    Now that's a flagrant foul.

Former New Jersey Nets star Richard Jefferson bailed on his stunning fiancee — pulling the plug on his posh Manhattan wedding at the 11th hour without even alerting some of the guests, The New York Post has learned.

The cold-footed forward's decision to ditch onetime Nets dancer Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols was so last-minute that some of his oblivious friends had already shown up last Saturday at the swank Mandarin Oriental in Columbus Circle for the $2 million wedding that never happened.

    Pretty low, IMO.

I'll never understand this kind of thing.

If you're not ready to get married, then don't get in engaged. Its really not complicated.

Marriage involves a woman, two if you're lucky, and you say it's not complicated? Heathen!

    Its not.

If you are unsure, then don't do it. The thought process is exactly the same as making the decision to wear a banana hammock or not.

Well, better to back out now then suffer for a few years then suffer through a divorce, it's rough on the fiance' but it is a lifetime committment, better to enter into only when one is 100% certain.

    Very true.

Still you should be a 100% sure before you get engaged. You can be less than 100% when you move in together.

    Best Low-Blow Left-at-altar Story Evar:

I knew this guy who was heavily into drugs. Through all the **** he put his girlfriend through, she stuck by him. Even while he went to rehab and entered a 12-Step.

Fast forward a couple years later, he's cleaned himself him up and he asks her to marry him. She says yes, and they book a (non-refundable) Wedding Cruise for friends and family... did I mention it was non-refundable?

Well, while he was getting his **** together, he found God. So THE WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING he tells his bride-to-be that he cannot marry her unless she converts to Christianity. She is Jewish, and of course says no. Wedding off.

The best part of the story is that they still went on the Cruise. God what I would have given to see the tension between those two families when they came into contact on that boat

Richard Jefferson was always over-rated by the 37 fans the Nets actually have. Good to see he's really doing well outside of Jersey. :shifty:

As bad as it is to do that to your fiancee the night before, this only reminds me of how great some women have it in America.

How many guys do you know that have gotten 6 figure settlements every time they've been dumped by a gf?

    :listens to the crickets:

6 figures and I'm sure it wasn't $100,000, I'm sure it was more in the $500,000 range. Nice pocket money.

That supposedly didnt happen, at least not that amount spent anyway. Also, Jefferson claims the wedding would not have cost 2 Million, and that he dumped this chick 2 weeks before the wedding. The text he sent her was just to clarify his feelings... so he says.

It would be tough to spend a Million in one night. That would be some lavish hotel rooms, ALOT of drinks, and some damn expensive hookers.

Oh, puh-leeze. That might have worked for you, but for many couples getting married for the first time there's always uncertainty (mostly men's side). Many guys have a fear of commitment that tough to overcome until they put that ring on that finger. Sometimes it pans out and they live happily ever after (see my 2nd marriage). Sometimes, should have listened to your doubts (see my 1st marriage).

Why is he a "world class" douche? He realized that he didn't want to marry her, and he called it off. He even gave her a large sum of money to make sure she could get back on her feet. He didn't have to give her anything. He obviously cared enough about her to not just put her out on the street.

For that he's a douche?
