    Yeah I think they're done.

MAF is a freakin' beast. He absolutely kept you guys in that game yesterday. We did everything we could to you guys.. basically I think we out played you guys 10-1 yesterday and the only reason why you guys won is because of MAF and us not capitalizing on 7 (?!) power plays. The one score where crosby slid into the net can happen to anyone and the other goal was an empty netter. The 2nd goal was great, though.

As I said, MAF absolutely kept you guys in that game; and he will keep you in the playoffs if they do knock the flyers off. I believe the flyers are just as good as the penguins are in every way with the exception of their goaltending and their overall defense. Their offense is great but it's hard to score on a goalie that's already good and is red hot on top of that.

KING Henrik stirkes again! 38 mother f'ing saves tonight in a great playoff Hockey game.

    2-1 Rangers win.

Rangers now hold a 3-1 lead in the series. Friday night we can hopefully finish off the Washington Ovechkin's and move on to Bawston.

It could have been a little bit of both. The Bruins just wore them down physically. The Habs came out and wanted to hit and did so, but also took a ton of penalties and then by games 3 and 4 they were spent. They had injuries that did not help. The Bruins scoring depth killed them. Being able to roll all 4 lines and having 3 lines that can and will score is a HUGE plus in the playoffs.

The Bruins were good in this series though. That said, Timmy Thomas was not really tested because the Bruins were airtight defensively all series.

Lundqvist is the best goalie in the NHL. No doubt about it.

I want the Rangers. I want Sean Avery to be Sean Avery and take ridiculous penalties so thew Bruins powerplay can wear them out. The only way the Rangers can beat the Bruins in a 7 game series is if Henrik stands on his head every night and if the Rangers can find a way to score a few goals. The Bruin defense is much better than the Capitals....

...I'm looking forward to it but they need to finish the Caps first.

I am not scared of Bawston at all, I think they are extremely over-rated, but hey, we will hopefully see once we finish off the Ovechkin's.

I think right now Roberto Luongo would have a little bit to say about that. Dude has stopped 131 out of 136 shots faced.

Henrik 131 of 138, right up there.

Game 3 killed his statistics, our defense around him was horrible.

Yah, best record in the East (21 points and 10 wins better then your Rangers), seven 20 goal scorers, the likely Norris winner (Chara) and Vezina winner (Tim Thomas) 2nd most goals for, 1st in goals against, 4th best powerplay....

    ...how can they be "overrated"?

It only took Ovechkin 32 shots on goal to finally get one past Lundqvist. Although he hit the post like 8 times.

  13. anlgp

    anlgp ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A

Announcers say the post counts as part of the goalie. I don't believe that **** for a minute. You've beat the goalie, which is the only way the puck found the post in the first place.

Doesn't mean anything. If a shot misses the post by a MILLIMETER and goes wide off the backboard...did the goalie get beat there too?

Just a feeling I have and statistics don't always tell the story.

    We shall see.

  16. anlgp

    anlgp ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B A

wide is different than hitting the post. shots that hit the post have a chance to ricochet in. shots that go wide have no chance.

Usually when the phrase "off the post" is used, it is not a goal.

    San Jose Sharks
    Detroit Red Wings
    Vancouver Canucks...

A post counts for nothing. The goal is considered the net area, the posts hold the net. If a shot hits the post it is not even a statistic.

Krejci and Ryder were unbelievable last night. That give-and-go with 30 seconds left in the 1st period to give the Bruins the lead was a crushing blow to Montreal. The spin move that Krejci used on Higgins to gain seperation and control the puck was beautiful and what gets lost in that play was Lucic's willingness to take the body to move the puck with a tip pass that eventually set up Krejci. Bergeron's pass to Kessel that set him up for the breakaway goal coming out of the penalty box was great as well.

As far as Timmy, I was rather unimpressed with him last night. He did a poor job in my estimation of controling pucks and he got beat a handful of times... luckily each time (with the obvious exception of Kostityn's wrister) they either hit the post or barely missed the net but he was beaten nonetheless. Overall though, he had a successful series and made some big time saves in the early portion of Game 3.

Also, how fitting that the last image we might ever see of Mike Komisarek in Montreal is him taking a cheap shot and going high on Milan Lucic? Priceless.

We can only hope, Uni, that the Rangers find a way to finish off the Caps in that series. That would be a dream 2nd round scenario... the Rangers can't score and the Bruins have the best 5-on-5 team in hockey.

Flyers took it to us last night, gotta give them credit.

Not complaining...but something tells me that the refs were overcompensating for people saying the Pens get all the calls. There were a few REALLY questionable calls against us, and BLATENT non-calls on the Flyers for interference.

They still outplayed the Pens though. Back to Philly!

If the Ducks do happen to win... I want the next team that plays them to kick there a-ses... IMO though, the SHARKS are the best team in California... I hate the Ducks... they were only cool when Disney owned them and they were known as the mighty ducks...

Typical Sharks no show in the playoffs.

The Ducks will get rocked by the Red Wings IMO.

there were a few calls that shouldn't have been called against the pens but a few that should have been that didn't get called as well so to that it's all the same..

pressure is on the penguins IMO. if they lose game six it's a total cluster****.

I don't think it's typical of the Sharks doing that... I just think they seem to not want the cup as badly as the Ducks do... which is sad...

and like I said, if the Ducks move on... some other team better kick there dirty bird butts out of contention...

In 2007/08 they finished 2nd overall, were co-favorites going into the playoffs and got bounced in the 2nd round by a much lesser Stars team.

In 2006/07 they were the 4th seed in the West and again could have been considered players in the West. They lost in the 2nd round.

In 2005/06 they did not get out of the 2nd round.

In all three of those years they had very high expectations going into the playoffs and in all three years they flamed out. This year is VERY typical for Joe Thornton. He has 5 playoff goals and 32 points in 39 career playoff games for the Sharks. This is a guy that has averaged 1.2 points per game in 4 years as a Shark. He is a playoff disaster. He has yet to realize that in the playoffs you can not slow the game down like he wants to, you have no time and space and have to make your decisions fast.

Meh, I standby the Sharks still & support them to the fullest... Just like I do with my hometeam... So, none of this negative stuff about them won't bother me because, I have FAITH in my teams & will always be loyal to them...

flyers deserved to lose that game and the series they were up 3-0 and suck it up big time to lose 4-3. good, i'm glad they didn't win it all this year they don't deserve the cup.

flyers lost this game and pittsburgh won the series because they're the better team.

For the billionth offseason in a row the Flyers need to address their goaltending. It's been the same since Ron Hextall was packaged up for Eric Lindros.

we got hextall back tho.. and ever since he has left it has been the same.

we have forwards like a mother****er and one good defensive pair (and sbisa waiting in the wings) but who knows what else.

    also, goaltending?????

    :pity:

  39. Devils were blown out 4-0 last night, so the series goes to Game #7.... always exciting, but I'd have preferred to finish up last night. :(

You're not giving them their due bro. The Flyers took it to the Pens in that game, what changed everything was Maxime Talbot - KNOWING he was gunna get his *** kicked - starting that fight.

Woke the Pens up and they rallied behind him.
