Pat White is being brought here for one reaosn and one reason only... The Wildcat.

Doesn't appear to be a natural fit at any position. Lacks prototypical quarterback size and is not strong enough to take hits for a full season. Relied on wide passing lanes and play-action to get the ball downfield at WVU. Needs to prove he has the hands to play in the slot as a receiver. Does not always secure the ball, and will keep it in his strong (left) hand even when running right. Worked exclusively in the shotgun and spread offense. Can throw it deep but is not accurate on well-defended passes of more than 10-12 yards. Struggles with accuracy when on the move. Makes too many throws off his back foot. Doesn't have great touch on short throws. Delivery is stiff and mechanical. Lacks patience in the pocket, will take off too soon and misses open targets.

Compares To: ANTWAAN RANDLE EL, Washington --

Seems to me he's going to play widereciever and QB for the wildcat..

ESPN just said something about him maybe converting to a CB if thats the case then i really dont mind the pick. But what are the chances of that happening, I REALLY dislike this pick.

While I dont like it myself as he said in interviews his heart is only in it to be a starting QB. so if we try to convert him to wideout hes not going to be happy.

As for the wildcat It gives the team options. See if he plays in the wildcat the defense can't assume ronnine is getting it. He can and will pass the ball around.

The only person I can see really pissed about all this is Chad Henning. I mean He cant sniff the filed now unless someone gets hurt.

He's the er apparent but Pat will play alot more than him and might become the real next QB.. I mean he can run it, pass it, and hes quick..

I dont like it myself but it does expand the wildcat more..

I am surprised but think given some time I could get used to this. Our offense should be powerful AND exciting next year.

if thats true that makes no sense to me. why not just take a CB like Sean Smith? This pick just disgusts me to no end. Sintim and Barwin go the next two picks afterwards. Disgusting. Vontae Davis I can live with but not White right now. If we pick up Jarron Gilbert or Paul Kruger, it would make me a lot happier.

    This is a horrible pick...

    * We run the wildcat 5-10 times a game!
    * Pat White is not going to run over people like Ronnie Brown will
    * As a WR he's useless...

It's an awful pick and there's no defense for it... WTF!

unfortunately every time this guy gets on the field the defense will know exactly what is coming. the other teams in our div are distancing themselfs from us as it looks like we are heading back to the bottom of the bracket.and with so many other needs. i thought i was scraching my head on the bronco's picks. i'm too sober for this kinda draft lol.

Could have got Pat White at next pick. We could have used Sintim or Barwin at that pick.

I am in love with the Vontae Davis pick, we got what we needed.

Pat White...ugh. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand why they took him, but I believe that's a little too early.

I'm hoping Paul Kruger is still there at 56.

i think that when Carolina jumped us to grab Everett Brown, the braintrust figured either Simtim or Barwin would possibly last til our next pick, but not Pat White for some reason.

that's the only thing i can come up with...

    Exactly.....

Mikey Mycok did have white rated pretty high, but to pass on Barwin and Sintim is rediculous

Right buddy, we picked a specialty player with our high 2nd round pick? WTF I mean seriously we have so many positions that we need to address before we pick a player solely to run the wildcat where Ronnie was doing a great job at in the first place.

Package Pat White and a pick for Boldin plz

Great... But no one cares. Feel free not to participate in a message board discussion of our draft, because this place is full of opinions. Not everyone wants to sit around congratulating Parcells and Co. being masters of the universe.

    Pat White is a waste.

yea i guess it could be worse..i could be a jets fan bwah.but in all seriousness, someone said we have to look at white as a wr but white has stated time and time again that he wants to be a qb so it will be interesting. i just feel we had the personnel to run the wc very effectively. i could see if they brought in say percy harvin or pick white later on to help the wc. this wasn't bpa or a need at the particular pick.

I called this pick a long time ago. Beck is out and we carry White as our 3rd QB who can also come in as an extra WR. All kind of options with him, he did everything right at the Combine and outthrew everyone else, I really like the pick for us.
