I dont know, I think he should stay another yr. Maybe work as the star of the team, see how he does.

Lawson and Ellington are gone, imo. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ed Davis jump to NBA as well. Not that he's ready, but it's all about potential these days.

I don't think he will be a superstar, but I think he can be a David Lee type. The kid is grounded, by that I mean he works hard, takes nothing for granted and wants to be the best he can be. Mays was full of himself and never worked hard, Laettner was another one that could have been better, but lived on his big shot in the tournament and didn't work hard.

    Tyler will work hard!

PS, I maybe a bit bias, he is good friends with my brother.

I think Tyler will be a "fine" NBA player, certainly I think he will be better then Laetner, especially if he can work on his outside game and can land somewhere he can be a 6th man type.

I mean heck, if Mike Dunleavy's son can play in the NBA, Tyler can.

As long as he drops the faux flop that is...in the NBA you'll get a foot on your chest if you try and pull that move off to often.

Laetner was a top 3 pick and he was "okay" a 15 pt scorer type.

Tyler's problem (IMO) is his outside game is weak, in the NBA where he must go up against size every night, he won't be able to bang like he did at UNC.

I'd like to see him go somewhere and be a 6th man, to me that suits his game and intensity.
