I am a Cane fan primarily and never seen Jenkins in person...but DAMN his videos are fantastic...Luc looks like he may even be better from what I have seen (as much range, same first step explosiveness and even more stout at POA, and plays with lower pads and hands) ... having those two on the same side of the ball is not fair.....................

The defense will be the strength of this team .Even better than last years .

The offense however have a lot of things to prove .No one can replace Harvin although Debose looks to have some of the same potential .The WRs need to develop .We are short of TEs ,the OL needs to gell.

The QB situation looks very good though.

I agree about the defense. It will be scary to see how good this defense will be. I mean last year they were one of the best in the country and now they return everyone and there back-up plus new recruits.

I think the offense will be very good this year. I know losin Percy hurts hoever we have more than enough playmakers on this team. We have done fin without Percy in the past. I think with the emergance of new playmakers in the spring and the old ones we will be alright. I think Rainey and Demps will be wonderful taking over for him our of the backfield (while they can't break tackles like Percy they are much harder to find cause of there size. In the air I like our WR core this year more than last year actually. We have the same speed and add TJ Lawerence plus Frankie Hammond. Riley Cooper and Deonte Thompson both can fly (Coop needs to stay healthy tho). David Nelson also came on very late so I am not scared there.

TE I really think won't be a problem until next year when Hernandez leaves. I can't see the Gators going two TE too much this year. However I think Desmond Park can do it for the passing game. He really turned heads in the spring until he was injured. He lacks the size right now to be a great blocker but he will hold his on receiving.

The only prolem our Oline has is how we are going to play so many good players. We are loaded on the online and you should not buy into the talk around spring about the oline. Yeah the Oline got killed however most of the starters were out and they have played together. The only person new who could crack the line-up in Matt Patchen who was great at LT. If that happens Carl Johsnon will stay at guard leaving James Wilson a 5 star as a back-up at guard. Sam Robey has played extremly well at center and has impressed the coaches but more importantly his teammates. If a couple of injuries occur to some guards look for Meyer to put Robey at Center and move one of the Pouncey twins back to guard. Carl Johnson could very well play LT too so we have depth.

QB problems? The only problem we have is what to do after John Brantley leaves the Gators. If Tebow got hurt I would not be in panic mode. Brantley has the best arm on the team and could very well be a future 1st rd pick. He outplayed Tebow thru parts of the spring.

We are in great shape. Scary great shape...... hmmmm

Oh our recruiting class only has 6 members of the Rivals 100 right now. What thats amazing. hmmmmm

TE: I am predicting TJ Pridemore becomes a stud TE if they keep him there. IMO he will be a very good player at TE or FB.......

OL: FWIW I agree with you on everything except Patchen. Patchen IMO is not much other than he has very good movement. I think once Wilson settles in mentally he will be a monster inside.

QB: Brantley I have called since his sr. HS year....tremendous arm, awareness and born to be a QB.....STUD IMO!!!!!

Side note:Watch Carl Moore he has all the tools and is developing quickly.....and do not be surprised if Will Hill is a major recruiting disappointment.... a little birdie told me that.

Gators are set very well for the post Tebow years IMO.

Any clarification on that? Disappointment in that he ends up sitting the bench? Behind two pretty darn good safeties? Or just that he ends up a bust and someone else even beats him out for 2nd on depth chart? The little bit he was in last year, I liked what I saw...

From what I hear he has some fairly significant confidence issues. I bet Urban tries to give him some props and sees how he responds.

Apparently he is not very good in coverage and is a Nelson type rover almost exclusively without the Nelson type skills so he is a bit pigeonholed in where you can play him (not that that is bad just not what was expected) and "they" expected him to be more versatile and be a 4 down safety.....IMHO only I think he plays but as a third down roaming type safety this year and they see how he develops as an every down guy.

From what I saw his COD is poor and he is a long strider that will never be great in coverage but he is functional just not what he was made out to be but will be decent...again that is my view and not from something I heard inside the building. I did hear that they have even went so far as to talk about him switching to the offensive side of the ball more from his liabilities as a safety than his upside as a WR.

BTW I love Pridemore since I called this kid. He is pure football player with a lot of skills and will play somewhere.

Will Hill is already mush better than he was last year and is getting better. He does lack coverage skills but so does Major Wright. Will Hill should start next year however we are loaded at Safety. Will Hill already plays now in a backup role. I think he will be fine. He will never be a huge star like Reggie Nelson but how many people are?

Pridemore had alot of problems at FB and is still working there. Did not get much time at TE and Meyer does not plan on putting him there, He will be a FB, But has yet to impress. He is young so lets see how he plays this year

From me personally ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!. There are a few here that know exactly why and I will never apologize for my absolute hatred of Urban Meyer. He is NOT FLORIDA football the program is is the program and he is an arrogant disrespectful jerk.....that is the nicest thing i can say about the weasel.

    Glad to hear it.

I tried to watch a bit of the game yesterday, but I am sorry... softball is really boring. More so than baseball on TV. I will be rooting for them, but not going to watch any more games.

Arizona entered the Women's College World Series with the nation's top offense, but the Wildcats were no match for Gators pitcher Stacey Nelson on Thursday.Nelson (40-3, 0.40 ERA) shutout No. 9 Arizona (46-16) and struck out 12 batters, leading Florida to a 3-0 victory at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. With the victory, the No. 1 Gators (61-3) advanced to the second round of the WCWS, where they will take on No. 5 Michigan Friday at 9 p.m. on ESPN.

I watched the entire game and it was great. Nelson gave up two hits both in the 1st inning and that was all Arizona go. That whole line-up was talked up about all the Homers they hit but when Nelson hit her stride he was on. She struck out the side a few times and the Gators defense was amazing. Two Homers were the difference and accounted for all of the Gators runs (3).

Just heard about this one. 24th arrest under Meyer since he started, they tasered the guy too. Crazy stuff......

"Gainesville Police got forceful with Florida Gators cornerback Janoris Jenkins, a freshman All-American last year, before arresting him for his involvement in a street fight over the weekend, according to Alachua County jail records.
Police tasered Jenkins, 20, after he failed to comply with requests to stop fighting with five other people early Saturday morning, according to jail records. Jenkins was arrested on misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest without violence.

Jenkins hit another person in the head after the officer's warning at 100 S. Main Street at 2 a.m., according to jail records. The officer applied one taser cycle on Jenkins, who then stood up and ran away, according to the records. He kept running after the officer yelled for him to stop, but he was later arrested about one and a half blocks away, according to the records.

Jenkins told police he was fighting to prevent the potential theft of his chain, according to records. It's possible Jenkins attended the Rue Bar, a Gainesville night spot at 104 S. Main St."

He thought someone was trying to steal his chain and got in a fight. I am just relieved that this had nothing to do with Drugs or Weapons. I don't approve but its not the worst thing a kid can do.

Thanks for the link. It was interesting that his decision was between Florida and Harvard Medical school. I guess a mid-level pre-med program and a top football program trumps a top pre-med program and a bottom tier football program.

Granted. I just thought more than anything it was interesting that a guy was deciding between Harvard Medicine and Playing for UF. Especially at this time of year where there is not much else worth talking about.

Congrats to the Gator baseball program and Coach Sully n a great year right out of the gate. This guy is all class and a very nice guy. He was recruiting a buddy of mine's son for Clemson when he moved to UF. My buddies kid ended up at Clemson but O'Sullivan was great through the process. Handled himself very well with class, honesty and he is a great coach...the future of Gator baseball is in great hands and I honestly think you will see a National championship in the not too distant future...Congrats Gator Baseball....you are in good hands.

Yeah Already heard one said he is going to go pro.

Even still, the coach had a great year. Especially after how poor we started. Just look at how we played UM early in the year vs the end of the year.

Sully can recruit, he is very likable, he is all class, he always has a plan, has a great staff and the best part is the man can coach...he can make chicken soup out of chicken feathers.................pretty soon some of those guys will see UF as a better training ground than the bus leagues...especially pitchers and especially when some of those guys go directly to high A ball of even AA in some cases instead of short season rookie ball or low A ball, but IMO he will win with "left overs", if he has to.
