I've heard of Audie Murphy and "The White Death" but not this dude:

I really hope that story is true for the sheer awesomeness of it.

I would highly suggest you know the honor, and pride that goes into that sissy sword that the Marines so proudly display. It is not very sissy if you have the honor to use one of them in a change of command/retirement ceremony for Lt. Col. Kelley one of the last living of the walking dead. This Lt. Colonel survived in a war, when very few Marines did, as they were hunted down by many, and I was very touched and honored to be the platoon commander at his change of command/retirement ceremony. See this is usually done by all officers, but Lt. Col. Kelley believed, and loved his Non-commissioned officers so much, he went against general's wishes, so he could go out his way. Semper Fi.

You gotta love and respect any officer who REALLY respects the point of the spear. He sure gets my salute!

Bro, I have all the respect in the world for the Marines and the rest of our Servicemen and women, I didnt choose that quote to mock them or anything like that, I just wanted to highlight one of the men mentioned in the article.

There's Audie Murphy and then there's everybody else. Who is a veteran of the 3rd Infantry Division, the most badass division in the Army. As is yours truly. :)

It was just a joke. Take it easy, typical Marine. J/K, sorry, I never pass up a chance to take some playful jabs at a Marine. I've been working in a joint service environment the last three years.

Although, I would have to go with the 82nd for the badass division!

Yeah, those Marines are awfully fun to mess with!!! While I was stationed at Bragg, they used to come up from Camp Lajune (Spelling?) for training exercises and mock war games. They used to hang out in only 2 bars in Fayetteville when they came up. I was in the ammo section for a short period of time and we used to take CS and set them off in those bars when they were in town!

Had a grand time watching them drooling all over themselves! LOL!!!

No disrespect John just fun!!!:knucks:

I'm sticking with 3ID. I'm still in awe of how quickly and forcefully they laid waste to Saddam's govt. back in 2003. They were the spearhead of that invasion.

Unfortunately 3ID has moved to the states so I was based out of Fort Stewart, not Germany. Stinks b/c I was really hoping to go there and it never happened in eight years.
