No criticism here, just need an opinion because, I read many topic on pat white, but I really don't know about his future position. Opinions and GO DOLPHINS GO !
Honestly, backup QB/wildcat QB, so hopefully the wildcat stays effective. I really don't think we'll see much of him at receiver, besides maybe some "gadget" plays.
Qb, 2-3 yrs from now, between Henne or White, we should have a top quality starting Qb who will be here a long long time.
He's only had one day of minicamp so I think it's a bit premature to wager a decision one way or another but in the spirit of the thread I'll say QB.
The FO said he's going to be a QB first and foremost, and Pat White said he doesn't want to play any other position other than QB... so he'll be a QB
Who knows with bill most likely leaving after this season, I wonder what will happen to all his picks and moves.
Ireland the understudy will still be the GM. Lee will be the OC after Henning leaves. Our QB situation looks stronger than it has in quite some time. BP has put in a solid foundation. Trenches last draft, skill players this draft.
It will depend on what he does this season with the WildCat. He could be a QB, WR & ReturnSpecialist or simply a Tandem QB in the Co-System the 2009 season holds the answers & I'm sure WildCatPat knows it. Look for him to hit the field in full stride. He has a tremendous opportunity with the Dolphins & I'm sure the talented Mr. White will not disappoint.
This regime will never reveal strategy. IMO, he'll be used in more ways than just a QB. He's too good of an athlete only to be used 8-10 times a game in the Wildcat.
Wildcat / Spread QB when he is in the game, occasionally returning kicks and playing WR from all sets. Penny or Henne will lead the base offense. How much we run Wildcat will be based on how fast the league defense's catch up, but right now the scheme is way ahead of the defense at the NCAA and High School levels. Pat White will rush for over 100 and pass for over 100 in the same game this year....maybe more than once. Just depends on a bunch of variables.
I bet we average running a No Huddle version of the Wildcat 3-4 series per game this year. That's about 40% of our Offense. We know exactly what Pat White can do in the Wildcat, and what his limitations might be. The fact that we drafted him as highly as we did and the comments that came out from Parcells a year ago make it clear to me this has been a long term plan to make the Wildcat bigger and better than ever. There's still so much more that we can do...
i agree with that Marty if your talking WCQB and learning the pro set style so he can backup the henne. I also believe you will see him lined up in some other positions in the future, but i agree, he must first learn the basics before we get to fancy. I wonder if david lees wildcat playbook matches up with the kind of plays he was running at West virginia, i dont think lee had the double threat of a pat white while at arkansas, should be interesting, and a slow process to implement these plays, unless there gonna take a page right out of the west virginia offense.
hey coach, do you think you could asnwer that question i asked earlier in this thread...iam a little worried about the developement of plays that Pat was used to running, relative to the type of wildcat plays we were running..the ones we were running really had no options in them to pass considering who we had running them. It seems to me like its 2 different styles of the wildcat and iam hoping we have the knowledge to use Pat correctly
He ran plenty of plays that were not option. He's going to be awesome in the Wildcat and is already familiar with alot of what he saw us running according to the post draft articles he was featured in.
so then you dont see many fundamental differences between what David Lee is all about compared to what West virginia was doing.. Wow, i just thought of how much it is gonna take to really committ to this offense, developing one wildcat play with everyone involved should require some pretty good amount of reps...another wow, because if this sh@# really works, boy are we gonna be ahead of the curve. , no BS, this Seriously could be as revolutionary as we all want it to be. Iam not buyin the whole NFL players will snuff it all out.....when you have a new scheme, with players that are built for it, u have a real chance of execution at a very high level. We have the coaches, the players and the scheme...the rest of the Nfl has nada.
