    I give it a B.

I wanted us to pick Robinson when we picked the 2nd WR.

Pat White was a surprise pick for me.

However, the FO went with their philosophy of doubling up on team needs (last year did DE, OL, etc) and this year we did it with WR, CB. Going away from that spells disaster.

We got two of the better CBs from what I understand and BIG WRers.

Pat White hopefully brings what the coaches want to the table.

The depth at Tackle is a necessity as is S and LB. TE is as well seeing as Martin is prolly gone for this guy or the guy they picked up as a UDFA.

I like the fact that we doubled up on CB's early, although Davis's makeup concerns me. The selection of White at #44 and the WR's were really disappointing and I'm left to feel as though we still have glaring holes that need to be addressed.

    So C

It's not the the inability to address needs that really bothers me, it's the overdrafting of players and leaving quality prospects on the board.

C+ for me. i feel like we got good value from CB Vontae Davis, CB Sean Smith, S Chris Clemons and OT Andrew Gardener.

Reached a lil on QB/WR Pat White and WR Patrick Turner

and just flat out dont like the WR Brian Hartline pick.

Clemons and Gardener are unlikely to make an impact next year(hopefully at least), while White and Turner likely will IMO. so value vs. reached there...id give this draft a solid B if i didnt think we had a hole and we failed to even try to fill it.

But still a C+ for me

This draft pretty much hinges on Pat White and Patrick Turner, if they pan out A+, if they don't Smith and Davis and Clemmons have to pan out, Nabone (how long before we shorten that to Nabo?) and Gardner are bit players.

Hartline and Folsom are complete wildcards.

I like the picks, but I think it was weird with some of the names that we're left on the board in the later rounds which we passed on such as Guard, D. Robinson, etc. and I wish we got some pass rushing help. They must have some serious confidence in Wake being a great player. I really hope he works out. I LOVE the Sean Smith pick and I really like the P. Turner pick. Earlier on, I had him in my mock for the 4th or 5th round, but I didn't think he'd fall that far.

C+ for me, though I think 3 years down the road this group could be great. But for now, we reached for White who as far as I can tell is a strict luxury pick who will see maybe 7 snaps a game? The WRs were early and while at least Turner fills a need for a big WR, the Hartline pick just confuses me. What does he bring that we dont already have? Especially when we could have addressed quality depth issues at other needed spots.
Folsom I cant comment to heavily on, but from a cursory review this kid would easily have been an UDFA, nothing impressive at all. And trading off our 7th for a 7th next year? You cant possibly tell me Bellicheck wouldnt have at least gotten a 6th for it.

Vontae Davis was surprise pick because of character issues. Like Con said, they seem to be inconsistent on the character guys. If you're talented enough, maybe they'll take a flyer? He's got talent and can be coached up. Hopefully he flies straight.

Pat White shocked the hell out of me. I really don't like the pick. For one, I wanted Miami to address OLB and Sintim and Barwin were on the board. Secondly, I don't think Pat White is going to be that successful in the Wildcat. He's not going to be running through teams in the NFL. At 200 pounds, is durability going to be a problem if he's going to run up the gut against 300lbs NT and 250lbs LB? This pick is boom or bust IMO. He's not a true WR and I doubt he'll ever be. He's not a true QB (IMO) either. I don't like these Randell El/Kordel Stewert/Matt Jones types. I would love to be wrong. I would love if Pat White could be the next Mike Vick but I don't see it.

Sean Smith was an awesome pick. I really like him and was excited to us get value at 61. Even if CB isn't his true position (I think it is) he could always go to S at some point (We need a cover safety anyway). That versatility and his talent is welcome.

Patrick Turner was another huge disappointment for me. He was pretty disappointing at USC and I'm wondering if we just picked up Mike Williams part 2. It also annoyed me because of the talent still on the board... There were plenty of guys we could of grabbed that would of been better value. Patrick Turner in the later rounds would of been fine. It also sucks that Ramses Barden was drafted two spots ahead of us. I would of liked that pick so much more. As a matter of fact, I really loved NYG first 3 picks. I guess that's neither here nor there, just saying...

Brain Hartline was an awful pick IMO. Before the Cult of Pacells shows up and points out that BP is a successful draft guru and I'm just a message board poster and therefore my opinion is meaningless, I just want to point out that I'm going to pre-judge this pick any way I want... This pick is a HUGE WASTE. I hate everything about it. Watching him run routes reminds me of backyard football. Watching his highlights I saw absolutely nothing special about him, nothing. I don't really have anything positive to say about the pick. I don't even think he'll be on the team this time next year.

Nalbone is interesting because I know nothing about him but have heard nothing negative really. We'll see. I liked the rest of the draft fine and felt it was in line with expectations.

One of the things I found interesting about Patrick Turner is that he had a fast 10 yard split for such an immense receiver - 1.57. This is especially important for big, possession receivers who need to get off the line quickly for underneath routes.

    I gave it a B

Love the corner additions even though we didn't get my boy Alphonso Smith
Why the hate for Pat White? I was surprised that we got him only because I didn't think the staff would pull a move like that. I think he will be productive for us in one way or another this season.
I Like the Patrick Turner pick, gives us some competition for our 3 taller receivers.
Like most of you I also hated the Hartline pick. They must know something we don't
We needed depth at safety and we did that by adding Chris Clemons (Has a tackle in every game hes played during his college career.)

    B. IMO it was a good draft overall,, you have to add the factor that we don't know exactly WHY we drafted these guys, sometimes they may look as a reach, though only time will tell.

First of all it was positive to me because we got 2 potentially starting CB's in Davis and Smith. Grouped with W. Allen, J. Allen, Green and Thomas we should be fine at the position that one month ago was our nightmare.

About Pat White I'll say only one thing. To draft him at that early spot, the FO must really like him and must have a plan in place, so I expect to see a lot of Wildcat this season with him. If they had drafted Pat let's say in the 4th I wouldn't hold my breath, but at mid 2nd,, there's a reason and I'm anxious to see what's in place for him.

Receivers Turner and Hartline. I'm not excited about it because I don't like mid round receivers. Like Derek Hagan. They seem to never pan out. I like early prospects or late gems. So I don't like both picks, I hope I'm wrong.
uh, one thing I like about adding them though, sends a message to the current WR crop: step up.

About Nalbone, (and the UFA signed TE) I think he will simply compete with our current TE's and given a roster spot if showing promise.

I liked the S Chris Clemons and OT Andrew Gardener picks,, adding depth where we need depth.

LB/S J.D. Folsum I don't really have any opinion about it,, I do't know nothing about this guy, 7th round anyway.

I like the approach the FO has on draft. Last year they were heavy on DL and OL,, now they loaded CB,, added some receivers,, I believe next year we'll see some LB's being added.. a very organized job.

It's hard for me to rate this draft since I haven't seen many of the games these guys played in. Based solely on what I've read and seen online, I'd give it a C, maybe C+, but as I said, I don't have much to go on.

    I gave this draft a C

CB Vontae Davis / CB Sean Smith: I really like these picks I don't think i've talked to anyone who doesn't

QB/WR Pat White: Don't like this pick, especially with the number 44 pick. I'm really surprised that we drafted such a luxury position, when we have 2 positions that we didn't address at all (NT, OLB) I would have liked to see Barwin or Sintim at this pick.

WR Patrick Turner: I don't mind this pick. Gives competition to our other tall receivers and gives us another big target in the red zone which we desperately needed.

WR Brian Hartline: I never watched this guy before they announced the pick so I went and looked up some videos on Youtube. I really don't like what I see added with the majority of responses i've heard about him I think it was a waste.

TE John Nalbone: I personally believe we are already stacked at this position. I really like Fasano and Martin. Not sure why we picked him up but I like him overall and his attitude.

S Chris Clemons: Good pick, Good Depth

    OT Andrew Gardener

    LB/S J.D. Folsum: I'm shocked he's not a UDFA. He's way undersized, doubtful he'll make it to pre-season.

Probably because he said he is a QB. The QB/WR tag was added because Mel Kiper said he would have to be a WR and not a QB. ESPN trying to control the draft and positions again. He has never said he was going to be or even try out for wide receiver. He has always said he was a QB.

I loved the Vontae Davis and Sean Smith picks.

A others have said Pat White will be a boom or bust type of player. I would have prefered Stintim, why take a luxury pick when we had bigger needs?
I guess the trifecta believe Cameron Wake is that good.

I like Turner he's a big physical WR with solid hands who should be a nice compliment to our smaller speedsters on Bess and Ginn.

Hartline? why take a gunner in the 4th?

Nalbo may very well be a nice sleeper TE.

Clemons and Gardner were smart picks we need the depth at S and OL.

Folsom- I cant say I know alot about him.

    I'd give this draft a B.

I gave the draft a B so far, but of course we won't really know until the pads come on this year, and a few years from now we'll relook it over and determine who has made it and contributed and who hasn't. I think this was a very "safe" draft.

I wasn't familiar with anyone outside of WR Turner on day two of the draft. I think the natural thing to do when they draft someone you have never heard of is to fall into thinking the guy has no chance, especially when we are frustrated that a familiar player was passed on. Remember Dolfans, the staff is skilled and they know what they are looking for in terms of team make-up and the types of skills we need.

I predict Pat White will be a Rookie of the year candidate this year. The Wildcat is going to become a significant aspect of our offense this year. I'd bet we see it three series a game or more. Pat White will be a Dolfan favorite in Miami if things go the way I expect them to. If you doubt that he'll have that kind of success, watch his highlight video. It's all Wildcat stuff.

Pat Turner could turn into a steal at WR.

I gotta admit, this draft confused the heck outta me.

    1. Pat White? Really?
    2. Two receivers? Neither of which were productive in college?
    3. Another TE?

I don't know. I gave it a C. I love the two CBs. The rest of the picks were head-scratchers.

i rated this draft a B after Day 1, i only know of Patrick Turner form Day 2. He's a big WR with pretty good hands but didnt live up to the expectations at SC. So i cant really rate this class, but if i had to it'll be a C.

    Grading the draft.....?

I am not to sure what to say about this draft and how to grade it, but where any of you guys impressed?

I am pretty upset the Jets got Sanchez, I have this feeling he's going to be real good and the Jets have made some solid picks and weren't too shabby last year either...

The jets drafted 3 freakin guys! None of which are necessarily "solid" picks.

All QBs are risky picks, let alone junior QBs with less than 15 starts.

Shonne Greene is a 1-yr wonder, who almost couldn't make it into school. Did he have a great year? Yes. But who knows if he'll be fast enough to succeed. He has had injury concerns. Didn't catch the ball alot, let alone particularly well.

And the G they got could have went undrafted just as easily as any of the guys we took from rd 6 on.

Its nice to be watching the Dolphins make picks throughout the draft and not just sitting back and watching other teams make picks and cringing every once in a while when the Dolphins did get a chance to make a pick.
I thought we had a pretty good draft and we turned the secondary from a point of weakness to a potential point of strength.
We have also seen a very sad QB situation from a couple of years ago turn into a position with a lot of talent. Did we ever think we would see that again?

I think we got some pretty decent players. I was disappointed because aside from CB, they didn't go the direction *I* wanted to see (DL / LB), but they probably got some good players with the picks.

I'll say B right now, just because I like what we did with Smith and Davis. White... well, I'll just say that the offensive opportunities are endless with him, so I guess thats a good thing. Turner, is a big bodied receiver that could turn into something nice for us, same with Hartline, theres quite a few positives of him that he could grow into something nice for us as well. Clemons, upon reading about him seems like in time he could be good too.

Its impossible to grade this draft right now, but we did a good job as far as we can tell right now at filling two of our major needs at CB and WR. Only time will tell what grade this draft really deserves.

Just wanted to post my grade here, I thought it was a really bad draft tbh, with as much trading down as there was, we only traded down once and at the wrong time.

It should have gone hakeem nicks at 29 after we traded down for a third, the packers were willing at that time, i believe, everybody knew the giants were taking nicks, we needed him bad.

We should have used the rest of our picks 4th round and below to get an extra second and moved our 2nds and thirds up to the top of the round, was easily available with all the trading going on.

Vontae would have fallen to early second, then we should have picked up maul after, then brace before the patriots, white and smith would have been avaialable early third, that is all we would have needed for this draft. That would have been a great draft and very doable. It seemed like the trio was afd or something, nobody really understands what they were doing this draft, imo their drafting ability just went very down, this draft was there for the taking, everybody wanted to move down while the best value was available in the 2nd and 3rd.

I dont like to be this negative about the draft, but imo all our picks were a round too early and didnt fill our needs, I think the biggest loss was rey and not getting brace, brace would have been our nose for 10 years, and in the 2nd round too. Big loss there considering we dont have a true nose right now and next years good noses will be first round picks.
