Not really. Not at all, actually. Beer actually started out in ancient Sumeria (5-6000 years ago), and probably before that, as a way of preserving grain that would have otherwise spoiled. You see, they preserved meat in a number of ways, from salting to freezing deep in permafrost or glaciers. But grain - probably wild wheat and barley at the time - presented a different challenge. I'm sure it was as much by accident as by invention, but the fact that they could draw the nutrition from grain and preserve it in a drink that, as a pleasurable by-product, also provided a nice buzz, was a blessing to them. Point is: beer is nutritive; therefore, it stays longer in your digestive tract than plain water, and therefore it is more hydrating. Of course, the alcohol does act as a diuretic...
I drank last night, and had a great workout today! I also don't get hangovers so that probably helped.
i like the india pale ale creation. drank a couple of harpoons tonight actually beer is awesome. wine too. its a cool study. it promotes beer for its benefits, but obviously isnt a replacement for water. a bunch of water and a banana is probably your best bet
I enjoy both but water makes me feel less ****ty in the morning. It's also a little harder to workout while drinking a 40 as opposed to a 1/2 gallon of water.
When me and my woman broke up I was basically was on a beer diet, and I have lost 13 pounds much to my suprise. Beer- its whats for dinner.
How awesome would it be to give football and basketball players beer instead of gatorade? We'd see alot more QBs pulling a Dan Orlosky.
