We need to keep in mind what is important to us, and that is our families, friends, and health. Not the house or the fancy cars you have in your drive way. We need to always have focus, and remember what the important things we have in life. Material things can always be replaced, or not held in such high regard, but family and friends cannot be replaced. Even on here, please make a friend for life, rather then an enemy. Life is too short, and we must not lose focus of what the important things are to us. May you have a great weekend!
Just being around family today for my wife's uncle memorial we had today at the park. He past away a month ago. Also the fact that I have a job that pays half of what I was making a year ago. I have always felt this way, but I feel this way more then ever brother, and I don't want brothers and sisters here to take for granted that there family and friends will be around for ever. Enjoy every minute you have with them.
I've said it before, John. You are one of the most giving and caring person I have had the pleasure to know. May God rain blessings down on you and your family. Thank You!
Amen John... great advice for anyone here. In these trying times, at least we have each other. Not you and me... I dont mean it that way... I mean all of us, as thephins.com family!
Good advice John and we need to be reminded of it every once in a while. Helps me gain perspective on the crap that is going on in my life right now. Thank you.
Thank you brother John. We are a bigger than ourselves because we are part of something bigger than ourselves. For me, it is this family here and so many other things that don't have do with material objects that make me who I am.
just remember. God has a sense of humor. He might send a pigeon to "rain his blessings" BTW Awesome sig
Nice vibe FFiC (John), thephins has such a solid community feel that in many ways when old friends log in and post, a small "Norm!" from Cheers springs to mind.
Not to John. He'd just get blessings. Thanks to Jason (inflames ) for my sig and avi. He does a wonderful job. I think my avi is the best of all. I'm not biased or anything.
I think this and so many other comments on here ring true. I am packing to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary. They are taking the whole family (15 of us) on an Alaskan cruise. My brother and I chose to fly out early and enjoy Seattle for a few days prior to the trip. My parents want to pay our hotel there, as they are paying for the cruise and many of the family member's airfare (not mine!). I told my dad, I don't have a lot of money, but I don't spend much money except on necessities and bills, so I save a lot. He told me, "When you didn't have any money you spent it like you did. I'm glad I've gotten to see you grow up even more." I think we're going to have a great time. I don't see so much as I'd like of my nephews, so I paid for and scheduled a boat for them to go salmon fishing with my husband and two brothers. I don't think that's material, just family fun.

Indeed. When a loan modification specialist wants to come over to do an intervention, that's not a good thing....
Great words John, thanks for the motivational post. Things are tough all over and many of us are struggling to keep what material things we have in these trying times. But family and friends are priceless.
