So, after a couple of years with a pretty nice phone(Palm Treo 750) that was constantly brought down by the EXTREMELY mediocre Windows Mobile OS, I upgraded to a blackberry curve .
It's been just over 24 hours and all I can say is, MAN WHAT AN UPGRADE

    Comments?

Congrats! It certainly is an upgrade. Though I'd imagine most would be over Windows Mobile OS. :)

I do have to say that Winmo is kinda weak in alot of areas. I have managed to get the best out of it by installing quite a few third party apps. I am pretty happy with it at the moment.

I will also say I do not care for Blackberries. I am happy that you are enjoying yours though. All that counts is that you are happy with it.

Been considering this myself. Glad to hear you're happy with the curve. I'm trying to decide b/t an iphone and a storm. Thinking I'll wait a month for the next iphone to come out (rumored)

I did an Iphone on a trial.
Without a doubt a very powerful and forward looking phone, however, gotta have me some qwerty, and after having a touchscreen in the treo, I know how bad a scratched up GUI can be

I tried both Bold and iphone. went with iphone because surfing the web is about a million times better.

Qwerty on the bold was nice though. but i'm used to the iphone keyboard. and the apps are just ridiculous for the iphone. but the blackberry is no slouch either.

I don't blame you for ditching Windows Mobile for a BB. I did the same thing back in November, I'd bought an HTC touch pro, or whatever it was called. I hated every second of using it. Slow, freezing, browsing was brutal, messaging, typing, just... everything about it sucked! I too switched to a blackberry Curve, and i love it. Its OS is plain, and nothing too flashy, but its so functional and easy to use. I love everything about it. Great choice IMO.

you might find this nice little miami dolphins theme usefull for your curve, ive got it on mine

i had the Curve before and loved it. I absolutely hate Windows Mobile. iphone is amazing but not a fan of the keyboard. i decided to try something different after the curve and went with the LG Vu, it was OK at first, but i liked my Curve much more. I got a Samsung Eternity after the Vu and love the Eternity. Like the Vu it has the Mobile TV, so come college football season i get a lot of live games on there. Im not sure what kind of money you had to spend, but the Blackberry 8900 just got released for at&t, which is an upgrade for the Curve. Its 199 after rebate on their website, little less then the 299 for the Bold. Havent gotten a chance to play with it, but im sure the 8900 is a beast.

WiFi, 3.2 Megapixel camera, incredible screen resolution, little bit sleeker design and a faster processing system. might be worth a look if you have the means.

Windows Mobile is the worst thing to ever run a cell phone. I will never do it again. It's HORRIBLE. Terrible battery management. Clunky slow interface. Just plain dumb (no you, the UI for Windows Mobile - Yes, even the new versions found in the HTC Touch Pro).

On that note, congrats on the MAJOR upgrade.

We got two curves for 99 bucks. That's 99 total:up:
That was just more appeal. I often tend to get stuff that is about to be upgraded as I enjoy the value aspect of it :ffic:

Honest question: Unless you are trying acess a particular network through your phone, what good is Wi-Fi?

much faster internet as the Curve doesnt run on at&t's 3G network, so the browser doesnt run as fast. although while i had my curve it was fast enough for me. 99 bucks for 2 is a great deal. i probably would of stuck with the Curve as well.

True in that the curve uses the Blackberry EDGE network instead of the 3G, I really don't notice any performance issues.I think that is probally BBOS versus the WINMOB as much as anything.

personally i doubt the truth to that. at&t is going to carry 5 different blackberries at the same time basically? thats not good business. specially considering most them are the same. i could see if one was flip, one was pearl, one was the curve style, and one was touch screen. but their not. there would be 4 curve style phones and 1 pearl style. btw, the Onyx looks thicker then the 8310 now. wonder why that would be. if i had to guess, some of those phones will be on TMobile, not at&t.

Unless you are a power user, Windows Mobile is pretty worthless to a regular phone user. I love my HTC Diamond, I run a custom Windows 6.5 Rom which isn't even out yet. The only people I know that enjoy Winmo phones are the guys running custom roms, the ones that come with the phone from Sprint or ATT are totally and utterly worthless. I totally understand why almost everyone would make the switch to a Iphone or Blackberry but for me I still like having the power of a Winmo phone.
