Just had to come and say, YEA! Our Minor league baseball starts in Columbus GA a week from today. Me and the grandgirls are so excited, we can't wait. It's the Columbus Catfish. The A ball team from Tampa Bay. They won the Championship last year in the pouring rain and it was fantastic. Their probably leaving Col. after this year. Not many in Col. support them which I think is crazy, these kids are good and play hard.
Thanks for letting me spout off.
    Go Dolphins----and go Fish.

I love going to minor league baseball games. I played high school ball with a guy drafted by the Devil Rays and he plays minor league ball for them. I dont exactly know where though. My favorite day to go to minor league games is on Thirsty Thursdays. Dollar Beers.

The Colorado Rockies AAA baseball team (The Colorado Springs Sky Sox) play less than a high mile from me. They shoot off fireworks after every Sky Sox home run and after the games Friday nights. My dog goes nuts when this happens.

We like any give-a-away night. The grandgirls like the mascot, Hook. They do so many fun things. It's the most relaxing thing for me to go there and just chill.
We started going when Pete Rose Jr. played there for the Redstixx, Clevelands A team and have been going since. That was in the early 90's. My grandgirls have been going since they were each a month old.
we have thirlsty thurs too, I don't drink, but there's plenty that do.

Give away nights are sweet. Did your grandgirls ever get to go on the field for an event during the game? Cause they usually have kids race around the bases or do some sort of activity in between innings every now and then.

Yea. They've raced the mascot. And they let them just run the bases after the games for a prize. Bingy(nickname), the older(9) one signs up for stuff, but hasn't gotten called so far. The 5 year old, MoJo, her nickname, is still a little shy, but she loves Hook the mascot.
I just love the smell of the field, the concessions, the game itself and those kids trying their hardest to get to the bigs.

Thanks. We always do. We've sat in the rain, cold, terrible humidity etc. all season long.
We'll have a hot dog and Pepsi for you. :hi5:
