a vote for tedd ginn is a vote for **** and giggles. To try to be a part of a winning team other than the Dolphins.

Ginn is a good player, yet he isn't excellent yet.

Ginn has overcome a learning disability through very hard work and the help of his father. His road to the NFL was much tougher than most. His story didn't start in 2007. It started in high school, where he met the crossroads in his life at a very early age. All the huff and puff about drafting Ginns "family" isnt all for not. Ginn embodies the american dream, and fighting to give it your all, no matter what life has dealt you.

Another thing that can be said of Ginn can be seen in the drafting of Hartline. If the coaching staff didn't fully back Ginn and how he approaches the game, then why would they draft a guy that Ginn Sr. views as a son and comes from the same football path as Ginn?

Take a look at the current list. Everyone still in the game will be a major contributor this season. It's nice to have that many players to be excited about. We are all winners with a roster like this one.

Ginn's a good player with the chance to be great. Great great person too I don't think anyone can deny that. I also don't think there's any football player who WOULDN'T want Ted Ginn as their teammate.

Pennington should've been in the probowl last year period. When healthy he's borderline great. As much as people say he holds the offense back I say he makes the offense better. Think about how much Ginn improved in 08. You don't think Chad had anything to do with that?

The way our team is being coached and managed, the success of each player is of their own doing. Pennington did not make Ginn better. The team gets better as a whole when everyone takes the responsibility to do their job better. A quarterback cannot give his receiver separation, cannot help him locate the ball, cannot help him jockey for position, cannot help him catch the ball, and cannot help him get his feet down. Bad QB play can handicap the production of a player, but reliable QB does not make a player better. And I'm not trying to take away from what Pennington brings to the team. I think Chad brings us one of the most reliable decision makers at that position. He does not hold back the offense by any means. He has weaknesses, but his strengths are on par with hall of fame status which makes his weaknesses easy to tolerate. If Chad had a strong arm, he would be every bit as good as Peyton Manning, maybe better (if thats even possible).

For me, this competition isn't necessarily about who is the best player, just the one we support the most. I support Ginn 10,000%, but I support everyone on our team 100%, including Ernest Wilford.

Everyone has different factors that help them pick their favorite player. Ginn is a guy that embodies the things I value, and I fill fight for him to the end, even if he leaves Miami at some point in his career.

I think you're underestimating the difficulty of a player with a learning disability to get to the level that Ginn is currently at. Yes, he is skilled, and skill is earned by hard work and dedication. No one in the NFL has any of their skills at birth. Qualities like size and speed are god given traits that are a true blessing. But those qualities alone do not make a football player successful. Otherwise every track star would be a #1 WR in the NFL.

I must respectfully disagree with part of your argument. No a QB will not help you get seperation, make you more physical, or make your hands better, but a QB like Pennington will do just about everything (except throw 60 yard frozen ropes I guess) you could want as a wide receiver. I doubt that there is any question that Pennington has helped accelerate the mental side of the game for not just Ginn, but for most of the offense in general. When a 10 year guy (especially one who puts in Zach Thomas like time in) tells you "when you see this, react like this, the ball will be here when you do that" and you see this executed you flat out gain confidence. Without that confidence you can never play to your full potential. Chad brings this better than almost any QB in the league.

Knowing that when you take care of your responsibilities and get open that a guy like Chad WILL find you and more than likely hit you with the ball DOES make you a better player. When you succeed you get swagger. When you succeed players defend you differently. Without Chad I highly doubt Ginn puts up the numbers he did last year. Without Chad, I bet a lot more people would think he's a bust.

Wide Receivers are pretty interchangeable (other than the super stars of course). Probably the most interchangeable position other than special teams positions. I believe QB's make receivers more than you think. A QB will never change the physical part of a receiver, but god knows it can change the mental part.

I've played a lot of years at receiver (HS, JC, and Semi pro, I know it's obviously not pro but I still have experience) so I'm taking some of what I've seen and what I've watched and learned over the years.

I know other speedsters such as Santana Moss, Jericho Cotchery, and Laverneous Coles have had no problem being very productive WRs with Chad Pennington at the helm. Chad Pennington is not doing anything to limit Ginn's potential. He is helping to unleash it!

who said Ginn can't be productive?

but having pennington still limits an entire aspect of the offense, and the aspect that happens to be Ginn's forte...

with pennington the deep ball just isn't as much a part of the offense as it should be... also Pennington requires larger windows of separation to pass the ball, the windows he can fit it in need to be much larger than what a QB with a stronger arm possesses...

Pennington brings us great leadership, accuracy, QB play in general... hes a great player... BUT with his arm strenght is a limitation on the potential for any offense hes leading... just the way it is... the ceiling with Henne is higher than the ceiling with Penny, does that mean Henne will definitely be a better QB and do more for this offense? of course not but the potential for an offense would be greater with Henne just based on the more things you can do

So you're saying that when the QB does his job, then the WR has a better chance to do his. Being on the same page is their job. The tips and communication goes both ways. WRs often go to the QB and give them tips as to what the corner is doing to them. Confidence goes both ways too. Chad constantly looked off Ginn early in the season, even when he was wide open. But as the season progressed, Chad got more confident in Ginn and threw him the ball more often. It's unfair to give all the credit to one player when they are reliant on each other. Each player is responsible for what he can control. If they each do their job and are on the same page, they should both get equal credit.

agreed. in fact Ginn caught a decent number of long passes from Chad this year. They might not have been in stride, but they were catches. Chad offers alot.

I think you are really underestimating Tedd Ginn and giving him a lot of excuses.

He has earned his way through hard work and dedication. He is also amazingly talented.

Unlike a Devon Bess, who is not amazing talented.

true. and i wish Chad supporters (which i am one of) could accept Chad's weakness. Just because he can't hit a 60 yard bomb in full stride, doesnt mean he isnt an amazing quarterback deserving of awe and glory.

A big part of what takes a wide receiver a while to develop is getting chances and seeing things over and over. When you see this, do this, you get little knacks and tricks that get you open, knowledge of what certain defenders like to do...when to really turn on the boosters no matter what route it is, you know stuff that comes quality game time reps. If you took Ted Ginn with the QBs we had before Pennington and played the whole 2008 season with those QBs, that version of Ted Ginn would worse than the one we have now. Chad creates longer drives than most quarterbacks, which creates more opportunities for completions, and more in game reps seeing defenses at full speed. There is only so much time and plays a player gets during live games. Practice is great and I've already went over than and could more, but it just doesn't compare to what happens when the game counts. Pennington makes the development of Ted Ginn faster. That IMO makes Chad Pennington make Ted Ginn better.

The only thing Henne has over Penny at this point is arm strength. The deep ball part I agree with you, but the whole needing a bigger window to throw is very sketchy. The guy completed nearly 70% of his passes and had one of the highest yards per attempt in the league. If anything Chad makes it easier on the rest of his receivers because he has to be top 5 in decision making...maybe higher.

Okay... Mile high... it looks like Martin was AT 3, then you took him to 2, so Dupree took him to ONE. So, assuming Martin should be 1 and Sparano 9, I'll continue the voting. Depree can edit his later to fit in.

David Martin [2] + I am adding back to this future legned's numbers. None of you are invited to his Canton ceremony.

Actually, Dupree subtracted from Ginn, he just forgot to delete the "-" symbol from beside Martin's name.
Martin should really be at 2 after my vote & Dupree's. Your vote takes Martin to 3.
FYI, you also need to delete the + and - symbols by Ginn & Brown's names.

Nevermind, I'll just fix it myself in the next post.
