Ronnie will not be denied... ask the Rams [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNmhpLrwWdg"]YouTube - Ronnie Brown spins out for the touchdown[/ame]
Ronnie's a stud, no doubt, and I love all three of these guys. It's hard to vote against RB, esp when I have an autographed jersey of his. Tough to make a decision. But the Coach is putting it all together, so he's got my vote. Any one of these guys will be a great survivor champ though....
He does make a good arguement for Ronnie... yet I can think of two reasons that Ronnie shouldn't be Survivor 2009. 1. Injury history... 2. Since his contract runs out this year, he might not be here next year... Which of the final three gives you the greatest NET benefit... they are all good in their own right... but each does have his own drawbacks... for Jake Long: 1. #1 pick, he is essentially overpaid due to the outlandish contracts the top 10 receive... not his fault, but still, the facts are the facts. 2. This is only his second year in the NFL for Tony Sparano: 1. One year wonder under the shadow of Bill Parcells? 2. He likes to feel guys... 3. He says "that way" too much?
When have any of you seen a Phins team with as much resolve, confidence and determination as the 08 squad???? You HAVEN'T since the 1984-85 Dolphins - and we did it with out Hall of Fame players! TONY SPARANO.
Inversely, you could say that since Ronnie is in a contract year, he will produce this season! My argument against Ronnie is consistency. My argument against Sparano, that I have not seen mentioned yet, is that while he did demonstrate he has the makeup of a great coach, he also benefited from great QB play from Pennington. I think Pennington was more important to this teams turnaround than people give him credit for. How succesfull would Sparano have been with Chad Henne / McCown or * GASP * John Beck at the helm? My argument against Jake Long? Not very strong. Can he keep it up? Based on that logic, I should be voting for Jake Long. But when I think about it in terms of my favorite player Ronnie wins out. Also, when I wake up on Sunday morning, the guy that I really love to watch make it happen is #23. I'm still deciding whose horse I'm hitching my wagon too. Haven't worked it out in my mind yet.
You also forgot the statisticall history of Ronnie Brown as a reason he should be voted out: 1.) One has had ONLY one year where he rushed over 1,000 yards 2.) Highest career rushing total in a year is ONLY 1,008 yards. 3.) Last season he rushed for LESS THAN 60 YARDS IN 11 GAMES!!! 4.) ONLY has 25 CAREER Touchdowns in 4 years. I can keep going if you like. As much as we all like Ronnie Brown, we are all overrating him.
I think the bulk of the reason as to the lack of stats is the injuries... the last two years especially... in 2007 we all know what happened, he was certainly on his way though statistically speaking... in 2008, he was held back in touches because he was coming back from the injury. That's why I said injury history
