no sense in going for one the 2nd day imo, either go 1st or dont go at all.. james casey in the the third would be the better choice then a receiver on the 2nd day that will have a hard *** time getting PT from our young core. I challenge any receiver thats drafted {if} by this regime to come in and take playing time from ginn, bess, Cam and brandon...i dont think so.

So, if they aint got the cahones to take nicks or britt then forgetaboutit.

I just believe that a wr is the lowest of priorities for this front office. We have functional wide outs. We have a QB who cannot stretch the field. I think a strong running game and a powerful Oline will allow any QB to pick apart a defense with any handful of wide receivers. You get 8 men in the box Ginn becomes a huge threat even on a bad day.

Call me old school but I believe in starting with power and finishing with FINness. With that said we draft atleast 2 LB's 2 DB's a DL an OL and some depth at offense. = another decent season and playoff appearance. but nothing special. I dont think we draft a WR on day 1. We will but not on day 1

I don't agree. We were down to nothing as far as depth last year. Another Camarillo or Bess in day 2 would be a smart move if we could get that lucky. We can't believe that we actually have depth at the position even though it is not our greatest need. I will be surprised if we don't get a WR somewhere and keep him on the team.

If you are into stats/metrics, we have a pretty good receiver corp:

    Some interesting numbers...

I don't know if the numbers are really the effect we see on the field, or if they are a bit skewed with a few plays, but I personally prefer that we draft defense first this year and hit the O later on. I think our Offense in general is not flashy, but effective, but our D has some pretty big holes to fill at LB and CB.

there was too much talk about our reciever's last year not being able to get seperation consistantly including our #1 in ginn. cammy is a slight question mark..how will he come back from his injury? if we do(and i hope so)take a reciever in the draft it will be to replace wilford. we need that big strong endzone/over the middle target. all our reciever's are small and fast other than wilford who couldn't catch a ball if they religalized stick'em.

i agree wr may not be our top need but it is a need. none of our recievers scare anybody so i'd rather go ahead and grab that big strong guy now considering it usually takes a few years for them to come on.

I'm kind of surprised to see Holt not end up going to Carolina, though at the end of the day, Jacksonville is relatively close to home for him.

He would have been a solid addition, but thus far this regime has shown itself unwilling to go after big name CBs or WRs ... or at least not pay above market price for them.

Now ... if for some reason we don't get a WR in the draft ... I'll be pretty shocked.

    over there
I wanted Holt myself. He STILL has a bunch in the tank and would have taught the kids how to play receiver.Class act all the way.
The 3 amigos just didn't want him.TBH,their rebuilding plan is better than mine at this time.(or so I hope)

I have a feeling Wilford isn't such a forgotten man to the coaches.

I just don't think that this regime values WR like some other franchises...Don't be too disappointed if we don't go after a WR in the first 3 rounds. There really are bigger holes in our team than WR...I'd take CB (although that is another position they don't value like some other teams do), OLB, ILB, NT, TE and/or RB before WR...
