Saw VI in October. I love the franchise, warts and all, it's a fun sadistic ride on a rollercoaster from Hell. Watch the movies in their entirety in a row for a grand ole time.

Watched 'The Shawshank Redemption' again today. One of my favorite movies ever. One of the few that can have me blubbering in the last ten minutes, and then leave me with a smile on my face at the end. An amazing film.

Three of the stories from Different Seasons have been made into movies. Shawshank, Apt Pupil and Stand By Me (Which was based on The Body). Two of those movies are incredible, Apt Pupil was meh. Kind of Ironic that two non-horror stories from King became such huge movie hits.

Oh yeah, another great flick. Out of his horror stories, I think The Mist was one of the better jobs done. Same director that did Shawshank. Great in black and white, in fact, even better than it was in color.

Sisth Sense was great, Unbreakable was fun the first time I watched it, Signs was alright, but not that great overall, the rest was toilet paper with a soundtrack.

Boondock Saints (Unrated) the other night, and it was great, though I didn't notice much difference from the theatrical cut.

Appaloosa last night. HUGE disappointment. Not near what I was expecting, and I just thought it was pretty boring overall. It ended and I was like "that was it!?"

Saw Up and The Hangover over the weekend. Really like both of them quite a bit. Up was great, one of my favorite animated movies ever probably. Really heart warming story. And the Hangover was just a lot of fun.

pretty good movie. Val Kilmer was good in this. which brings up a question to me, he has always seemed like a good actor to me, why is it he isnt liked to much?

Dying Breed - Australian Horror flick, set in Tasmania. The kid from the original Saw, the photographer, was in it. Not a bad movie overall, reminds one of The Hills Have Eyes, but without the severe mutations.

Sam's Lake - American Horror flick, set in America. Meh, it was alright, but the plot twist could have been hidden better and revealed later in the movie to make it effective. Kind of a bland movie overall. I don't remember any boobs.

He's had his moments as a d-bag on set, in interviews, etc. I believe at the time he was the youngest person to attend Juliard for acting though. Or that is a myth.

Not sure. I always liked him.

I thought he was a pretty decent Batman in a terrible film too.

He did a real nice job as Jim Morrison as well.

This past week in South Bend, I saw:

Angels and Demons -- A rare sequel that far outclasses its predecessor. The pacing is much brisker, and the movie avoids the trap of being so cleverly convoluted the audience loses interest. Highly recommended, and I wouldn't wait for a rental if you can avoid it.

Up -- Another completely charming Pixar movie with a surprisingly moving emotional kick. This one will sucker punch you with the depth of feeling you develop for its characters. Oh yeah, and the visuals are as wondrous as you'd expect.

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian -- Entertaining enough, but one can't help feeling the considerable talents of some great cast members (notably Christopher Guest) are wasted. However, Amy Adams redeems the film. More to the point, my ridiculous crush on Amy Adams saves it.

Terminator: Salvation -- Things go boom, but when you tally up what has actually happened by the end, it's a big fat zero. Advance press had me going in with low expectations, yet still, I was disappointed.

    Drag Me to Hell
-- If you like horror movies, you MUST see this movie. Sam Raimi returns to the genre he does best, and if he doesn't hit a home run, it's at the very least a ringing double. Highly recommended.

Crank: High Voltage. If you saw Crank, you know exactly what to expect, and you get it all, and then some. Ridiculous, gratuitous fun.

I agree and am baffled why he doesn't get more roles? He WAS Jim Morrison in The Doors and for one of my favorite kid's movie he was brilliant in Willow.

With 2 young kids we don't get out to the theater much but just watched The Reader and Benjamin Button. The Reader was superb!
