IF Taylor signs with New England, it will take him of that list completely.

I will stand up and applaud him when he is introduced as a Pat, for the time he spent as a Phin. Just because he now plays for another team doesn't erase tha fact that he was one of my all time favorite Phins. However..... Soon as the ball is snapped, he becomes the enemy, and all hatred for the opponent will be directed toward him as well. And when Jake Long burries him in the infield dirt, I will be grinning ear to ear.....

JT has indicated he wants to and would prefer to return to Miami . Miami knows this and if they CHOSE to not offer him a contract , it isn't JT's fault for wanting to play and to select a team that may be odds on favourite to win a SB.

Sure seeing him in a NE uniform wont endear him to fans , but IF Miami wanted him at all I believe he would have taken the home team discount , don't crucify him if Miami made the decision to not want him.

Ummm maybe because Zach signed with the Cowboys?

I have no problem getting over him HAVING to work even though thats not at all true. Wanting to work would be more like it. BUT if he is going to the Patsies, it is not one bit childish to think of him as the enemy. It's a huge part of football for the fans to stick behind their team 100 percent thru thick and thin right? He needs to be able to get over that.

There are certain LT's that give JT fits. Here is to hoping JL can be one of them so Dolphins fans, once again, get the last laugh.

First I've ever heard of it. I guess a lot of us heard Zach talk about NOT joining the Pats in words from Zach's own mouth, so that made an impact on us.

I would love to read/hear where Zach said otherwise. I am not doubting it's true, but want to compare the source. Obviously if Zach was seriously intent on going to the Jets, I'd also like to know why he didn't, eventually. Maybe the loyalty thing was the decidingf factior, maybe it was pure business.

Either way, I still feel like Zach would have been straight with the press and public about it while Jason (imo) is more likely to always try to explain things away so people don;t hate him.

I'm sure Katarina Taylor can tell you all about Jason's ability to tapdance with truth in order to avoid someone getting angry at him. I'm alluding, of courtse, to rumours Jason was cheating on his wife and got caught. Rumours, mind you, but it wouldn;t surprise me.

That said, JT has been a wonderful off the field charity worker and IS a good person. I am not saying he isn't. What I AM saying is that he is a me-first guy who does what Jason wants and tries to misrepresent situations to get away with it and still look like 'the good guy' despite his true feelings.

That doesn;t just rub me wrong, it rubs me raw. Especially if it involves wanting to leave the Dolphins for dead last season, and then possibly join our arch enemy team.

Might as well bang your brother's ex.

I don't think anything would make me hate JT or Zach. They were the icons of this team for many years. And really, at times, the only good and positive things about the team.
This hate on JT has gone beyond ridiculous to me.
I wish him luck where ever he goes. He was great here.
I personally wish he could come back. But, if the fo is jerking him around, then I don't blame him for what ever he does.
As I've said before no one knows what went on last year and we probably never will.

and he did try to patch things up...to which she replied,
"Well, things have changed around here, I've got a couple a young studs now, and if I take you back, you'll be taking up my quality time with them, but gimme a month to bang some options around, and I'll get back to ya."

Not sure if it was waiting around the extra month that did it, or the crack that "you do deserve a shot with someone, just not her", but at this point, I know I'd be out scouting for the best looking child bearers in town.

I'm struggling to understand why a player should have any loyalty to a team that traded him and doesn't want him back. Honestly if anyone cannot understand why he would go play with the patriots after the Phins traded him and told him no thanks to a contract this year then people have serious issues with reality. Hes a human being that was let go here and traded, then told he wasn't wanted back, he has every right to go anywhere he wants and judging him for that is really weak.

I'm just glad I'm not a bitter, jaded fan that forgets players are human beings, I'm glad I don't have some silly notion that ex players that our team trades or lets go owe me something as a fan, thats absurd. Good luck to JT, he is the enemy on Sundays when the Pats play us no question but I can't blame him at all for going to the Pats.

But you do sound like your bitter at people for not understanding that he is going to play for one of the ultimate enemies of the Miami Dolphins. I could care less if he is an alien, if someone plays on the Jets, Bills, and Patsies, I root against them no matter who they are. Now we're talking about a players who played a lot of years for the Miami Dolphins and now we're supposed to wish him well with the Patsies? Screw that.

Jason, I wish you well every single momment that your not wearing a Patsie uniform, but once you put it on you are the enemy, and when you play Miami, I'll be hoping someone knocks the snot out of you.....

that's because you have the facts wrong.. he demanded to be traded.. he wanted NO part of the new regime or the Miami Dolphins anymore.. we weren't good enough, he wanted to play with a "winner". This after he spent a full year undermining the coaching staff. I really don't care one way or another anymore.. he's just another over the hill defensive lineman of questionable value looking for a team to me. If he signs here, I love him until he's gone, if he signs anywhere else, he's the enemy.

Nobody has to wish him well but the venom being spewed about him is ridiculous. Especially given that people weren't as angry about Wes Welker admitting he dreamed of playing for the "enemy" while he was still a Dolphin.

    Easy...

Just like last season when he was on the verge of signing with the Pats it was all for more $$$ if possible.

Dallas was his destination the whole time but he wanted to see if he could get more money from them and if just visiting the Pats would help then he tried it.

I am sure this time around it was the samething and he even bit his tongue so it doesn't hurt him should he even continue beyond this season with another comment like "Man, I wasn't going to play for the <team>"

This is actually the first time I heard of it.

I am sure it wasn't made a big deal because the media knew it was problably just another bargaining tactic since he did the samething last season to another hated rival in the Pats.

I can't stand the guy. To me having a dispute with a new regime about offseason workouts and asking for a trade is nowhere in the neighborhood of as bad as dreaming of playing for the enemy while you're still on the sidelines. Just my opinion.

No, I have the speculation as you see it wrong, considering that we were considering signing him here I'd say the hard feelings were exaggerated by fans wanting to believe that. The decision to trade him was mutual, he didn't force anything. We got a good draft pick in return, it turned out well, why fans are still bitter about the deal is beyond me. Give me a hall of fame player for 10+ years then a 2nd rounder when he's done playing I'll take that deal 100 times out of 100, nothing to feel bad about. Undermining a coaching staff? I'm assuming you hate Joey Porter as well right?

after he pushed his point it was the only real alternative. That doesn't change the fact he wanted out and away to a "contender". I too am happy with how we raped the skins for a second round pick, how could anyone argue the value of that?

when Joey quits us, and then wants to come back, ask me this question again.. I promise to be consistant.

ohh, I don't hate jason taylor, I don't like what he showed me.. I'm not wanting to have his baby like some folks. Jason Taylor is for jason taylor. If he can convince the staff he's for the Dolphins, I'm all for it, but my money thinks that doesn't happen.

I don't know how you could say it wasn't mutual, even if JT was asking to stay we would have dealt him to the Skins for that deal, I find it hard to believe that JT wasn't on the trade block the entire time.

So its ok to undermine the coaching staff as long as you don't want to get traded? I guess if your salary and a poor season makes you untradeable you do have that option. Or I guess if you have a big season afterwards fans have short memories.

I think JT is for JT just like everyone else is, I'm for my family and myself before the Miami Dolphins, I'm sure you and everyone else is as well its kind of ridiculous to blast someone for that.

You don't seem to have issues making assumptions and putting words in JTs mouth. You're the one that brought up JT "undermining" Cam if you didn't want to discuss players doing that then you shouldn't bring it up or make excuses for other players, at least be consistent about it.

I guess the reactions are proportionate to how much many of us love/loved him at times as a Dolphins. There's always more hurt feelings in those caes.

If this were Charles Jordan, or some Dolphin no one had given a crap about it would be a more reasonable discussion!

I've heard these kind of statements before and nothing personnel, but I just think they are kind of cheesy.:D Uh, yeah. I think it' safe to say that most of us would put our families first, but c'mon, that's got absolutely nothing to do with this. I think if JT doesn't play for the Pats that he and his family would be just fine. Most players, if they have half a brain could retire very comfortably with just their signing bonuses alone. :D It's true. Do you think Stafford could retire after getting that 40 million dollar signing bonus or whatever it was, even if he never got another penny from the NFL?

What, if JT doesn't play for the Pats, he and his family will be on line at the soup kitchen the next day? Will his kids now have to go to community college, if anything. (I'm not saying there's anything wrong with community college. There's not, but you get the point ;)) Will his kids have to do what Bob Sagat's one line in the movie "Half Baked" was?. ;):D No! Actually, maybe his wife and kids would have to spend 6 instead of 7 days at the country club or maybe they would only take 5 trips a year to the Caribbean instead of 6. Give me a break.

Like I said earlier in the thread, if he really wants to continue playing and NE is the ONLY team offering him anything, then fine, I understand. Take it and enjoy having Jake Long stuff your head into the turf. We don't really know what's going on behind the scenes anyhow.

I said earlier in the thread and in many others that I will always hold JT in high regard for what he did while he was here, but my earlier comment about Zach having more character is dead on. It's not even close. It doesn't even mainly come from this BS. During the off season last year, I constantly defended JT, but the more I heard him talk, he had this kind of aloof, arrogant, "I don't give a s---", "I'm above this" type of attitude. I really didn't like that. I'm absolutely sure that I've never heard nor seen Zach act like that...ever, but it's not about who's better between Zach and JT. It's just to prove the point.

"Word to the wise"(from Pauly Walnuts:D): Maybe JT should have waited until he was retired to go on "Dancing With The Stars" like most other NFL players. ;) (Sapp, Rice) :D

Sceeto, you're entitled to your opinion, but I can't agree with that kind of reasoning. No, his family will not stand in the county line, or, soup line or cheese line. But everyone wants what's best for their family. You can't say at a certain point that their family doesn't take precedence. He can be setting up his kids, and their kids, and so forth. You say this about his Caribbean vacation. But imagine that's your wife. Your kids. You wouldn't think like that. It's not about Vacations. it's about your family's legacy. For my family if I have a 1 dollar I want 2. if I have 100,000 I want 200,000. If I have 1 million I want 50 million.

I think it is selfish for any fan here to even say that type of stuff when it comes to another person's family. If you're staring down at your little girl's or boy's face would you think that same thing? Do you think the Dolphins think about a family before they cut someone? Hell no they cut your butt right then and there.

And you guys all forget, Miami is his place if we would have him. Regardless of what has transpired before, he wants to be here. If we won't have him, is he to blame for going to anywhere else. He's tried to come here. If we won't have him we won't have him, he can go anywhere else.

Fact of the matter is, there are those who will hate what he does no matter what, and those who don't care what he does. if I'm him, you guys know what I would do. The Dolphins are as quick to abandon you with no hesitation. You are a number and a stat sheet. It's mentioned ad nauseam how fast this FO is ready to cut whoever they want without emotion. Why are players held to such a harder standard? If the FO's across the NFL displayed such loyalty I might change my mind, but they don't. So I think the way I do. the FO does not love you, so don't love them back. Love your team, but love yourself and family first.

    That's just me.

I could quit my current job and take a job for half pay and my family would still be "fine". [meaning they wouldn't starve or live in a box] That doesn't mean I'm going to or should do it. People love to act like football players are set for life because they've made some money in the past. These guys have lives that will extend 40 years or so past their playing careers. They can't all be broadcasters, they need to get while the getting is good.

It seemed to me like he was asking if those were the words from your mouth as evidenced by the question mark. I personally don't think that's anywhere in the neighborhood of insulting but that's just my humble opinion. You've jumped all over me for making the same connection with the JT underminding the coaching staff thing. Maybe it's not so irrelevant if two different people made the same connection on two separate occassions. Surely we're not all in here "deflecting". We just think that if people on one side of the argument can use their perceptions of events as ammo in the discussion we can use another player who blatantly commited the same "crime" as ammo for ours.

I've been around long enough to know that you're a good guy and a great poster. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers, I know we all get a little worked up about this stuff. I just decided to put my two cents in on this and hopefully in the future we can get back to having some good discussions about it. Of course if it's just too heated that's understandable, I'm certainly not completely innocent here myself. I guess it's also good to know when to move on.
