and with pennington starting we'll never win a superbowl... whast the point of making a statement that can not be proven yet? thats a dumb thing to say...
i personally think he already has... but the coaching staff wants to let him sit one more year... why else would they be already anointing Henne the starter for 2010?
well i agree it appears that way but this regime does it right and lets the guy know its there for him to take ( no back talk its a competition) but Penny plays another good season and i believe Henne sits another yr.
Chad Pennington [66] Jake Long [130] Ronnie Brown [124] Joey Porter [3] ---- Tony Sparano [127] ++++EACH OF THESE PLAYERS DESERVE TO WIN IN THERE OWN RIGHT, BUT SPARANO BROUGHT EACH OF THESE INDIVIDUAL GUYS TOGETHER TO BE THE MIAMI DOLPHINS A HECK OF A TEAM
Limits our offense? Compared to who at QB? Tom Brad, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees? Maybe you can make an argument if you're comparing to those QBs. But don't you see how inherently wrong it is to say he limits our offense when he's done more for our offense than any QB since Dan Marino? Want proof? Total Offensive Yards / Average Yards per Play / Total Passing Yards / Total first downs 2000 - 4461 / 4.7 / 2567 / 251 2001 - 4821 / 5.1 / 3157 / 263 2002 - 5392 / 5.3 / 2890 / 318 2003 - 4609 / 4.8 / 2792 / 266 2004 - 4404 / 4.3 / 3065 / 267 2005 - 5198 / 5.1 / 3300 / 274 2006 - 4960 / 4.8 / 3287 / 281 2007 - 4600 / 4.7 / 3031 / 283 2008 - 5529 / 5.7 / 3632 / 308 I've highlighted the highest total in each category for the past 9 years. Notice anything? Now I challenge anybody to tell me with a straight face that Chad Pennington is limiting our offense, considering the performance of our offense during the past decade. The fact that Chad Pennington does this all with a "noodle arm" makes him that much more of a survivor. Vote Chad Pennington for Survivor in 2009. Note: I'm definitely making this its own thread after all that work...
I was hoping this would happen after sitting on the sidelines last yr! Now when we finally got down to the bread and butter in 2009 the debate begins, good going gentlemen!
LOL...looks like we're all waiting to be the one to put the death knell on Porter. And, as much as I'd like to be the one, I will step forward and be the set up guy. Would someone please put Mr. Porter out of his misery? Chad Pennington [67] Jake Long [132] + Ronnie Brown [123] Joey Porter [1] - Tony Sparano [127]
Chad Pennington [65] ------ Jake Long [132] Ronnie Brown [124] +++++ Joey Porter [1] Tony Sparano [128]
Chad Pennington [66]+ Jake Long [132] Ronnie Brown [124] Joey Porter [0]-Fitting that I retire him. Tony Sparano [128]
You fought the good fight sir, but as you realized sometimes ya just have to let em go. GLAD YA GOT THE HONOR EDIT: PS what would it take to get ya on the Sparano Bangwagon lol? I love Penny but coach brings it all together!
THE FINAL 4: Chad Pennington [67] + Even if you buy into the "noodle arm" statement, the fact that he got us into the playoffs on that noodle arm proves he's what being a survivor is all about. Jake Long [132] Ronnie Brown [123] - Tony Sparano [128]
I'll be leaving for the North Country on a fishing trip in a couple of hours meaning I will have no internet access until Monday evening. I'm hoping everyone can continue to do a fine job of keeping the count accurate. Thanks in advance! Oh, and one more request. Can all the Pennington supporters keep him in the competition while I'm gone?
Chad Pennington [67] + Our teams Unquestioned leader. Jake Long [132] Ronnie Brown [123] - ONLY 3 GAMES OVER 100 YARDS LAST SEASON!!! Tony Sparano [128]
Well fishing without me doesn't allow for much sympathy, but i'll try to help out! Catch a big one for me sir, and if Penny goes low i'll butt in for a few votes
I am going to do my best... I still don't understand Ronnie Brown's voting. If you look at his stats throughout his career and even last year they are actually very dissappointing.
Chad Pennington [69] +One for the fisherman Jake Long [131] - gotta keep it tight Ronnie Brown [122] - Tony Sparano [128] FOR MONSTBLITZ: "He is wonderful and strange and who knows how old he is, he thought. Never have I had such a strong fish nor one who acted so strangely... He cannot know that it is only one man against him, nor that it is an old man. But what a great fish he is and what will he bring in the market if the flesh is good." "You are killing me, fish, the old man thought. But you have a right to. Never have I seen a greater, or more beautiful, or a calmer or more noble thing than you, brother. Come on and kill me. I do not care who kills who." "Fish, I love you and respect you very much. But I will kill you dead before this day ends." "You did not kill the fish only to keep alive and to sell for food, he thought. You killed him for pride and because you are a fisherman. You loved him when he was alive and you loved him after. If you love him, it is not a sin to kill him." E HEMINGWAY
Chad Pennington [68] --- Sorry Chad Jake Long [130] Ronnie Brown [121] Tony Sparano [131] +++ The coach says...
My favorite author and one of my favorite books. I'm one of the few who didn't have to read it in English class but read it of my own free will! Hoping I can get one more vote in before I hit the road...
Sir i hear ya, the oldman read it to me when i was 6 and i've read it a dozen times again! Again enjoy and may i reccomend a bottle of capers in the old cooler, they go great with fresh caught breakfast
Chad Pennington [67] Jake Long [130] Ronnie Brown [120] - Tony Sparano [133] + Gish, why are you digging Sparano?
woah woah what happened you have changed sides? lol I'm open any time ya wanna talk Sparano FTW LOL we all jump votes lol i vote all over the place but Gish is killing me with his anti Sparano vote,
Chad Pennington [66] Jake Long [131]+ once killed a dragon! Ronnie Brown [120] Tony Sparano [133]- has trouble with speed rushers
It's a tough final 4, many have lines drawn many are open to ideas. Chad was a amazing force with his low mistake rate, gave us a chance to to win everygame . Long protected our Qb and reastablished the o-line for the fins as dominate for yrs to come Ronnie is a beast while he didn't have the best yr stat wise I believe his year was outstanding after his injury SPARANO: This man came in under Parcells, no small feat by the way, and developed his standard of excellents. He brings these individual guys together as a mean lean fighting machine! Now will it continue, I hope so. With the fire and attitude i've seen i expect great things. 1-15 to 11-5
