Tonight the NBA holds it's annual power ball drawing...err..."lottery for the selection of order of the players eligible for the NBA Draft"...

But make no mistake, it's the NBA Franchise equivalent of the Power Ball drawing, a Tim Duncan or Shaq or the 'next" great point guard is up for grabs.

That said, pick who will pick #1, #2, #3 etc, in the 19 years of the powerball, the worst team in the NBA has won the drawing only 4 times..:

    1. The Kings
    2. Washington Wizards
    3. LA Clippers
    4. OKC Thunder
    5. MN Timberwolves
    6. Memphis Grizzlies
    7. Golden State Warriors
    8. NY Knicks
    9. Toronto Raptors
    10. Milwakee Bucks
    11. NJ Nets
    12. Charlotte Bobcats
    13. Indiana Pacers
    14. Phoneix Suns

So who ends up with the top three picks? More then likely Blake Griffin Ricky Rubio go #1 and #2..

When the Knicks didn't win the #1 overall at the draft lottery the look on Mike D'Antoni's face was priceless..

I wouldn't mind seeing the Bobcats win the thing, if not them, then Phoenix..

I also want to see OKC steal the top pick... Durant, Westbrook, Green, Griffin, etc.

Hopefully Washington falls as far as possible, too.

This has to be one of the worst draft classes in a while. Looking at it overall, this whole class has a high bust potential. Thabeet is so limited offensively, Rubio has questions whether he will be able to hold up in the NBA and needs to be more consistent, Griffin I think has to polish his game a lot more because he's strictly relying on his athleticism from what I've seen and every one else is just meh. I can't remember if Brandon Jennings entered the draft or not but whoever gets him may end up with one of the best players in the class. The third pick, IMO, could be Hasheem Thabeet if a team like Washington gets it. I think that Golden State is praying right now that they somehow land a top two pick so they can snatch Ricky Rubio.

Sure, which is a solid player who gives you 17 / 7 per game at 22-years old, plays solid defense, does all of the little things, and can play multiple positions. He's the perfect compliment to play alongside an offensive juggernaut like Kevin Durant; I'd take him on my team any day.

& LMFAO!!!!! @ Sacramento. Good. I hate Kevin Martin.

Blake Griffin is officially a bust.

OKC... irrelevant whether they are picking 2 or 3, because Thabeet will be their guy assuming Memphis takes Rubio (they've been trying to move Conley for over a year now).

Bit late but this was my prediction from another forum

    1. LA Clippers - Team needs any help
    2. MN Timberwolves - McHale gets another chance to blow it again though I really "love" the first rounder he traded for, pun intended, who'll be there at the lottery.
    3. Sacramento Queens - From Conference Champ appearances to lottery. Lovin it.
    4. Washington Wizards - Good spot to take Griffin maybe.
    5. OKC Thunder - If Wiz or earlier don't, they will.
    6. Memphis Grizzlies - Team on the rise now needs a consistent PG.
    7. Golden State Warriors - Will probably go for another shooter.
    8. NY Knicks - Poor Knicks.
    9. Toronto Raptors - Replacement for J'ONeal? Yea.
    10. Milwaukee Bucks - Needs someone to stay healthy.
    11. NJ Nets - Needs a shooter.
    12. Charlotte Bobcats - Could this be the lowest pick in franchise history?
    13. Indiana Pacers - Defense, defense, defense.
    14. Phoenix Suns - Offense, offense, offense.

Not a bad lottery choice by David Stern, though... gotta keep those big names in big time markets.

Glad to see some of the lower percentage teams move up.

Hopefully Dunleavy doesnt blow it. He's actually put a decent team together. If they had a coach, and could stay healthy they'd at least be fun to watch.

It's not Dunleavy that's the problem, it's the owner, he sort of rents players rather then build teams.

Eric Kamen was healthy enough to come off the IR this past season, but never would admit he was because if he was activated, he knew he would have been traded and he wanted to stay in LA.

Sterling is trash. But he's opened his check book some lately. Dunleavy cant coach and the team seems to hate him. Dunleavy the GM needs to fire Dunleavy the coach, imo. Even if it doesnt work it'll make me happy lol.

Kaman is frustrating to watch. He has to be one of the dumbest players in the league. He has moments where he just seems so clueless.

Not quite his fault Elton Brand pulled a Boozer and signed elsewhere when the FO got the pieces he himself demanded. But hey, karma....

One has to wonder if this isnt prime trade bait for the clips. They have 3 legit bigs under contract and big contracts at that with Camby, Randolph and Kaman. If they take Blake something has to give. I think Camby's contract is up after this year but hes owed like 20M.

Camby played well though. Randolph hasn't quite after a good start. Gotta get rid of fat Zach first. Could trade out of #1 overall for a decent swingman with a shot, passing skills, and some athletic ability.

Camby always plays well. I would say this draft has to be about finding a long term plan for a team usually has none. You have a good mixture of vets and young players but many of your vets like Camby, Kaman and Davis are injury prone. They may be better served taking Rubio or trading out of the spot.

Im very interested to see what the Knicks do here. I like Stephen Curry a lot but hes a SG in a PG's body. But he also has great court sense which D'antoni will love. Im more intrigued by Ty Lawson who reminds me a lot of Terrell Brandon. And of course being a Syracuse fan I love Jonny Flynn. But for a team that has finished in the bottom 2 in shots blocked each of the last 3 years they need a big as much as they need a PG.....Going to be an interesting draft/offseason. I think some big names moved, David Lee and Nate Robinson among them.

Blake Griffin would provide that though they have promise in DeAndre Jordan. Dunleavy was just in Spain checking out Rubio. Their best option is a sweet shooting SF/SG who can defend but none worthy in here.

I've always felt the Knicks could use a little mobile size ala Amare. Lee's a good option there (why you would even trade such a commodity is perplexing) but he needs help. Yes, Knicks are a run and gun team, but even common sense dictates you still need a big, at least a mobile one. They did tremendously well with Randolph. Knicks have to get it together soon else I'll keep seeing Spike Lee more and more at Laker games.

I think the knicks will at least consider trading Lee (and Nate Robinson) if thats the only way they can avoid having to do a long term deal with them now. By doing that you keep more money available for 2010 signings. As it stand rigt now they would have about 38 million to spend on a projected 64M cap. Dump Curry and/or Jefferies and youre under 10M in committed payroll in a year when so many great players are available. You can rebuild your team however you want. That has to be appealing.

If we could get a piece like Amare, what a start that would be.

Dunleavy has stated that they will take Blake Griffin. Also, heard Andre Miller is interested in playing in Miami. That would be a great pickup IMO.
