Just wrote a quick article on some key battles heading into camp and the pre-season. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/178423-miami-dolphins-2009-key-positional-battles I think the most interesting will be Roth v Wake/Taylor for outside linebacker and White v Henne for backup QB. Let me know what your opinions are and if I should add any battles.
I agree with you that Roth will probably be the starter. However I do not believe that finding playing time for Taylor will be a problem. I think the coaching staff sees Taylor as a (still) talented pass rushing force. And a creative defensive coordinator is going to find a way to make the most of whoever we have. Myself I do not think that the other starting CB position is Jason Allen's to lose. I think it's Green's job to lose. As for DE; I don't think it's anyone's job to lose. I think it's anyone's to win. In other words it's up for grabs. I also think Ginn and Bess will start the season as #1 and #2.
Nice article. I think the most obvious is Matt Roth. Wade is raw and JT is going to be situational. Roth gets the job. I think Jason Allen has gotten the typical call into Coach's office by now: "You show us something this year or -- goodbye. We have no time to spend with people who can't learn the system." The WRs and QBs are anybody's guess, because none of us know what the Trifecta is going to be doing and what personnel it will require. I'm still expecting some serious surprises.
Both are valid points. I think one of the rookies will take the job. Thanks for the compliment. And I completely agree on the Jason Allen situation. He has to do something or hes gone.
