They've been making a big deal about this on the local radio stations. It's fun to be able to talk smack once again. Reminds me of the days of Louis Oliver and Bryan Cox.

funny how ryan starts off trying to diss channing by saying he "doesn't know this channing crowder" and "all i know is he's tatted up", but later states "he's a good player and all that stuff." he really needs to work on his smack talk for this year or it's gonna get real boring. i also find it funny that a coach would respond to a player's smack via the press...he must be truly worried.

I like the fact that Crowder likes to have fun and joke around, but getting into a back and forth with another team can't be making Parcells happy after having to deal with TO in Dallas. Bill likes his players to do their talking out on the field, and personally I think Crowder needs to make a play or two before yapping his gums.

    And Crowder's answer?

“He says he’d take care of me if he was younger?” Crowder said. “I’d have beat the hell out of that big old joker. Or if he really wants to get retro, my daddy or my uncle could have handled him. Don’t get big. Win with preparation? Start watching some tape and learn who your rival is. Come on now.”

:sidelol: This is awesome, Rex better watch out when the Jets are on offense. I can see Channing run to the sidelines to lay out a running back with the ball and "accidentally" miss and level Ryan. That would be a youtube sensation.

I love this, all of our rivalaries(especially the jets) have finally been built up to what they were before we started to miss the playoffs 7-8 years back. I love the fire. It should make for some great division games this year.

Rex looks like the acorn didn't fall far from the tree, his daddy was a loudmouth fool who made a great DC and really bad HC. I am soooo glad Rex is HC of the Jests, he can now be their court Jester.

This is going to be fun!

Crowder needs to STFU. JP too. Very seldom do trash-talkers come out on the winning side after they've added extra fire to an opponent.

Parcells dealt with Lawrence Taylor before he ever dealt with TO. And since he's dealt with both of them I think he can deal with Channing Crowder.

Crowder made several plays last year. None of them were eye popping plays but he consistently made tackles on the inside. Out of our ILBs he had the most tackles last year.

''Oh, Lord have mercy,'' Crowder said Tuesday. ``What's wrong with him? Now he's talking about preparation? We play them twice this year. If he wants to be prepared, shouldn't he know the starting middle linebackers of his division rival?''

    exactly what i'm sayin'!

anyway, why are we mentioning TO and channing in the same subject? does anyone seriously think they are even close to the same character type? seriously?

Channing called out Ryan, after Ryan ran his mouth about how great the jets are. Ryan responded. Channing replied to the response. I am not responding to the reply to the response.

I think whats funny about this is that a coach is stooping down to a players level and talking trash with him. What does Ryan have to prove to Crowder? Come on! He obviously is insecure and doesn't believe the things he has said, and so he finds the need to talk trash to act big and bad. Well he's big regardless.

True, he is good against the run, when he doesnt have to read too much of the offense, but he is total crap against the pass.

Rex involves himself in this kind of banter with a player of a rival team because he is a classless idiot, who is so desperately over his head trying to cope with franchise responsibilities:tantrum: that he's not thinking straight.
    The Jets are screwed.
