This is not a thread saying the Dolphins will go to 0-16. I certainly hope and plead to any higher power, whether it is God, the President or the Zebras on the field that we get a win or two this year. But what if we do? Will you be able to keep publicly acknowledging that your team was the worst to ever hit the field in one season? I, for one, would. Because at the end of the day, even with all the criticisms, I'm still a fan of the Fins, no matter how utterly depressing it would be. And please, don't say "we won't go 0-16", because every game we were "supposed" to win, we've lost.
Dude, Im already a Bucs fan! Hahahah, J/K - The Wins still far exceed the Losses! As a fan of the Fins, I am also representing South Florida, and I am damm proud to be from South Florida!!!!!!
Bro, my skin is Orange and my blood Teal. Every weekend I wear my colors with pride and when I hear crap like the FINS SUCK, I politely turn around and say "We will have our day soon enough". Then the trash talking stops and the respect kicks in. No more comments about how bad the FINS are, 99% of the time they ask what moves are happening and how the loss of this or that player has made an impact on our record. Be it injury or cut. How a play or 2 has been the difference of an 0-12 record versus a 4-3, 5-4 or 6-6 record. I still get ridden by my family... They are all diehard Steelers fans... I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters and my parents that have ridden my butt since 1971 but I have... AND ALWAYS WILL... SUPPORT MY FINS!!!
What freaking team do YOU root for? Because the Fins don't have TEAL as one of their colors. It's AQUA. Anyway...what am I gonna do? Suddenly become a fan of another team? At my age? I'd be more likely just to stop rooting for any team whatsoever, but I love football, so I doubt I could do that.
No... The color is TEAL... Actually a dark Teal... And if you would like to challenge that, I would be more than happy to accept that challenge...
The colors have NEVER been listed as teal. You can sit there and pull out color cards that may show the actual colors to be supportive of your argument but the names and shades vary with the source. It dosen't matter. There's no challenge for you to win. The official Dolphin colors have always been listed as Aqua bottom line. Back to our regular scheduled discussion, of course I'd still be a fan. I don't have any control over it. It's in my blood that I'm a Dolphin fan. I'll never be able to fully "cope" with it though if they go 0-16. It will always be something that makes me wince if it happens.
not to say i would like it or even expect it but.......yes. Phin fan for too long to give up. still my team.
OK bro... Not a problem... We will call it AQUA... As in the color of the water around Miami... In either case, my blood is a bluish-green color... I LOVE MY FINS!!!
Heck. I'm an Oriole fan. Remember when we started out 0-21? Set a ML record? Been and Oriole fan since 1970 and a Dolphin fan since 72. Not a chance I change.
Im a loud and Proud Dolphin fan in the heart of New England here in Rhode Island. I get my orbs busted daily about being a Dolphin fan and with the Cheap shot Cheatriots going undefeated right now its like living in hell... But if we went defeated and they went undefeated I might break a few glasses and punch a few walls, but I would still gladly rep my Marino throwbacks and take my beatings as I always have here... As I say in sports things work in cycles, so there will come a time when the Pats are crappy again and we are good...Its just a long hard battle untill then... Ride or Die Baby...Dolphins for life.... and OH YEAH I had to add: LETS GO RICKY HATTON KNOCK THAT LOUD MOUTH MAYWEATHER OUT TOMORROW NIGHT!!!
i will never hear the end of it from my friends, if we go 0 - 16. i will be the laughing stock, but i will still be a dolphin fan. i think i would try to get drunk sooner so i could pass out and not hear it from them on game day.
I almost think it would be amusing. Every year when a team started out 0-6 or 6-0, or whatever, there would be jokes about emulating the '72 Dolphins or the '07 Dolphins. My priority is a Pats loss. The 17-0 standard can last decades if not centuries if someone can knock off this annoying and fortunate bunch. Plus, if NE does manage 19-0 you'll have inevitable comparisons to '72 Miami, with consensus that the score would have been 40-14 if the two teams met. Believe me, it will be unbearable. The 0-16 will be lost amidst that type of comparative garbage. The '72 team grows in esteem and lore if even this high powered dynasty can't pull off perfection.
If you can not be a fan of a team when they are at their worst then you have no right to be a fan when they are at their best.
No Sweat... Frustration, anger, a readiness to throw a brick at the television, maybe!! 0-16 ain't a pretty thought, but put alongside the other stuff I deal with day to day, no sweat. We just need to borrow a line from the oulde Brooklyn Bums fans - "Wait until next year!"
Will still be a fan of course but a winless season is something that will haunt the Dolphins till all of us are 6 feet under. We need 1 win PLEASE SANTA
i find self-deception and blind denial to useful tools in this troubled time. i like to make believe that, like cleveland, our team up and moved one night and changed its name to the baltimore ugly buildings, leaving us free to receive an expansion franchise which we, in our ultimate and pathetic denial, named the miami dolphins. since this is a recent expansion team, we have had a rough go of it since 1996 when coach shula resigned rather than be associated with the no-good, rotten traitors who abandoned their loyal fans in miami. that, and he wanted more between-the-sheets time with mary anne. not expecting much from this young franchise, i have been able to rationalize their shortcomings through the coaching changes and the horrific drafting of the wannstedt and the saban years. but, even taking this into account, this season has been particularly difficult to take. therefore, i have hit on a self-delusion which i believe will serve me quite well by season's end: next spring i will be moving to tuscany. while there, not only will i find it difficult to obtain any more than the most scant and disparate bits of news here and there about the phins, but there are no telecasts whatsoever there of american football. it will be difficult at first, but slowly i will come to forget the game and my affinity for it. and i will forget entirely this recent extended episode with the team. in time, i'm i'll even be able to forget about shula and the warm pie on the kitchen counter.
0-16 is too terrible to contemplate how we would recover from a season like that, first things first though, Cam would have to go, John McKay he isn't. That being said, I would still listen to the draft at work, still wonder if we will sign any FA's and still drink the preseason Koolaid while trying to find the games online or on TV. I'm a Dolphins fan..I'm used to painful experiences...no kicker ever misses, sure thing at least 2 of are high draft picks will be scrubs, and every year we look for the "Next Marino". By God I love it!
I would remain a Dolphin fan. But going 0-16 would make me very bitter and angry. To be record breakingly bad is just unacceptable. However, if for some reason, we go into N.E. 0-15, and they are 15-0, and God gives us that victory...the whole season is a push, and it will be one of the finest moments in NFL history. This whole catastrophic, pathetic, sad season will be worthwhile.
I used to be a much bigger NFL fan than I am right now. Awful management and even worse coaching by the Dolphins has hurt how much I follow the league. Plus I hate the decisions the NFL makes as a business. I'm still a die-hard but everytime I see Mercury Morris on ESPN i'm turned off by his arrogance. 0-16 really won't bother me, if the franchise doesn't turn to a new GM and/or Coach it will.
As for coping with an 0-16? You have to. Then again it will lead to excessive doses of this Then again I did play on a team that went 0-8 for a season, where we scored on the 1st drive of the year, then not again the rest of the season I somehow survived it
It would suck and be very difficult to cope with but I will still represent my team and wear my Marino throwback and Ronnie Brown jersey here in RI in the middle of Patriot country. Not to mention I have other family members who are Cowboy fans so I have it pretty rough right now.
