Good article on the Fins in general, and the braintrust in particular.... http://www.nfl.com/trainingcamp/sto...late=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true The legacy of Bill Parcells -- one still being written here with the Miami Dolphins -- often casts a shadow over just what occurs with these Dolphins. Popular sentiment is that Parcells barks and general manager Jeff Ireland and coach Tony Sparano implement. Both Ireland and Sparano crafted a more precise picture between Dolphins training camp practices. "I don't think Tony or myself would have taken our jobs with Bill if that were the case," Ireland said. "We both know the vast experience that Bill has and that he has very strong opinions, but that doesn't mean he is always right. We have checks and balances and communication between the three of us. We question each other. Sometimes Bill locks his jaw. Sometimes I lock my jaw in personnel. Sometimes Tony locks his jaw in coaching. But we listen to each other and make decisions in our areas. Bill has told us, 'you guys do your jobs, you do the personnel, Tony does the coaching, and think of me as a guidance counselor.' It has created fantastic checks and balances for us all."
Bill Parcells has the greatest job in the world. Enjoy the Florida Weather, talk football, play golf, meet with some of the best coaches in each sport, and make millions.
Great read there. I think this team is for real and I didn't need to read this article to say that. This team may not be the greatest team right now, but they are one of the most solid teams in the league. This team is build to play with injuries. They seem to have at least two of everything. They don't have just one safety, they have two. We have not only one RB but three. If for some reason we lose Ted Ginn Jr., we still have Bess, Camarillo, Hartline, Turner, and London. If we lost Pennington, we still have Henne and White to work with. In this day and age, it is good to have backups who could play as well as the starters. What would happen if Tom Brady was to go down, who would carry them? This is proof that this team is solid and I am so proud to be a fan of the Miami Dolphins!!
