Living in Miami you see alot of ****ty drivers so I decided to post this entertaing and edumactional list of things not to do when driving: 1) Learn when to shut off your f'ing high beams- I drive alot at night and once in awhile I get a blinding light shining from behind me right into my 3 mirrors, which shine the light right into my eyes. Which is a tiny inconvience, as I a human bieng need my eyes to you. Uhhh whats that thing called? Oh yeah to see where the hell I'm going. TURN OFF YOUR HIGH BEAMS! You have the street lights, your standard headlights(and lot of these happen to be Xenon headlights) and the lights from the cars around you. Its not like its pitch black out there. 2) Tailgaters - Honestly whats more annoying then some kid ranting on a website about ****ty drivers? Tailgaters, or as I like to call them "the douches who can smell what I had for breakfast". What better way then to get into an accident then to follow an inch behind somone's fender, hit the brakes to late, and slam into the person in front of you? You get bonus dumbass points for causing a pileup. 3) The left most lane isnt for slow *** drivers- STFOIIYAO60 honestly why do people do 25 MPH in the goddamn fast lane? Its not like you are looking for an Address, YOU'RE ON THE HIGHWAY! FYI You're also backing up a ****load of people behind you, way to go *******. 4) Multitasking - Call me a mysoginist but it sure looks to be true 90% of the time, women are always the ones multitasking on the road, yapping away on their cellphones, doing their nails, texting, writing, fumbling with the Ipod etc, and they wonder why they get into accidents. Multitaskers are almost always responsible for breaking commandments 2) and 3) baecause they arent paying attention to what they're doing. 5) Those arrows arent for show - USE YOUR TURN SIGNALS! I'm not a mind reader, neither is anyone else around you. You cant just wing it and say "gee I hope he/she knows I'm coming into their lane!" Its not like learning to drive stick, all you have to so is flip the damn switch up or down. Hell you dont even have to look at the damn thing as it should come naturally to you.
6) Turn your ****ing radio down. If I wanted to hear the crap you're blasting outta your souped up Civic I'd be crammed in the backseat with the rest of your wigga friends.
for number 5, i think it's safer to not use turn signals. the moment i turn it on, the person next to me speeds up, so i never use them. in that case. i got another one, if you flip on the turn signal . . . then turn!!!! i hate people who make the "eventual left."
Just because you might not get in in front of someone is no reason to just turn into a lane thus maybe causing an accident.
miami traffic is very congested. it's not about "getting in front." if there is a space, you have to take it. you turn on that signal and the space evaporates.
I actually count on that, since there is usually space behind the a-hole who wouldnt let you into that lane I just slow down as they speed up.
same way here man. but either way you are risking an accident so you don't lose some time. That doesn't seem selfish to you?
I don't like the 'red light nosepickers' and boy are they out there. I love catching them, then imitating them when they realized they got busted.
i guess we see it differently. i just assume the person is going to speed up, and there is somebody behind him that will speed up, and that i will never get into that lane. i'm not accelerating or trying to get anywhere quicker, i just want to get into the next lane. i work in hialeah if anybody is familiar with that area.
the article is from 2007, but has miami as the number one road rage city: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18665115/
I don't live in Miami, so I don't know how bad it is where you are. But, I can tell you...it's pretty bad 'round here. As it is in most urban areas. And, I could rant all day long 'bout it. Aggressive drivers, tailgaters, slow pokes in the "passing" lane, you name it. But, my number one complaint anymore, above and beyond the aggressive and/or discourteous drivers, is the drivers that are either talking on their cell phones. Or, worse yet...texting. I mean, they are in a different world, and are an accident waiting to happen. I'll be the first to admit that I occasionally talk on my cell phone while driving (I have a phone for business purposes, and have to be available to my customers and my company). But, I really don't like to do it. In fact, I look to avoid it as much as possible. And, in the instances when I do do it, if I feel like I'm losing my concentration on my driving, I either get off the road, or ask if I can call the person back that I am speaking to. Honestly, I'd rather not even have a cell phone. I'm over it already. Thing is...how many of these conversations that you see are really all that important? I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority are just idle chit chat. I honestly believe a lot of people that are driving solo make phone calls simply because they are bored and want someone to talk to while they're driving. Matter of fact, I have one friend that I know for a fact that is the case. Dude can't go five minutes without running his yap at someone. Sigh...
I keep seeing people texting on the highway. That is just insane. One of the Car magazines did a recent study that showed that texting had a worse effect on reaction times than DUI.
2) Tailgaters The ones that do it when there is plenty of room to pass or worse a flock of them all tailgating one slow guy on a wide open 2 lane road forcing you to pass several cars It should be legal to kill these people...horribly...slowly...with a spork.
#2, I hate tailgaters. If some jackazz is tailgating me, I will slow way down just to piss (usually a guy) off. I also hate when someone cuts right in front of you and then puts thier damn brakes on.
#4 is SO true; it's not as if women drivers in general aren't less inclined to focus on their driving than - oh, say - any of the SEVEN THOUSAND other things they seem to find more more attractive than paying attention. And I'm sorry, ladies, but yes - it's true, with some bright exceptions to the general rule. #1 seems to be the reverse here; the (seeming) hundreds of billions of Californians moving here since since the late '90s don't seem to grasp the concept of proper headlight usage. They don't turn them on in the rain, even though 90% of the jerks seem to drive silver or gray cars, which are like camouflage here 2/3 of the year. And the whole "half-hour before dusk/dawn" thing just seems to be beyond their grasp as well.
Driving anywhere in Florida is like driving on a wide open road compared to driving up here. Kill or be killed NJ/NYC style. FTW!
If you arn't driving fast enough, move the F outta the way! Nothing pisses me off more than someone driving the exact speed limit.
True dat. Even the cops know that the real speed limit is up to 10 MPH over the posted limit...except in school zones or residential roads. Which I still don't agree with, but respect nonetheless.
Yeah, for sure. For school zones the speed limit should be 90. I love running kids over and when I do, I don't stop. I keep on going. Life is too short to live in the past. Its over now. Havn't you caused enough pain already without stopping and asking them dumb questions like "Are you hurt?".
what's been bothering me on the road lately is the f'ers that want to do 20 miles an hr on the "on" ramp of interstates. and the f'rs doing ten miles under the speed limit but you can't pass them because they can't stay in their own friggin lane. arrrgghh!!! oh and the ones that put on their blinker, slow down and not turn then go a few streets put on their blinker and not turn. and the morons trying to exit in a entrance lane(mostly seen at fast food joints) then wonder why everyone is honking and giving them the byrd.
D.W.V. Sorry ladies, but the vast majority of the offenders on this list fall into you're demographic. It seems like it takes nothing to distract you. And even if you are focused on the road, it's scary watching/being in the car with most of you. I don't think women should be allowed to have radios, electronics, sun visor mirrors, purses, or friends in the car while their driving.
Whoa there. I am a responsible driver. Don't put all of us women in one category. I've seen many men talking on the phone, combing their hair, looking in their mirrors, eating etc. I don't use my cell phone in the car, nor put on make-up etc. I bet it didn't bother any of you much when your mom had to haul you around to school, games and anywhere else you wanted to go before you could drive. And you might consider some of us going slower and being more cautious is because we have older cars and can't afford anything else. My car is ok, but it doesn't have the speed that most do. You guys hate being stereo typed, so lay off us women. We're NOT all the same.
