New Free Safety Gibril Wilson acknowledged that the Dolphins are going to be a primary "Quarters" coverage team this upcoming season in a recent interview with Kim Bokamper. Wilson discusses Quarters coverage and other scheme notes around 3:30 into the interview. http://www.wqam.com/index.php?page=347 Wilson also added language that makes me believe we will be stepping deeper into the full Quarters philosophy where we can expect to see 9 in the box vs the run and full 4 Quarters vs the pass all sorts of different situations this year. Now that we know our base scheme, it'll be easy - not to mention fun - seeing how we assign our responsibilities vs various formations, plays, and teams. I will say you can expect to see a bunch of run stuffing when teams try to run on us in obvious situations, and that you will see some serious swarms to the ball this year. Thanks to phinnhedd for bringing this interview to my attention as I had missed it as it validated my hopes for our scheme after the Bell resigning and Wilson FA addition.

FS/SS William Moore is another name that keeps coming up, and I've been told in another thread that Clemson ran alot of Quarters and have some players that could setep in and play well (Hamilton?). I expect to see us go after a Coverage CB in the draft

good call! I'm psyched for our new defense. Last year we had a surprise on offense, this year it will be on defense! I'll be shocked if we don't pick a CB in the first round! i wonder if the coaches are upset with wilson for making this public knowledge.
I'm sure we will run the D in preseason. It will not be a secret. Would you assume that we will change the D but not practice it and try it in a game before the season starts? Its not like it is some wildcat version of defense.
all I want to know, is if we're going to be a blitzing defense or wait and react defense. i dont like read and react. i like making **** happen.
