hmm where did all these Sparano voters come from??? and too bad we didnt' have Saban on the list, hed probably win since apparently everyone wants to crown a guy after 1 season... Ronnie Brown [159] + Tony Sparano [291] -
Ronnie Brown [159] + made pro bowl last year Tony Sparano [291] - one year, not even coach of the year...
i disagree... for our teams success, week in and week out Sparano>Ireland>Parcells.... but still for this contest... Ronnie > Sparano Ronnie Brown [158] + Tony Sparano [292] -
Without Parcells, we don't have Sparano. If we're going to thank someone for our one year turnaround, and that someone being either a coach or front office person, it has to be Parcells. This is not a shot at Tony, he's great. But for him to win this thing, in the end, I just think it's putting the cart before the horse, spreading on the mayo after you've put on the mustard, eating a hotdog with no bun, buying a pizza with no cheese...
Ronnie Brown [157] -One year on contract gets hurt to much Tony Sparano [293] + Finally another great HC!
Ronnie Brown [156] --- Tony Sparano [294] +++ Without Tony, you really think Ronnie makes it to the Pro bowl last season? Jake? Joey? Tony turned this team around, yes Parcells helped, but Tony did the hard work, the gazillion hours, the motivating, gaining the respect of the players. TONY did a heckuvalot more to turn this team from 1-15 to 11-5 than Ronnie did, I'll tell you that!
Ronnie Brown [157] + Tony Sparano [293] - The coaches only do so much. The players make it happen on the field. Tony can't push Ronnie into the endzone, can't fight for that first down, can't bowl over opposing linebackers or safeties. That's what Ronnie has been doing for us for the past few years now. That's why he's a survivor.
Um yeah. I was well on his way to not only the pro bowl, but leading the league in rushing and yard from scrimmage with Cam as the coach.
and what happened again ??? did he not finish the season for some reason ?? Love me some Ronnie but most important Dolphin...I dont think so.
Tony didn't come up with the Wildcat, which was the main reason we won a few of our games last season. The players do the work on the field, and the Head Coach isn't always the one who even puts them in position to win.
but the fact that Ronnie was dominating under Cameron shows that it wasn't just Sparano that got Ronnie to produce... Ronnie was producing regardless of who was here... him tearing an ACL chasing a defender after an interception doesn't negate the fact that he as dominating week in and week out on a crap team when given the opportunity...
i dont know, then Huizinga > Parcells according to your thinking... Parcells put the pieces together sure, but those pieces still had to do the work every day to make the turnaround happen...
never said Sparano was the reason for Ronnies success...Im saying you can replace Ronnie a lot easier than you can replace Sparano...he has been a Productive RB but its a disposable position.
he "survived" that knee injury, making the pro bowl the following year... and he "survived" the 1 and 15 season.
Sparano hasn't "survived" anything yet... hasn't really faced adversity... you think if we went 0 and 16 last year, he'd still be here this year? Of course he would... as long as Tuna was still calling the shots.
So let me get this straight. If we would of went 0 and 16 it would of been Tony's fault. But we went 11-5 because of Tuna?
Ronnie Brown [156] - Tony Sparano [294] + In our standard Offensive package Ronnie could only average <4 ypc, so SPARANO has the WildCat put in, boom: Ronnie's avg YPC in WC jumps to over 5. I give a lot more credit to Tony than Ronnie for that. And do NOT tell me Parcells had anything to do with the WildCat being installed. That was decided on the plane back from Phoenix, Parcells wasn't even on that plane. Parcells didn't even go to most of the road games, but you guys still won't give Sparano any credit for the turnaround? You want to give all the credit to Parcells? I think that's nuts. I give Parcells a LOT of credit, for hiring Ireland and Sparano. Most of the rest of the credit for the turnaround goes to Sparano and his coaching staff. A vote for Tony is a vote for ALL the coaching Staff! And who doesn't think they ALL deserve to be the sole Survivor? (geez, I'm really gettin into this stuff )
what? where in anything I said did I state that? You've taken portions of what I've said and fused them together to make a flawed statement...
first, at you getting into it... Second, on the bolded above... all I'm saying is that there would be no Sparano without Parcells... that's all... Tony deserved to be coach of the year last year, he was snubbed by AP (I think it was), but got the USA Today vote (IIRC). But I stand by my original statement: Ronnie is a Survivor... Sparano hasn't been there yet, and I hope he never will have to because that'll mean 2007 all over again. Who was out there against the Jets running for first downs in the fourth quarter with the game / season/ division/ playoffs on the line???
