we've had this one going in Club for awhile.. I'll say it here too...

it's Joe Robbie's stadium, always has been, always will be. He dreamed it, he built it, it's his.

I agree, though I'd hate to end up with a name like Pink Taco Stadium.

    LandSHARK for the Dolphins?

Sorry, I believe the only threat that Dolphins have in the open ocean (Besides mankind) is a SHARK! How can we name our stadium after the only predator we face in the wild. Nope Don't like it AT ALL!!!

Not like Heinz field, named after a company that has for a long time been a part of that community.

I agree with the other post, go back to Joe Robbie or leave it as it is.

Man, the Scotsdale one had a great website, don't know where it went

    [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_Taco[/ame]

In August 2006, Morton offered $30 million for the naming rights to the Arizona Cardinals' new stadium in Glendale, Arizona.[10] The offer was subsequently rejected by the Cardinals, who dismissed the announcement as a joke and a publicity stunt. On September 28, 2006, Pink Taco launched a similar bid to rename the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans to the Pink Taco Dome. As the State of Louisiana owns the Superdome, any name change must be approved by the Louisiana State Legislature.[11]

I believe most predators, including Sharks, steer clear of Dolphins as they can easily swarm and outnumber them. They have been known to kill Sharks on many occasions. FYI.

I agree Dolphins can kill sharks, but I do believe that Sharks can and have killed them as well. However being that the Dolphin IS the most intelligent mammal on the planet...I am sure they get the better of the sharks!

Im in disbelief that you guys actually think the term "landshark" refers to an actual shark. It's a pretty common phrase that means generally A Male who hangs around beach areas who is out to hit on and pick up ladies.

The Pink Taco Dome? Man I'm glad that didn't go through.

"It's cold night in New Orleans as the Florida Atlantic University Fighting Owls take on the Memphis Tigers in the R & L Carriers New Orleans Bowl in the world renowned Pink Taco Dome!"

Yep Landshark Lager falls under the blanket of his Margaritaville Tequila family. Gotta give it to the old boy he sure knows how to market his stuff and is a pretty savy businessman.

Am I the only one who has images of Saturday Night Live running through their head right about now? You know, the skit where the land shark knocks on the door and the person on the other side would ask who it was, and the land shark says something like "telegram." This would go on for a few exchanges, each time the land shark would change his answer until ultimately the door would be opened only to have the person that opened the door gobbled up by a massive shark head? That was a classic. Although, admittedly it may have been more funny because I was usually stoned when I watched it. LOL...

Anyway, I think it's fitting. Don't they still play that "dun dun" sound effect from Jaws during kickoffs?

Fins to the left, Fins to the right and you're the only bait in town!!! I have no quarrels with Ross and Buffett striking a deal. At least there are local ties to South Florida and Buffett. So who else thinks that Buffett will get the Super Bowl halftime show now?

    Back in Miami
I've never cared what the stadium has been called.

Pro Player, DHL, Dolphins stadium, whatever.
It's always been Joe Robbie Stadium to me.

Secondly, with all the respect to Joe Robbie and what he accomplished with private funds, I've never liked the stadium from day 1 anyway.

Thirdly, Landshark is a fun name.
It's a beer company, started by a singer that glorifies the tropics lifestyle.
It fits the S. Florida and ocean theme.
There could be much worse names to adorn the stadium so why the concern from some?
