motion is so meh to me... No matter who's doing it. The system would be cool in theory to make your own endzone dances
Steven Spielberg making this new Microsoft Gaming experience out to be changing the gaming landscape forever. Hype and more hype.
Going to be very interesting to see how good the cameras are in this thing when it comes to scanning stuff into the system. Like I said I'm not wild about this stuff but this is very impressive technological advance...... If it works. And it appears that it does.
I have to say it is pretty impressive in that you wont need a controller at all, unlike the Wii. No batteries to charge, no second controllers to buy. I just question how well its going to work and how many games it will be usable in. I mean how much precision control are you going to be able to get? For a racing game I can see how the steering would work but what about your breaking and acceleration? I think its a pretty big step and a continuation of what the wii kinda started but its not something that I actually want to try and use when playing a FPS, which is pretty much all I play.
i think the whole thing was impressive, but not for the kinda games i wanna play. I hope they dont do what the Wii does and try to force-feed that motion stuff into every game... Even when it doesn't need it.
That was kinda my reaction too. Impressed, but a little weirded out. It could add a new element to RPG's though.
Thats my biggest concern as well. For exercise stuff it makes sense, and for simple arcade type action as well, but not for intricate games and shooters.
Well the Milo thing creeped me out and impressed me at the same time...very weird. The MGS announcement was huge as well as pretty much all Sony third party exclusives are gone and it looks like the day of third party exclusives may also be gone (plus MGS is why I picked a PS3 over the 360). Also I agree with the rest of you on the Natal thing. If it's used like Home and is just a secondary thing it can be great but if they try to force feed it and replace controllers it could backfire. Plus is there a release date? Overall great presentation by MS and they did knock this out of the park. They may have finally sold me on a 360 but sorry Med. the Wii still isn't essential for me.
well MGS4 is still a PS3 exclusive.... This MGS: Raiden is a whole new game. We'll see what it covers and when it takes place in the coming months i guess
Kojima just announced the next Metal Gear Game: Metal Gear Rising, I'm guessing its multiplatform since the images were initially leaked on a japanese PS3 mag.
Yeah I know but its clear the series in the future will be multiplatform because Konami wants to maximize profits. Nothing wrong with that. Either way MS has forced me to give up the days of being a single console owner because there are just too many games on the 360 and PS3 for me to resist anymore and I'm guessing next generation will be the same.
Thanks! I was watching G4 and they said the whole franchise was going to the 360 and didn't really understand why some were saying MSG4 was exclusive... Left 4 Dead was one of my favorite games ever. I loved it so ****ing much. Can't wait for L4D2. I'm kinda shocked it will be ready by November 14... I guess they could just make the series like SAW makes movies. One every fall...
Gotta say, for me, the biggest thing from that conference other then the Reach announcement is that in the UK they are going to offer streaming TV over the 360. Now THAT has the chance to change home entertainment as we know it. Just think about what it would do to the industry if you could get all your TV over your 360? No satellite dish, and no need for cable tv. Just a high speed connection and a gaming console. Its way overdue IMO, and I cant understand why no one has done legal streaming TV to the PC before now. I mean you can get some shows and stuff with Hulu or Youtube but I'm talking about being able to watch all TV that you can currently get on cable on a PC or console. It needs to happen and I think it could be done cheaper then current sat or cable, though it would up our bandwidth usage considerably as a nation. But heck, bandwidth is going to go through the roof regardless.
Which Raiden will we see? The whiny, emo ***** whipped Raiden from MGS2? or the badass ninja from MGS4(who is even more emo)?
Sorry never been a huge Nintendo fan, I was a Sega fan back in the day. They have never appealed to me but like I've said before although I may not dig the Wii that much I respect Nintendo for what they did. Obviously as we saw today Microsoft is following behind and Sony is supposed to tomorrow. So I'll say it...good job Nintendo.
i agree 100%. that was my fear going into this press conference and they pretty much just solidifyed them. Microsofts 'future for gaming' annoys me. I dont like where they're taking things. Facebook, twitter, no controllers, full body motion gaming, radio stations, etc etc. I didnt buy an xbox to do these things. I never expected it, or wanted it. I really hate that they came on the stage talking up their system with a lot of arbitrary crap saying thins like "The best system for RPGs, racing, and Shooters" and the only part of that i agree with for sure right now is shooters. I was really excited when i found out Molyneux was making an announcement but then dissappointed when i found out it was for this motion nonsense. Oh well. Hopefully the other two companies are less concerned with social crap and more concerned with games.

Final Fantasy XIII Shadow Complex Halo 3: ODST Halo Reach Metal Gear Solid Rising Project Natal Those are the only things they showed that I care about. And Only two of them are coming out this year (with one being an arcade title) Lame.
Matching the PS3. I don't much care for this feature, because I can almost always find a game cheaper than retail (especially catalog titles), and even with 120gb of space I'd rather just install the game from the disc onto the HD (and I like having the disc and booklet too).
nice for people who have nice big HDDs. But for those of us still rocking the original 20gb one. those games arent even an option.
