The red ring of death!

Got mine back last night, only took 9 days.

 

i just dropped my baby off at the local ups store. hopefully they get me a new one out soon. How are the refurbs? does the same crap keep happening over and over?

 

Mine got it twice, and my brothers once, we just sent them back to the company and they didn't give us any problems... but if it goes down AGAIN.. there will be blood lol

 

not yet (knock on wood) after a year and 1/2

 

Anyone here have a RROD from one of the newer Jasper units?

How old are you guy's systems who recently had RROD?

 

mine was bought within a year from launch...so def. not a newer unit

 

i dont know anyone running a Jasper that has RRoD'd yet... Yet

It must be that time of year ... I just got the Red Ring of Death after starting up and throwing in GTA IV ... system locked, I turned off the power, and got it after attempting to restart.

Sigh ...

 

Blah, I hope mine doesn't die again. You guys have me all worried.

 

What's awesome is that this is my first one. And the 3 year warranty that covers the RROD problem expired. On 4/28/2009.

It is not my week ...

 

I bought mine used, and have no clue when the 3 year mark is up. It's been less than a year since it died last though, so i don't know if that counts as new start date.

 

where on the console do you find this info. i just got my unit back. im looking at the back of it, i dont see any lot #, team, power output...

the service date is 3-7-09.

It's on the back somewhere. If yours RRoD'd you likely don't have a Jasper model.

 

eh crap. so are the new refurbs still RRODing? I dont wanna be goin through this every 4 months.

 

I think my current console only did it once, and it's been a year or so since I got it back.
