I know what you're saying man, it's a crazy movie. Although, I've known plenty of people that saw 'Napolean Dynamite' when it came out, and they were in high school, and thought it sucked, and saw it a few years later and thought it was hilarious. Sometimes when you're old enough to look back and remember, it makes it that much better. No worres, I look at your reviews a lot, and you've got good taste IMO, so thanks for the input man.

The only part I thought was funny was when he tried to hit that ramp and smashed his nads.

    Otherwise, it was awful.

Lol, dude, watching the dorks get jacked in the hallways, the whole thing with the uncle who wished he could do it over again, even the 80's songs during the dance that stuck out as being in another time zone for the era. Considering it's a modern movie, those elements worked great for it. I thought it would suck being a PG film, and my friend implored that I watch it, and I was satisifed. When you guys are in your 30's, and you know guys that are whining about going back to their high school days, you'll get it. Give it a few years.

I just watched Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children in 1080p Blu-ray which comes out in the US on June 2, 2008. You can find it early if you look hard enough.

The quality is awesome & it comes with 30mins of extra footage. I went out and pre-ordered on Amazon after I watched it.

Watched 'Missing in Action 2' with Chuck Norris this morning. Hadn't seen it for about 20 years, forgot how over dramatic, yet action packed it was

Watched Quantum of Solace and it was more dreadful than I had heard. I loved Casino Royale but this one was horrible.

Saw wolverine last night- I liked it in a strictly action sense, but the plot was predictable (yeah i know the story was written a while ago) but i never read the comics so i didn't know his backstory really. It felt like they threw a lot of characters in there with no development (like they did in X3). I dunno, it was good but i wasn't overly impressed or anything

Oh and to comment on Napoleon, I hated it. absolutely hated it. And i feel bad because it mostly wasn't even the movies fault. It was that freshman-year college cult following that made me hate it. Every single day in the dining hall someone would ask me if i was gonna "eat my tots"... even when we didn't even get tater tots.
couple that with everyone saying "gosh" in response to everything... just really irked me

same exact thing with Borat. Terrible. I won't even waste much breath on that one.

A note on Napoleon Dynamite: I was thinking "What the hell is this?" and was about to turn it off, and then "The Rose" by the Happy Hands Club came on. I completely lost it laughing and stuck with it for the rest of the movie.

    ***

    I watched four movies yesterday:

    Tristan and Isolde
-- My favorite of the day. A little something for everybody: romance, medieval political intrigue, some decent action sequences, fine acting. Fun fact: Ridley Scott was set to direct this 30 years ago, but helmed The Alien instead.

Foxy Brown -- Always had wanted to see this, and its 70s cheesiness did not disappoint. Jive-*** slang and bouncing boobies abound. Plus you get this winning set: Huggy Bear, the original Colonel Tigh and Captain Spaulding all in one movie.

    Max Payne
-- A few decent action sequences, but ultimately pretty mindnumbing. Still, it was George Bernard Shaw compared to ...

The Spirit -- So many people I liked involved, yet such a piece of crap.

Haven't seen the Spirit yet, it looks similar to 'Sin City'. Not the movie itself, but in the way it was filmed.

city of men -- great movie. sequel to city of god, but I might even say better. It really got me involved.

champion -- a movie about boxer duk-koo kim. A boxer who died in the ring against mancini. This fight is why they no longer go 15 rounds in boxing anymore, but the story is more about kim and his life as he grew up poor and became a boxer as a teenager. I would have liked them to mention more about the after math, kim dying, mancini never being the same, the referee killing himself, and kims mother killing herself, but all and all it was a good movie. I recommend for both boxing and non boxing fans alike.

I still cant believe I havent seen either one of these movies.

Saw Angels and Demons. I liked it a lot. Part of the ending is a bit cheesy and some could be turned off by that. But if you dont let it get to you the movie is a lot of fun. Much better pacing than Da Vinci Code.

I dont think you're in the minority on that. I thought it was a pretty good movie, but was overly long and dragged. Angels & Demons doesnt suffer from those same issues imo.

That's why I didn't like it as much. As a fan of Maher, I thought he put out logical reasoning and discussions (I'm not trying to offend anyone either) and gets little in return. It really seems most of the conversations ended with something like "You make a lot of sense Bill... But you're wrong" or some other faith based answer. I kind of got bored with the religious people. Maher does his best to things interesting, but it's all really redundant in the end through no fault of his own. It's worth watching, but I wouldn't say 9/10. I'd go with 7/10.

Have any of you guys seen the movie Stranger than Fiction with Will Ferrell?

It's about 3 years old, but I loved that movie for some reason... It had a Garden State feel to it and was a great movie. The movie actually blew me away the first time I saw it, because they marketed it horribly. They protrayed it as a typical funny/stupid Will Ferrell movie which probably got people to watch it that didn't appreciate it, while turning off a lot of people that would like it. (9/10)

Other GREAT movies I have seen recently include Into the Wild (8.5/10) and Taken (9/10).

All that being said, last movie I watched was Smokin' Aces. Average movie, wasn't that good IMO (5.5/10).
