Can anyone offer any advice on getting out of credit card debt? We have not used our cards in years and are struggling to make payments to keep everything current but it is difficult. Is there any recommended way to consolidate everything into one monthly payment, and if that is done does it create a negative impact on your credit score? Thanks.
To make matters worse one of the debts had been sold off to a collection agency and that agency just had the court serve me with papers this morning to appear in court on July 2. I know I can probably negotiate a deal with them to prevent this from happening, but I am curious to see if anyone knows how much these places usually buy down a debt for. Anyone know anything about that? When I call them to make arrangements I would like to have a rough idea on how much they have invested in the deal.
If your credit is good enough, you could get a personal line of credit to pay your debts off. I did that. Paid off my credit cards and my car for less then my monthly car payment. Its been heaven sent.
