No love for UCF anymore this year? I'm anxious to see how they play Sunday night against Tulsa. Anyone else?

For those of us UCF'ers out there.....

Looks like Oleary and crew did a pretty good job, especially considering all the negative press trying to turn a tradgedy into a damnation of the program this past year.
Dosen't seem that any of the prospects bought into any of it after they visited the campus and coaches.

There's still a 4 star recruit out there in Kwame Geathers considering the Knights that is supposed to declare his choice Friday. While I doubt his signing with UCF at this point because Tenn. and UGA have really come after him hard late it would really put us into a great class if he signs.

Exactly. He should be an OK player, but I'm hoping he gives us more exposure...

You know if Jordan's kid does anything highlight worthy that ESPN is going to be playing it... lol

Saw that the other day and was excited! Just one more thing to put UCF on the map, whether he pans out or not.

This thread was the deciding factor....

in my choice for a Dolphin forum. Been a Gator fan since I can remember. Growing up in Orlando I became an instant Golden Knight fan. I remember (volunteer) head coach Don Jonas. Been through alot with this program. The 1AA playoffs, the growing pains of 1A, the almost victories with Culpepper. And being there against Alabama for the first big win of Knight history.

Looking forward to the upcoming football season.

Reefer, who are you? I was there at one time.

cnc, great avatar, biggest crime that man isn't in the HoF.

    Dolphinsgirl, ditto on your avatar.

Seems we share a lot of the same great UCF memories! I was a Marching Knight when we were in Division II and the 1AA playoffs. The Troy State game is one of the most memorable football games I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Remember the noise penalties? I live in PA now but was down for the opening of Brighthouse Stadium against Texas and went to Homecoming this year. Great place to watch a game!

    I remember.....

the noise penalties against Troy. My mother went to Troy and when their band played the alma mater, she was the only person standing in a sea of black and gold.

I committed to UCF in 84, I had a accident that summer, tore up an ankle and never played again. Was looking forward to playing for Lou Saban.

That's a shame that you couldn't play for UCF. (I started there in '87 so I would have gotten to see you play!) It truly has been amazing to watch the program grow over the years. Looking forward to a great season!

Really? You chose a Dolphin forum based on the UCF thread? LOL.
Glad you showed up my fellow Knight brother!

I played under Gene Mcdowell 90-92.
Never made much of an impact and left to pursue Beach Volleyball at the time.

The thing I still remember most about playing for the team was what a character Mike Kruczek, who was the OC at the time, was.

THe guy would always be finishing up a full workout when we came in for player workouts at 6am. He told us he'd work out for 1.5 to 2 hours before wed get there. That puts him starting workouts at 4AM -4:30 in the morning. What makes that even more crazy is that we'd all leave study hall and/or film studies at the athletic facilities at 10 PM and he'd still be there in the offices. I don't know when the guy slept he was a robot.

He was as addicted to working out as he was to coaching and he was ripped up like a sleeker Arnold Schwarzenneger.

He carried a vat of white rice and chicken that he'd eat from all day..... the only thing he'd eat.... and walked around practice with a tank top and minny runners shorts that left his junk hangin out all the time. It was hysterical.

I LOVED UCF and my time on the team.
Still love the school and the team.
Great School and a fantastic campus.
Have you seen what's happened there since you've left?

Sorry to hear you never got the chance to play there.

Welcome to the boards my man!

What a great story about Kruczek! I always liked him better than McDowell. It's nice to hear how dedicated he was. Thanks for sharing Coral Reefer!

UCF Knights Football continues to build for solid future by hauling in it's best recruiting class ever for 2 years in a row.

UCF moved up the rankings by stealing two solid recruits from USF and Louisville on Signing day.

THe late additions moved UCF up to 56th best class and second in Conf. USA behind Houston.

Jose Jose and Jeffrey Godfrey especially can play...you never know with linemen but Jose fit that offense well, power player that plays a lot like Josh Sitton for Knight fans and his hand punch is phenomenal for a HS kid. No one will care that Godfrey is 5-11 in two years the kid has a hose and is extremely accurate ...... reminds me of less athletic Armani Edwards and has a wow arm depsite the height......great class. Would not be shocked to see Godfrey play as a true or RS freshman.
