Actually, you are the one who judged as well. How do you know that the WA lady had not seen the AA lady before? How do you know that they never had had any interaction? I can tell you from experience that many homeless people put on acts. One moment, they act as if they've lost everything in the world, no on to turn to, on the edge of tears. Later on, those same people are joking around smoking cigarettes. I've seen it myself. How do you know the WA lady hasn't had those same kinds of experiences? Some of the people that really cause the problems are the "enablers" who give the homeless money so that they can buy booze, drugs, cigarettes, andwhathaveyou. Church groups come by and feed them. As a result, they then refuse the real aid.
Just sharing a story...in the lounge...to create conversation. The real question, Zach, is what's your point of following me around and constantly giving me crap? Do you have a crush on me? If so, you should know, I'm overweight, bad in bed, straight & married, and well...this is hard to say...but I don't think of you that way. You misunderstand. I don't care that WA lady didn't help AA lady. Some people can help, some can't. Some want to, some don't. I'm fine with that. The problem is that she was *****ing out AA lady. That was uncalled for, regardless of WA lady's past experiences, it doesn't make it ok, to belittle this lady, who has real problems and was just asking for some spare change. Or is it ok for someone to belittle you, because they had a bad experience with a Jewish person before?

No, I understood perfectly. Have you had the experience of living in the kind of environment in which your quality of life is affected that way? Do you have to hold your nose when you walk on the street, avoid the broken glass, trash, human feces, and the rats that they sometimes bring? I have having lived in Overtown, so I can relate to the WA's lady's attitude. I'm not saying that the WA lady's reaction is justifiable, but I don't think that your's is either. And by the way, when did the subject of Jews enter this debate?
Look. I don't care if you agree, disagree, or not with anything I post. What I don't appreciate is saying I said or did things I didn't, or constantly calling me out for what you call baiting. I really dont understand why you guys are jumping on D's case here. He did what he thought was correct and defended a homeless woman, and gave her money. Who cares what she uses it for? If she is a druggie and the only happiness she has in her life is her high, who are any of us to take that from her? Same with booze. Being homeless sucks! And in FL. whats sad is a huge percentage of the homeless are mentally unstable people that have slipped through the cracks of our great mental institutions, and or no one really gives a crap about them. And the ones that can get help, well, you cant force them to if they dont want it, so what just let them starve because they have an addiction or a disease? Sometimes reality calls my friends...you should listen to it.

And how do you know that I wouldn't be so "sanctimonious" if the quantifier would be "Jewish" or not. For that matter, unless the individual would be wearing a very visible Star of David or a t-shirt emblazoned with the words "I am Jewish" how would I know him/her to be Jewish? Because his actions are uncalled for as well. Being homeless does certainly suck, there's no doubt about it, but it doesn't help matters for some who choose to be there. I'm not saying the AA lady in this story practices elective homelessness, there are many who do. I used to be a COP in downtown Miami. What a frustrating experience, trying to get the homeless into shelters. The thing is that homelessness affects others. People have a right to live in a clean, drug-free environment and that isn't likely if homelessness is pervasive and isn't right if the homelessness is elective.
well in all fairness you shouldn't fund someone killing themselves. having said that someone who is not living in a house is either having a tough time or there is something mentally wrong with them, most of the time, IMO.

Actually you did misrepresent one key element. WA lady wasn't all nice and was like you should seek employment. She berated her, which was my point of contention. Other than that, pretty accurate, except for 4. Which is typical.
