Alright. I look forward to playing Atlanta for week 1. Good storyline, at the very least. Maybe we can start Matty Ryan's sophomore slump!
Hey you. You're lovin' that NFLN, huh? Yeah! This schedule is going to make us have to order a lot of extra beers at "Miami Mike's" during this upcoming season. I guess the schedule is a good thing for Mike as long as we end up winning At the end of a few of these games, he may have to pass out some aqua colored Prozac to go with those aqua colored shots. Ciao' sis!
Was just going to keep posting in my club thread, but here is what has been leaked so far . . . . First, Jets @ Texans week 1, it was accidentally put up on the Jets official website and taken down. Also lots of Giants leaks including Week 1 vs Washington Week 2 @ Dallas on SNF Week 17 @ Minnesota Arizona on a SNF'er
The Dolphins website will post the 2009 schedule at 7:00 Eastern. See link: http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/news/gameschedule.asp This is good news. Wasn't sure if the schedule would be released by other sources before or after the NFL Network special.
WARNING POSSIBLE DOLPHINS SCHEDULE SPOILER BELOW . . . FIN-O LOOK AWAY NOW A guy on Pewter Report claims to have the Bucs schedule, not sure how legit this is, but it would give us our first locked in Dolphins game.
Bears news including what will be FIVE primetime games (3 SNF, 1 MNF, 1 NFLN). To me this pretty much seals it, I would be shocked if Miami did not have AT LEAST FOUR primetime games. Leaks are coming fast now people.
http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80fc1f5c Here's a video that talks about Miami having the toughest schedule in the NFL in 2009.
With an hour to go here are my final predictions for our sched . . . SNF against the Steelers somewhere between weeks 3 and 6. May get a flex period game scheduled vs New England. 2 MNF's, one against San Diego in very late October or very early November and one against Buffalo in December (in Miami). 1 NFLN game which I am guessing will be against the Panthers. I think we will start @Atlanta (obviously). Jacksonville in the second half of the season (Nov/Dec) Tennessee and Houston in the first half of the season. No game against New England until at least week 9. Just my predictions, no leaks on this one.
Same here. Living in Savannah, all 3 games are within driving distance. Now just 20 min to find out when I am planning these roadies!
I'll fly home to Lauderdale for one and drive to nashville for one. I usually make it to three but everything is far away this year.
2 monday nights 1 thursday night early bye We have a Sunday night but it can be flexed so I don't count it

1. No cold weather games! 2. Don't like going to the West coast to play SD on a short week. 3. Don't like not playing NE early in the season. By the time we play Brady, he'll be back to 100%. 4. I like playing the jets twice early in the season. They'll improve as the season goes on.
4 Primetime games HOME vs Colts Week 2 Monday night HOME vs Jets Week 5 Monday night AT Carolina Week 11 NFLN (week before thanksgiving) HOME vs Pats Week 13 Sunday Night
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GAME ON BOYS JEST JESTS JESTS JESTS **** the steelers the dolphins are comin to town!
We are NOT going to use that as an excuse. Last year the team that started the year with the toughest schedule, based on what makes us now have the toughest....wound up WINNING THE SUPER BOWL. The Pittsburgh Steelers!! No excuses.
Yeah, that is a good point. Done with them by week 8 and when we beat them twice, we will own all tie breaks. This is not going to be an easy year...but then again, it shouldn't be. We need to beat the best to be the best!!

A lot of teams look at the season in 4 game quarters. Quarter 1 @ Atlanta COLTS (MNF) @ San Diego BILLS I like our chances of going 3-1 or 4-0. The Colts game oughtta be the toughest. Playing San Diego on the road on a short week will be tough. I say we go 3-1, with a home loss to the Colts. Quarter 2 jETS (MNF) SAINTS @ jets @ Pats I hope we sweep the jets, but the odds are we won't. Doubtful we beat Pats on the road. We go 2-2 this quarter. Quarter 3 TAMPA BAY @ Panthers @ Bills Pats This is the easiest quarter. We better win these games. I say we lose at Panthers, but win the rest. 3-1 Quarter 4 @ Jags @ Titans TEXANS STEELERS Tough way to end the season, but we'll be tested for the playoffs. Hopefully, we finally beat the Texans! I say we go 2-2. I got us going 10-6. Of course, we got a long way to go, but that's my initial impression.
Good point. I don't even mind the early bye. We could enter the bye with an excellent record. We exit the bye with a home game against the Saints. I assume teams that exit a bye at home do historically do well.
Ugh! Looks like we're delaying that honeymoon til late Sunday in the keys to go to the Saints game. The Dolphins are home for the entire month of October, but a bye week keeps them from any Oct 18th game. Damn damn damn! Forget the strength of schedule, that means notheing year to year. How many teams were delighted to see Miami and Atlanta on theire schedules last year? But this schedule is brutal in some parts. No home field advantage games: No day games in September, and no games at1 in October. A west coast trip after a Monday night game! Week 8-15 will be the brutal stretch: 6 out of 8 games on the road. 4 divison games, three of those on the road, which includes the only cold weather game of the season; Nov 29 at Buffalo. I like finishing with 2 games at home ate the end of Dec and beginning of Jan. 3 out of 4 primetime games at home is a benefit too. Especially for a team that hasn't had many in the last 5 years. Home fans will get loud!
Like how you broke it down. And while I am not at all ready to make predictions, which I don't normally do anyway...want to comment on your breakdown. We could sweep the 1st quarter. While Manning is Manning, I am not convinced they Colts are the same Colts. New HC, continued to lose players, Manning doesn't have any of his big receivers other then Clark. And I think we can beat the other three, while I agree the short turn around heading to SD will be tough, but if we are going to have a short turn around, better it is early. Second quarter, I think we can beat the Jets twice. Could be their first game in primetime with a new HC. Will take time for the defense to come together and right now, they don't have a QB. Pats will be tough, but the key is to get pressure on Brady. Third Quarter: Don't know about easiest part, no games are easy in the NFL, but I hear what you are saying. Fourth quarter is brutal, depending on how those teams are playing and how important to the Steelers that last game may be. I would be happy with 10 wins. Last year we learned how to win close games when we needed to, we have to continue that. but my motto for the season... IF WE WANT TO BE THE MAN WE HAVE TO BEAT THE MAN!! GO PHINS!!
Bring on the first victim, hell there all the same to me. Play well, we win, play like crap we lose. At least we will find out how our rebuilding process is going.
Here is the way I see it...Right now. Of course this all changes if we sign a couple of players and with who we draft. ---- Quarter 1 @ Atlanta WIN COLTS (MNF) LOSS @ San Diego LOSS BILLS WIN JETS (MNF) WIN SAINTS WIN @ jets WIN @ Pats LOSS TAMPA BAY WIN @ Panthers LOSS @ Bills LOSS Pats WIN @ Jags WIN @ Titans LOSS TEXANS WIN (We have to win eventually vs them) STEELERS LOSS That puts us at 9-7. We very easily could be 8-8, 7-9 or on the other side be 10-6 or 11-5. I think 9-7 is a very safe bet at this point.
Breath my friend, breath. It just gives the Patriots more time to get thier life insurance policies updates
I just can't look at a schedule and say, we'll win that one or we'll lose that one. I just can't do it.
Really, it is easy if you know a lot about all the teams. Seriously, I do this every year when the schedule comes out and then adjust as needed before the season starts.
