Well it's more than just strafing... I used strafing because it's obvious... You can do anything with the pistol out besides shoot and reload. You can take a step back ward, you can't step left or right, you can't turn and haul ***.. nothing. So anytime there's trouble in the game you have to deal with the few milliseconds of transition between aiming and not aiming prior to making a move. In a twitch based shooter like RE, those seconds count. It's almost as if they made the controls that way to make the game harder than it is then sell it as immersion or some crap. I realized that this isn't a big departure from RE4. I hated RE4's controls too (worse even... Yes, on the Wii too). RE5 was a little more tolerable (co-op was a major win). Note: I'm no Halo fan, I was being a jerk. Jeez.
From wikipedia Suppressive fire (also known as covering fire) is a term used in military science for firing weapons at or in the direction of enemy forces with the primary goal of reducing their ability to defend themselves or return fire, by forcing them to remain under cover. Suppressive fire differs from lethal fire (i.e. shoot-to-kill) in that its primary objective is to get the enemy to "keep their heads down" with the intent of preventing the opposing force from moving, returning fire, or to observe their surroundings. While soldiers may be injured or killed by suppressive fire, this is not its main purpose.
I agree completely. Tweaking with the animation speed for the putting the gun at your side would have been extremely helpful IMO. I also hate how the semi-auto rifle reloads automatically after firing(absolutely ******ed lol). Although it still sounds to me like you aren't fully utilizing the 180 spin though. I dont think you are simply a Halo fan, and I'm always a jerk. I just can't avoid trashing that game when I have the chance. It is too often highly praised IMO for no legitimate reason. It has always felt like "just another shooter" to me every time I have played any of the games from the series. Note: I dont claim RE5 is a perfect game, I just feel that it was logical after the success of RE4. I do want to see more innovation/evolution to the series, but certainly not in the direction of the cliched modern shooters. My favorite RE game is still the RE:Make. IMO a must buy for anyone with a gamecube or a Wii.
i almost really, really liked this game. it had nice graphics,playable/likeble characters then i got about 30 minutes into the game and got really, really tired of the loading every five frikkin seconds. i haven't played the on-line version of this but after my experience in the short time i don't want to. it also didn't have that res evil feel to me but this is all one man's opinion.i was really dissapointed because it seems like it could've been a game i got into as i was a big fan of the first 3.
thats why you should use the money that you are picking up to upgrade your weapons. They will be able to hold more ammunition, and if you upgrade it completely you can have unlimited ammo......which means NEVER RELOADING AGAIN!!!!
The only complaint I had about this game was the final boss... yeah it was unnecessarily lame, and in effect ruined the game. I thought it was excellent other than that. The controls didn't bother me a bit. If you know you can't move when you're shooting then maybe you need to work out another strategy other than trying to mow them all down
Yeah I didnt like how the screen is split either. I loved the game I thought it was great but I felt the game was lacking in some areas? Where is the fear?(or rather where has it been?) Yeah the game is tense but the RE series hasnt been **** your pants scary since the Remake. I miss the puzzles, I enjoyed the fact that you had to take a few moments to stop and think for a bit. I loved fighting the hoard of Lickers in ch 5-1. I thought the story was good. Spoiler They could have done more with Jill's role point Does anyone else find it funny that almost every final RE boss gets killed with a rocket launcher? as for the controls, well if you havent gotten used to them now...
my bad..i should've been a little more specific. i wasn't talking about re-loading bullets as much as i was talking about the actual load of the game. i blink an eye and have to wait for the game to load. some of it was cut-scene but most of it was load because i turned a corner or passed wind..to me it didn't feel smooth at all because of it and just couldn't take it anymore.
Funny but not necessarily true. I absolutely hammered that first big bug thing that came out of the truck with my machine gun... of course the unlimited ammo helped
My friend is going to let me borrow this game if I want. If I do get it, anyone want to do co-op with me?
