Yeah, just read somewhere he was projected as a 5th rounder (so, let's say 6th for sake of argument). Sheesh...another reach pick?

    I yi yi...

I guess I was hoping for some DT depth with both Scott and Taylor still on the board. Or maybe ILB with Beckwith/Brinkley or maybe even a guy like Sidbury. Eh, hopefully we can coach him up and make him a player.

Or lets just say the 4th. Then it's not a reach.
You can't just make things up to help your argument.

Two things I noticed about this pick:

1.) Pat White is really going to play QB and will be listed as a QB. He might play some reciever, but he will be a QB first and foremost. I expect him to be our Wild Cat QB and our 3rd string QB as well. All the John Beck lovers get ready, he is going to be traded for something shortly.

2.) The clock got all the way down to like 30 seconds. That tells me there was some internal discussions as to who we should pick. I think certain people wanted to go after one player and other people wanted another player. Something was definately going on in our War Room, I just hope we ended up picking the right player and that there isn't a divide in the War Room now.

    Whaaa??? Making stuff up...WTF???!!!

Besides, even if he is a 4th rounder, it's still a reach ('cause he was picked in the third)!

i dont understand this draft one bit. i get the Davis and Smith picks. but the other 3 is just absolutely baffling. insane if you will..

ok, i get it, we have a need at WR. but we picked 3 of them that arent very good. 1 of them never even playing the position. wow...

Sorry we picked 2 WR's not three. Pat White is a QB and will compete as a QB.
Although he will see more snaps than Henne this season due to the WILDCAT. Pat White and Chad Henne will compete for the starting gig next season.

I don't care which one starts, I just want them both to be great for the FINS!!!

so basically your telling me they dont feel great about Hennes future as our QB? even though theyve already said they want him starting by 2010?

if they feel great about him, they wouldnt take a QB that played in exact opposite of a pro system in college at pick #44..

I think they feel great about Henne's future with this team. I think Henne has what it takes to lead a team in the NFL.

I also think that Pat White is great for a team that runs the wildcat. They seem to think that he can be a QB as a starter. That is why they have stated that he will compete as QB not WR.

So Henne will have to compete for the starting gig after Chad P's time is over in Miami. I am not sure who will win...but I trust the FO and the best player will start.

    If that is Henne...great.
    If that is White...great.

    But they both will compete...

This draft is all about the passing game. We drafted some very good players to help defend the pass and then spent the rest of our picks so far offensive passing game players. We seriously have addressed 2 of our most serious needs in this draft. We will the firepower to throw the ball. We will have the talent to shut down Randy Moss and Terrel Owens. (I hope so at least!) I don't agree with all the picks. I think I would have loved to shore up our pass rush some more. We passed on a ton of great LB's this year.
I'm guessing our FO thought the front 7 was fine really picked 1 or 2 areas to focus all their attention on.

I don't agree or like all the picks. However I can definitely see and understand our draft strategy. It's obvious our guys have a plan. I can't wait to see how this season turns out.

No, I said "let's say 6th for sake of argument" because someone else (texanphinatic, I think) said he thought Turner was considered a 7th rounder. It's a figure of speech dude, not an argument. Besides, why you gotta be so nit picky anyway?

And, what's the difference? Call it a 5th, 6th or 7th, my point is still the same (and valid). If he was considered a late round pick, taking him in third was a reach, was it not?

Never mind. Don't answer that. I'm over it already.

    Yeah. Me too.
All the negativity around here was getting to me and I picked on you.
But I'm over it, we'll see in a year what kind a draft this is shaping up to be.
    No hard feelings dude.

Here's to Frantz Joseph being taken by someone. I'm pulling for the guy. I think he's a better football player than most think.

He should have been a higher pick. Seattle is going to get a steal with him. I'm just glad he got drafted. The whole town was rooting for him.

How in the hell did Rashad Jennings last until the end of the 7th round? And, why didn't we take him?

every year fans and analyst have tons of prospects as mid rounders that no team touches until the 7th or UDFAs. there are a lot of guys like that.

Well, now that the draft is over, all that's left is to see how these guys pan out. I know there's been quite a bit of debate re; who we took (vs. who we didn't take), which is good. It just shows how passionate we all are as Dolfans. I know I expressed my frustration over a pick or two. But, the truth is we won't know for 2-3 seasons whether or not a pick was a good pick. And, whether or not it was an overall good draft.

So, I think we need to just take a deep breath, take a step back, and wait and see how this all plays out. For better or worse, it's over for this year. Let's just hope we hit more than we missed. And, let's hope we're a better team for it.

    G Man...out!
