Watched Transformers 2 today. Nicely done special effects and it was entertaining enough to say I'm glad I went to see it on the big screen.

Godfather 3 - I liked it. I had always heard everyone say how bad it was, I expected a heck of a lot worse.

It was the worst out of the three Godfather movies, but a great movie regardless.

The Hangover - Great. Absolutely hilarious.

Transformers 2 - Not as good as the first one. Well action scenes might have been better, but very little development from characters I guess. I still liked it, it just left a lot to be desired.

    1. Too much screen time for the twins (Mudflap and Skids). They made Sideswipe so freakin' sweet and he got barely any screen time. Jolt is barely in the movie, and he looked pretty awesome too.

    2. The girl who was a decepticon (Alice). First off, hardly anyone who calls themselves a transformers fan actually is familiar with the pretender line. Secondly, it is a dumb line (I only thought it was an interesting concept when IDW fleshed it out) and I really don't think it fits in with the movie at all. I mean, why wouldn't they have more that infiltrate military complexes, etc?

    3. I didn't like the Matrix of leadership design too much, and especially not that it was just a key to a machine for the most part.

    4. So Sam is now Hot Rod? What is he, Witwicky Prime (rather than Rodimus Prime)? Don't kill him just to bring his dumb *** back to life, with some stupid "earning the matrix" BS. He didn't need to die to earn it.

    5. Killing Optimus....really? Is this Transformers: the Movie circa 1986? He's been killed once, and it was a "mistake" and then he got resurrected. It has all been done before. I have no problem with Prime dying. It even made sense that he would not survive against the # of foes he faced. But then there has to be a convenient way for him to be brought back to life. Why not bring Jazz back to life? Or Jetfire after he sacrificed himself only to have prime throw his parts away after he was done.

    6. Why did they have to "kill off" Jetfire? First Jazz, then Jetfire. Both were two of my favorite characters from the show/comics.

    7. I LOVED Ravage. I even liked what they did with Soundwave. I liked that Skorponok returned.

    8. Where is Wheeljack and Prowl? You have Jolt, Arcee, Mudflap and Skids, but not those two? I didn't like Arcee as multiple motorcycles either. I am picky maybe.

    9. Had some sweet new decepticons, and they don't even really get introduced aside from as Devastator. Sideways didn't even get to transform into his robot mode.

    10. I actually ended up liking Wheelie, who I don't care much for in the cartoon.

    11. I guess I am too picky. I want a transformers movie though, that focuses on them primarily, not all this screen time by humans anymore. The first one was fine, as it was a good "intro," but I don't need to know more about individual military members than any Autobot.

After reading the 10 plot holes in Transformers 2 on yahoo makes me not wanting to see the movie. Sounds really ****ty just alot of explosions and CGI fighting.

Saw Land of the Lost and thought it was Will's better movies better than his Fiction character movies for sure. Some parts were stupid but I thought overall funny.

That's why you don't read that stuff till after you've seen the movie, too many spoilers:up:

The movie's just like it said at the beginning of the article (though he was being a movie snob about it), a popcorn movie made about toy robots. Don't go in expecting Citizen Kane and you won't be disappointed.:knucks:

Plothole #5 isn't exactly a hole, as it (Pretenders) has been done in the TF Universe, they just do a poor job of explaining most things in this movie.

Plothole #6- The guy obviously isn't a fan of the show or comic. All Original 13 Transformers were Primes, and direct descendants of Primus. Aside from those 13, the term "Prime" is reflective of an Autobots rank and/or possession of the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. And no, TFs can't have kids in a traditional sense, but they can have brother and sisters (see Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus) given that Vector Sigma was used to bring nonsentient robots to life.

Some of the others are bit harder to explain, though not all are accurate. it's easiest to say he's just being a dick about plenty of that stuff.

Went to see 'Public Enemies' today. Pretty long at 2hrs & 23 min, but it doesn't seem like it. Lot's of good shootouts. Billy Crudup, who played the guitarist Russell in 'Almost Famous', does a great job as Edgar Hoover. Depp was good as Dillinger as well. Worth a look, IMO

Saw Pelham this morning, it was ok, but not one that couldn't wait to be watched at home.....

Watched 'The Soloist' this afternoon. If you don't like classical music, which I happen to love, then it might be kinda boring for you. Makes you wonder how many homeless people are just lazy, and how many have serious mental problems, like this guy did.

I thought it was a good movie.

Basically, Johnny Depp was the only reason to watch this movie. He's really good as usual, and the shots and settings are really nice.

    The rest was ehhh.

Bale is a non-factor and I really didn't even notice he was in the movie.

    That was the whole point.

That is what makes him a great actor.

His character was supposed to be understated.

I also love that they didn;t get into all the BS character development...... that is just blatant weak movie making.

They just assume that you know all the characters and then jump into the story from there. I loved that.

It is easily the best Cops and robbers flick since Heat. a spectacular film and Michael mann should have himself an oscar nod for this one.

I'm glad you said this-I have been putting off seeing that movie because I have such great memories of the original when I was a teenager. It isn't my favorite by any stretch, but I have great memories of watching it while familiarizing myself with female anatomy. Now I won't bother unless, of course, I have an opportunity to become familiar with someone while watching. Then all bets are off.
