Draft day is easily the best day to simply surf around this place.
Some of you guys are so negative it's hilarious.
It so funny how if the FO picks a guy you didn't want or project, it's a horrible pick.
I know 50 of you guys are gonna reply with the standard, "It's a message board dude, we're just debating the picks."
But that's not what's happening, some of you guys are going off the deep end.
But keep it up, because it really is entertaining.
    I love this place!

It is ironic because even the other site's general sentiment is less negative than here. Same with what I have heard on the radio and NFL network.

I DO agree with the people here regarding the Hartline pick though. Who would actually want a wide receiver from Ohio State? :D

Mayock and majority of the NFLN staff is really complimentary of our draft.
We're, for the 2nd straight year, drafting chunks of specific positions.
Last year was OL and DL.
Receivers and DBs this year. Im optimistic theres a method to this madness.

Well...........:dunno:...it is a message board now isn't it?
But you are right. Some fans are totally ripping our draft simply because it's different from their own vision of how it was all supposed to unfold.
We've seen a few players drafted that most of us aren't very familiar with (if at all) so it's bad pick.
I'll admit I'm unsure of the Pat White pick simply because if he's going to be a factor in the wildcat formation then he'll have to be included in our base offense at some level.
Neither am I convinced that the 2 WRs we picked were the way to go - myself I had hoped for an ILB and either OLB or NT.
But..at the end of the day (gotta love those Sparano sound bytes) I can admit that most likely our FO has some knowledge that I don't have concerning both the picks that I wanted and the picks that they made.
Incidentally, I do like that Clemons pick.

We can debate picks and criticize all we want. The bottom line is we have a FO that knows what they are doing. I went into this thing not becoming emotionally attached to any prospect. Just trusting that the FO will make the right decision makes draft day so much more entertaining.

This is another great draft class. Even if some of you guys don't think so right now.

    Cheers!

But it's one thing to say you're unsure of a certain for whatever reason.
It's a completely different thing to say this pick is horrible or that pick is horrible, just because you don't like the guy or you never heard of him before.
If you listen to people around here, it would seem pretty obvious that Bill Parcells has turned into a blubbering idiot overnight.

I know it. It's too bad too because at one time Parcells was considered to be very savvy with player personnel. :lol:I wish we could have had him way back in then, don't you? :escape:

I think some of the people are forgetting that we were one season away from the bottom of the league. Despite 11-5 and divsion champs, we are still rebuilding. People don't realize that when rebuilding and upgrading positions, you need to get groups of them. We are still a work in progress and people need patience.

you already said whats wrong with it yourself

it doesnt matter how far someone takes it. no one is saying we are going to be terrible because some disagree with picks. some people just disagree differently. some people just say "well i dont like the pick", "i dont agree with the pick, but ill put trust in the FO" and some people say "this pick ****in sucks", "what a terrible ****in pick"..

both are saying the same thing, i dont like taking pat white in the first 3 rounds, much less with our first 2nd. i think we took turner a round to high(i can like with it though), and i think the Hartline pick is ridiculous. but guess what, 100 times out of 100 times i will take the FOs draft over mines obviously, but that is not the point of any of this. even the Tuna has failed drafts and plenty of failed picks. its wrong for someone to say this person is going to be one of them?

But it's sky is falling, this is the worst draft ever nonsense that makes me laugh.
I was really just trying to make a point about how funny some the posts have been this weekend.

sky is falling was just a figure of speach. Maybe the wrong one.
I'm just saying that the negativity is really getting tiresome.
It just seems everytime we make a pick today every post is either, "WTF" or "OMG" or "what a horrible pick"
I think you know what I am trying to get at here.

how great of a world would it be if everyone agreed? peace every..

but guess what, thats not the real world. the draft wouldnt be fun if everyone liked the same players.

as its been said, even by you, this is a message board. people post opinions. just cuz they different then yours doesnt give you the right to alienate them.

im glad you love every pick of our draft, and im glad the FO is running the draft and they obviously like it as well. hope yall are right.

its all about value. i love the value we got from davis and smith. dont like the value elsewhere, and just flat out think the Hartline pick is terrible. last years 4 round pick looks to be the same way, and we had the greatest turn around ever. just because i dont think our 4th round pick makes the team, doesnt mean im negative, just means i have an opinion on someone, something you obviously dont share. big deal.

It's not about any of that.
And this thread wasn't directing at you. Or anyone specific. Having different opinions is good.
    I never said I liked every pick. I don't.
But some guys just need to be a bit more rational. That's all I'm saying.

agreed. being rational is always needed. i just think you can judge how rational one is truly being over a message board. also, i didnt think you were directing it towards me per say, just using myself as an example of everything...

i think one reason why some people are down on this draft is not truly knowing exactly what the front office is thinking or wanting. most on this board believed we have a whole at OLB, yet we didnt pick a single pass rusher. its disappointing and frustrating to some. thats all.

regardless we are going undefeated next year, and thats not up for debate brother. so dont you even try!

Well, I think we might only be 15-1.:tongue2:

I think you are bang on about that. And I think that might be the biggest problem today.
But really don't have a problem with any pick. The Hartline pick is maybe the only one.

Im in the minority I guess. But I like our draft. We filled positions of need in CB and WR. Positions which everyone here was crying to see filled during FA. Im a little leery about the Hartline pick... Im still a bit bitter about Pat White, but i just keep thinking about the potential he brings out of the wildcat and it makes me feel a bit better. We just had to take him then before someone else did. It is, what it is.

We didnt get some of the guys I wanted, but we got guys at positions we needed to fill, and im fine with that. I trust any GM in the NFL (especially Ireland/Parcells) over my own opinions on players. Afterall, thats why I dont work for the FO of an NFL team
